Appearance

Modanna has the characteristic ashen blonde hair of her sisters and she keeps hers cut short above her jawline and her locks flow out in waves and frame her soft-featured face. Her features are young and rounded, but still carrying a strong dwarven shape and dotted with patches of freckles. Due to her relatively frequent outdoor adventures, she has gained some degree of muscle, though not to the level of her more powerfully built sisters.

Personality

Modanna tends to have a sunny disposition and views the world through the eyes of a child, if perhaps a wise child. She sees the bright side in almost any situation and attempts to resolve disputes in a way that everyone comes out pleased. Due to her father trying to marry her out to suitors while she was much younger than the age where it was deemed appropriate, she has developed uneasiness around males older than herself due to being scrutinised by them during banquets and gatherings at such an immature age. While not outright hostile, she tends to prefer the company of her sisters, girls her age and the wilds of Dun Morogh.

History

Modanna grew up under the heavy, brutal hand of her father Kangrid and with no memory of her mother; her sisters played the maternal role in her life. Her childhood was spent being coddled by her older sisters who tried to protect their newest sister from their father’s increasing wrath. While her father taught her formal etiquette and Common speech, Modanna’s sisters educated her in whatever other interests she had, namely the art of magic.

As she grew through her adolescent years, her studies in magic began to specialise in Pyromancy unlike her sister Reigna who took a different arcane path. Alongside this, she began to take an interest in firearms after she found that her sister Thidlynn’s crossbow lessons didn’t pack enough punch for her. Amidst her magical and technological studies, her father began presenting her to suitors as she reached her early twenties. Still being too young to fully understand the machinations of Dwarven nobility, she became quite frightened of the large banquets and balls her father used to show her off.

Thankfully, her sisters were always there to comfort her and provide support whenever her father’s abuse became too much for the young girl. She slowly came to resent Kangrid for being so harsh on her and even sometimes beating her for failure when she had tried her best to please him by excelling in her studies but she still tried to love him despite all of this. It was around this time that Modanna crafted Brunhilde, her custom-built rifle that combined traditional gunsmithing with magical engineering though she received no praise from her father for her hard work, leaving her bitter.

When Thidlynn murdered their father, Modanna tried to find it in herself to be distraught over his death but in truth, she was rather pleased that she no longer had to live under his abusive rule. Her newfound freedom from this is spent trying to enjoy her youth and she often goes adventuring and exploring into Dun Morogh’s wilds and enjoys spending time with her elder sisters but tries not to annoy them too much by being the clingy little sister. After her father’s death, she has become more curious as to the fate of her mother and has begun searching for clues as to what happened to her and where she may be now.

Skills and Abilities

Fire and Brimstone: Modanna has spent the years of her youth studying Pyromancy as well as practicing with firearms, giving her sound skill in both fields.

Grease Monkey: Accompanying her interest in the use of guns, Modanna also began tinkering with the mechanics of the weapons. She has a decent understanding of the maintenance, repair and creation of guns, including her self-built rifle Brunhilde.

Girl’s Best Friend: Brunhilde is a clip-fed bolt-action rifle built for mid-range combat, lacking any scope but having very well-crafted iron sights as well as a toggled magical sight. It also differs from normal rifles as it includes magic in its construction. It is able to fire normal rifle ammunition but can also several magical ammo types. Fire, Frost and Arcane rounds specifically. Fire rounds are able to melt through armor or set a target on fire. Frost shots leave clusters of ice at the point of impact, freezing or slowing their target. Arcane rounds explode with pure Arcane force. Boom.
