Personality

Mather is usually very quiet, and not one to speak his opinions. He has a general dislike towards most races, thinking that Gnomes are the smartest and most advanced race. He'll think that, but is much too afraid and polite to actually call a human dumb, much less an Orc. He is likely to tell you hi, whether or not you look like the kind of person to reply. Being around Gnomes with the general argument of whether they should be in Gnomeregan, or if they are wasting their time, has grown on Mather. He believes that the Gnomes and Dwarves serving in Gnomeregan are brave, and he is excited to possibly regain his formal home. After the fall of his home, like other Gnomes, it took a lot out of him. All of his blueprints, the school he studied in, and his trusted belongings were gone. It took a fraction of his trust, his personality, and his creativity. It has been very hard for him, and has somewhat hardened him. His parents raised him with support and much love, seeing as he was their only child. His parents' support drove him to his dream to become a Techno Mage, but after the fall of his city, he has been interested in starting a business. If he is learning something, he will strive to please the teacher, and to learn fast.

History

Growing up as a young Gnome in Gnomeregan was pretty normal for Mather up until the radiation. His parents were Lillith and Targen Frostwrench. His father gained his name from creating a wrench that emitted a blast of icy air whenever he was working with overheating engines, or just fighting. His childhood was normal, and his parents were supportive of his interest in magic. He has always wanted to become a Techno mage, and his father agreed that he would be a fine tinker mage when he was older. Playing with the other Gnomes around the vast city of Gnomeregan was a pleasant, and brief, part of his childhood. The training took up most of his childhood, although, giving him almost no time to socialize with fellow classmates, unless they were studying with him. He was taught the Arcane arts, and shown a little potential. The training was rigorous and the studying was long, but he showed to be an easy learner. Hours in the study, and hours training have proved him well. Scars along his arms from fire and arcane show his spars with friends and teachers. Not only was he excited about learning the arcane arts, he always showed potential in engineering. He would create silly inventions, and craft watches or other little devices for hours. He has always been much more interested in engineering, much like all the other Gnomes. After fleeing from Gnomeregan with his friends and some of his family, he set out to continue his engineering work. He has traveled in most of the Alliance settlings, and actually lived in Stormwind for most of his live, running a small engineer shop, fixing watches and other small gadgets. Soon, he found himself wanting more. He traveled to several Neutral towns, hoping to see more Orcs or other strange creatures he read about. He socialized around Ratchet for a while, but soon grew tired of the desert landscape. His name 'Firecog', was self titled after a few infuriating instances where the bolts on his inventions would either melt, or snap under extreme pressure and heat, he decided to produce self-made cogs and bolts that have been tempered and had a layer of ??enchanted fire on them, so they could withstand the heat and pressure. He declared this one of his most successful inventions, as it helped him out in more than one occasion.

After asking around, and finding that some don't particularly like Gnomes, he finally was pointed in the direction of another neutral town, Booty Bay. He set out for it, hearing much about engineers and strange races. Upon arrival, he was not disappointed. He would stare at the giant Tauren, Orcs and Trolls, scowl in mild disgust at the strange pink elves, and wrinkle his nose at the rude Forsaken. After a few days lingering around, and talking with the locals, he was greeted by a strange Gnome named Jarvis. Jarvis wasn't shy at all, and prompted to ask Mather for work. Of course, he agreed. He is now settling in the inn, and looking for a more permanent home as he does odd jobs for the Gnomes Jarvis and Fardem. After talking to Fardem about The House of the Arcane Contraption, he has begun to ask around Booty Bay where they reside.
