Personality
Tending to only work for her own goals, rather than the goals of others, Lyana does as she pleases, helping or harming others more often when it benefits herself or "nature", though she is not opposed to being selfless. She is a generally soft spoken, preferring to listen rather than speaking when in a larger group, though she is firm on her beliefs and opinions. While not amoral, she has a very loose definition of the terms right and wrong in some cases, and will still do something even if she considers it to be the latter, providing it helps or gives her what she wants in one way or another.
Lyana mistrusts everyone at first, even being less trustworthy of other Night Elves than normal, but is not overzealous to kill anyone either.
History
While rarely spoken of, Lyana was born somewhere in Darkshore, possibly near, if not in Auberdine.
Lyana's father was a druid of great ability, though he was killed on Teldrassil by a group of furbolgs while trying to stop or at least slow the corruption of the tree, much to Lyana's distress. On the other hand, however, her mother was a priestess who continues to live to this day. Lyana herself was trained at an early age in the druidic arts. This training has caused her family to become a bit more detached from Night Elf society, because of the bias against women being druids. She rarely, if ever, entered any settlements other than her own home because of this.
Her childhood itself has been almost completely uneventful, with a few defining moments, notably being bitten on the right shoulder one winter by a rabid frost saber. This event itself was used by her mother as an example of why Lyana should not have continued her druidic training, claiming that it was a sign that she was obviously not as in tune with nature as her father had been. This event caused the beginning of a rift between Lyana and her mother.
One other event of note, which has caused her to have since become much more distrustful of other Night Elves, happened much more recently. Just after her father's death, Lyana attempted to take his place, but was denied. When she asked why, she was told it was because of her gender. As Lyana was violently upset at the time, being very unfamiliar with losing people, this offended her much more than it normally would have, causing her to blame most of her own race for not being allowed her own vengeance.
Lyana's training itself has only recently been completed, though it has caused her to become more interested in traveling than most of her race, having been restricted to her home region for her entire life. Recently learning common speech, she has decided to set out on a journey to see the world, and learn of all that she has been missing.
Perhaps there is more to this, however, than just curiosity? Only time will tell if she has other motives for leaving home.
