Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Personality: Meldir is a wanderer. He travels because he can and it brings him great delight when he finds hidden jewels among the environment. He takes in the many wonders nature provides and attempts to enjoy them while they last. It’s not to say he hates civilization or technology, he simply prefers things simple and unrestricted. He hates being tied down to things or people.

While he is a free-lance mercenary when it comes to business, he tries to stay away from tasks that directly harm innocent people or that involve unneeded murder of innocent people. Anything below that, he may consider if enough money is involved. He doesn’t need much to sustain his lifestyle.

Meldir doesn’t like to involve himself into politics or drama and will often avoid situations that may put himself in Alliance/Horde conflict or faction/faction conflict. He doesn’t hold much racial hate though, even accepting the night elves since he avoids their forests anyways. He can’t tolerate those of less intelligence or blinded by racist upbringings.

History: Meldir had a simple life. He was raised by a magistrix and a farstrider lieutenant who both earned their pay in their respected organizations. He was allowed to roam freely as a child in the safer areas of Eversong Forest, always exploring every chance he got, even following his father into the deeper regions. Meldir met his cousin Krian Duskbinder, often playing in the outdoors with him. The two became friendly rivals, always trying to one-up the other. The pair did not converse with their other cousin, Noria Duskbinder, as she saw them as petty children. Regardless, Meldir’s parents understood early on that their child took much after the father, so they enrolled him into school a bit later than normal for a basic education. Once the bare minimum was completed, Meldir swiftly joined the Farstriders under his father’s recommendation. There he exceled in training and later, once he was older, in skirmishes against the forest trolls.

Meldir was a talented archer and excellent at melee combat, he won praise of his commanding officer for soaking in all the knowledge and training given to him. During the Second War, Meldir and his unit went south to help the Alliance engage the orcish horde that swept through the southern Eastern Kingdoms. There he earned a handful of scars, but took the horrors of war rather well. He was calm and collected during the intense combat, saving for the moments where he was struck by an enemy weapon. He came back eligible for a Ranger promotion. However, Meldir saw a great deal of the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms during the war, longed to visit all the locations he had to skip visiting. He took a leave of absences, traveling around Eastern Lordaeron, putting his skills to use by helping villages with minor problems they had and sight-seeing the beautiful country.

It didn’t last long, as the Third War rolled around, undead and cults popping seeming out of the ground. He tried to assist the humans, but the sheer force of the Scourge forced him to retreat southward. He felt a terrible blow as the Sunwell was corrupted, then destroyed soon after. He traveled north to see what caused it, finding his kingdom in ruin. He learned that his father died during the siege and his mother was mentally crippled from the shock of losing her husband. Much of his other family members were also slaughtered in the assault, but the three cousins did meet to give each other comfort for their loss.

Anguished, he didn’t join Kael’thas so he could make her his mother was cared for. The arcane addiction claimed her life before the Burning Crystals came due to her lack of willpower, furthering Meldir’s sorrow. When fel was introduced, he took his fill and left Quel’thalas, aiming for the human regions in the south where he could escape the agony the undead inflicted on him. By the time he reached there, it was made clear that Sin’dorei are enemies to the Alliance. A band of humans led by a Quel’dorei tried to hunt him down, Meldir narrowly escaping. He fled to Booty Bay, taking up work there and soon enough moving to Ratchet after he grew tired of that goblin port. In Ratchet, he learned that the Blood Elves allied with the Horde they fought against. Despite being puzzled and a bit revolted at now having to accept former enemies as allies, he welcomed the now friendlier territories as new lands to explore. Since then, he’s been wandering the world, doing as he pleased and taking up work whenever funds were short. Every day brings a new challenge and adventure!
