Appearance

It’s difficult and rare to see Milenka not clad in full plate. Her plated armor is light but strong, adorned with a long cloak to protect her from certain climate conditions. She wears a plated helm as well, but it’s most often in her belt than in her head, except if there’s real need to use it. Obviously, she has different choices of clothes, and those are most simple and casual, fitting to what can be found around Azeroth. She usually favors blue and golden colors.

Other: Mentioned in her personality, Milenka can be overly caring about her appearance. She never let her hair not be trimmed or groomed, making use of lotions and herbs to make it softer or give it a better texture. She wears light make-up, nothing exaggerated, mostly only dark colors of lipstick or some eyeliner. Sometimes she can be so overprotective about her hair it leads her to be paranoid.

Milenka has poor eyesight for small words, making use of eyeglasses whenever she needs to read or inspect something to the small details. Her knowledge of languages is rather recent, so her common still carries a very strong accent, sometimes making it hard to understand what she’s saying.

Personality

Milenka is calm and patient, usually showing a more motherly personality. She can be strict and firm in times of need, usually when her leadership is required or when her sincere advice is asked for. She considers herself to be a young woman, despite her age. Millennia of patient tutoring of young Draenei gave her a deep and considerable insight on the sentient mind of people.

She understands people can make mistakes but that can also learn from them, if they are willing. However, Milenka is considered a scary woman when angered. Guiltless criminals, lawbreakers that show little regret for their actions are often in the end of her anger. While she can be forgiving to those who are willing to change, she can also be merciless to those who insist in staying in the wrong path.

Recently, after so many millennia training younglings and fighting for her people, Milenka has decided to give herself a break. With the largest threat to Azeroth, the Lich King, gone, she decided to temporarily retire from her duty as a Vindicator.

Milenka enjoys appreciating things, mostly nature and beauty, having a great appreciation for art in any form. She often states that if she once retired for good, she’d become an artist of sorts, perhaps a painter or a writer. While never lacking with the will to fight and practice, Milenka always finds time to take care of herself. While knowing some of them might be her future enemies, she has interest in learning more about the culture and traits of the many different races that inhabit Azeroth, her most recent interest being in how government works for the different races (Such as the reason behind the choice of a King, Council, Warchief or what she usually does not know.).

History

Her life started in one of the many places that the Draenei explored during their great exodus, fleeing from Argus and from the Legion. Milenka comes from a family of Vindicators, having learned about the Light with them since very early in her life. Her parents trained her to be a disciplined, but not paranoid paladin. They expected her to be a leader but also expected her to be a living being, without always being focused on the ways of the Light. Her childhood had not many eventful happenings. She grew normally into a lovingly family, despite the many disgraces that fell upon the Draenei upon their constant war against the Legion. Once in the right age, she started her training as a warrior and a few decades later she’d dedicate to becoming a warrior of the Light.

Milenka joined the Vindicators as a squire first. Many years of her life were spent with patience, patience used for training. She was no exceptional Draenei. If anything, she was just the same average as most everyone. Still, her strength was obtained by persistence, unwavering will leading her to always attain to become a better warrior. She slowly rose through the ranks of the Vindicators, taking a few centuries until finally reaching the rank of Captain. She was in charge of a small division, though her abilities, along with her patient and calm personality, were found to be of better use in the training of new squires.

Some Draenei younglings trained under her, learning from her calm but strict teachings. A few gave up, but others would someday become even better paladins than she was. The next millennia were uneventful, safe for some small changes in her personal life. Milenka mated once, but her mate died decades after, having fallen while fighting the Legion. Despite being distressed by his passing, it did not take such a heavy blow on Milenka. After so many millennia facing the Legion, death wasn’t such an uncommon happening among Draenei.

Their arrival at Draenor proved to be a pleasant rest to Milenka. During that time, there wasn’t much battle. The years were peaceful, with the Draenei having their fateful meeting with the Orcs and befriending the strange, honorable race. The Orcs influenced her deeply, since she was acting as a guard for one of the Draenei ambassadors and had time to know them better. It was among those Orcs that Milenka met her second name, Gharok, an Orc warrior which guarded one of the villages she visited. After years having learned to respect each other and recognizing not only their strengths, but the positive aspects in each other, their bond grew stronger than friendship and became love. She learned much with her new mate, and so did him with her. Their shared their cultures, knowledge and the deep bond of love between them grew even stronger, past the mere shell of their outward appearances.

Sadly, not long after, the Legion had entered contact with the Orcs and the clans were being reunited, corrupted, driven to decimate their former allies, the Draenei. During the war against the Fel Orcs, the Draenei took many critical blows, suffering many defeats against their corrupted, powerful enemies. Gharok however, did not take part of the pact, and was slain by her very brothers, now corrupted by the Legion.

Milenka never found what truly happened to her mate, but she presumed him dead. She fought harder to protect her people from the Fel Orcs, perhaps hoping for them to return to their senses and see how wrong they were on working under the Legion. Her hopes were crushed, the Fel Orcs drove the Draenei to near extinction and they were forced to retreat and hide in the Zangarmarsh.

More battles still happened, as the Draenei tried to prevent more of them from being slaughtered. In one of these fated battles, Milenka’s group suffered a hard defeat. She was badly wounded, having taken a lethal attack to her stomach, a spear coming from one side and coming out from the other. After being tossed into the swamp, Milenka floated away, unconscious. She was found by an old Orc crone, a wise shamaness who did not partake in the pact of blood and choose to isolate herself from her corrupted people. Jishia, the crone, took care of Milenka. She treated her poisoning, which hadn’t been as lethal as it normally would be, since Milenka was a paladin. Still, it had been enough to cause her great suffering. She stayed a few weeks with Jishia for the mentally and physically destroyed Draenei.

A short season was spent with her. Milenka, with the shaman crone, had a good moment of spiritual rest, gradually recovering from her wounds. More weeks after, Milenka heard from the crone that the Draenei, under Velen, were preparing for an assault on the Tempest Keep. Thanking Jishia for what she had done for her, she left with renewed faith, seeking to assist her people once more in that time of need. After rendezvousing with the Draenei, she prepared to join their assault, assisted by the Naaru.

The fight was hard, even if short. Draenei and Sin’dorei alike suffered losses but the former managed to break through and take one of the wings, the Exodar. Parting from the Tempest Keep, the Exodar made a dimensional jump to escape. During the jump, the dimensional engines exploded, having been sabotaged by the Sin’dorei before they could escape. The ship, and its new crew were in danger of dying in the Twisting Nether. However, they manage to arrive upon Azeroth and managed to crash-land on Azuremist Isle. Milenka was only lightly bruised, having escaped into one of the escape pods. After her people settled down, she set off to explore Azeroth, wanting to see what the new planet had to offer and what kind of culture their new allies had.

Skills and Abilities

Milenka has the usual skills of a paladin and a soldier. For many years she acted as a leader for one of the Vindicator divisions of the Draenei, having attained the rank of Captain before retiring. She’s skilled in the use of most melee weapons, though her most favored weapons are her warhammer and a longsword. Depending on the opponent she’s engaging, she will switch at will between both weapons, favoring the hammer for harder, stronger attacks, and the sword for faster attacks. In an overall sight, Milenka is a balanced warrior, with both strengths and failures. Rather than aiming to achieve perfection in one field, she spread her training to have balanced abilities in most fields, be it with wielding the Light or using her melee skills. To obtain advantage without requiring specialization in one specific field of learning, Milenka makes use of past experiences, regular training, patience and faith in the Light.
