Personality

She was quite the trouble-maker growing up, but has mellowed out since she left Lakeshire. She surprised herself with her during the Stromgarde event. She has a deep respect for the military, having personally experienced it first-hand. Her drive now is to further her skills with sword and spell to protect herself from her parent's fate. Since her recent magically development, she has begun to show signs of addictions to the schools of Abjuration and Conjuration. That is magic for protection and creating magical items, respectfully. She has frequent bouts of paranoia and can be seen staring at her long sword almost like she is listening to it for guidance.

History

Maureen was born in Lakeshire twenty-one years ago. Her parents disappeared when she was two after a Blackrock Orc raid. They are presumed death, and memorial graves placed with the fallen. For nineteen years she lived in Lakeshire with her foster parent, Grandma Fran. Fran is a gentle old lady who tried to instill peace into the troubled child. As she grew, Maureen was very curious to the various travelers who passed by. There was one frequent mage who passed through town regularly who she was fondly attached to. Being older, she took to him as a father figure. He taught her some basic arcane magic attacks through the years. Every time he left town, she grew more and more restless with the town of Lakeshire. Finally on her nineteenth birthday she headed to the great city of Stormwind in search of the adventure her mentor often talked about. Two years of depression passed slowly for the commoner, picking up odd jobs here and there just to survive.

She woke up one morning in a corner using a newspaper for shelter. After rubbing her head, concrete makes one sore, she noticed an section in the paper. It was a vague report on the progress of Stromgarde. One of the sentences caught her eye, "A place of new beginnings!" Could this be it? A foreign land on a far away frontier? These thoughts raced through her mind as she found herself on the Stormwind docks.

As the inspiring speech concludes, Maureen is lost in deep contemplation. 'This is what I wanted, a chance to prove myself. But do I dare stand against mercenaries? Am I capable? Could I hold my own? I could die...' These thoughts give way to the unshakeable courage of those around her. She was pushed beyond her limits, beat, battered and broken when it was all said and done. Two black eyes, a split lip and a broken nose. Also a gash down her shoulder. Even though it would have been easy for a priest to heal her, there were others who needed immediate attention. In a few days time her wounds began to heal up. The sting of that battle diminishes with every day. Even though her wounds have all but vanished, Maureen has a strong sense of pride of her accomplishments on that day. This is now her home, her home she fought for.

She has taken up Enchanting and Inscription to further her arcane knowledge, personal protection and to supply some income. Unfortunately she has the first signs of magical addiction. If she does not get proper training, and probably mental help, she could surely go insane.
