Lorailis is a textbook Forsaken: Dedicated to his kin and his Dark Lady, and prepared to do anything for either. He harbours a natural hatred for "Breathers", which he has no trouble expressing. Most who first meet him will probably find him sardonic, grumpy and generally bitter, though he is relatively easy-going around fellow Forsaken. However, he can still express these feelings towards members of his race as well, if they are annoying him. He speaks in blunt terms, having no need for subtle word-play. if he doesn't like you, he'll say it.

History

Lorailis, as a child, and then all the way to his adulthood was an unremarkable human. He was born and raised in Andorhal, went to school there, played there, et cetera, ad nauseum. He wasn't a violent person, and never considered joining the armies of Lordaeron. His ambition was to become a famous writer, or a poet, or even a magician. However, as the orcs encroached on the human kingdoms during the first and then second wars, and as more and more of his childhood friends signed up to the army, his dream simply went unfulfilled. The Eastern Kingdoms simply didn't need any more scholars.

He settled into the content life of a commoner, having a wife, two children and two living parents, unfettered by the goings on in the more southern lands. He made a steady income working the wheat fields, came home and and greeted his family every night, and generally did nothing interesting, which was fine with him.

After the first two wars, it appeared everything had finally settled down, and most of his friends were returning from far-off lands with many to stories to tell of greenskins and huge battles. His life was the same as it had been for many years, gathering wheat and delivering it to the granary to be distributed to other cities. He began to notice things, however - Many more people than usual were getting sick, among them his youngest child, Desmond. He took it to be a simple outbreak of the flu, and pushed his worries aside.

However, things got worse and worse. Soon half of the city was infected with this disease, including Lorailis. Production of grain was slowing as a side-effect, leaving Lorailis and his now infected family without coin. But that was the least of his problems... Soon, the true effects of the plague of undeath claimed his family. Him, along with most of his co-workers, became mindless servents to the Lich King.

What happened after this is unknown, but Lorailis thinks he must have escaped to the nearby forests.

However, during Illidan's battle with the Lich King, Lorailis, through a huge effort of will, regained his free mind. After this, he didn't know who he was, or the names of anybody else in the world, except one, or where he was. He only learned of his first name after looking through his remaining pocket on a pair of shredded pants, and finding a note saying "Lorailis, Desmond is... Need... Come back early... Love, ...". Reading the note, he has assumed his name is Lorailis, and that he used to know somebody named Desmond. For months he prowled around the remnants of Lordaeron, trying to find something to remind him of his past life.

Though he never found that something, he got into contact with some of his fellow Forsaken, who lead him to the Undercity, gave him new clothes and explained what had happened in the past year or so. Slowly he cared less and less about what happened before became what he is now, the only thing that mattered is him and his people keeping alive.

And so he took up a sword and enlisted himself in the defense of the Sepulcher, fighting off Worgen and Scourge alongside the Deathguards, though not being a member of them, and joining the Revenants of Lordaeron, a force dedicated to eradicating the remaining humans in Silverpine. To this day he has never been out of Lordaeron in any of his two lives.
