History

As my other history for Rhyan, Lithdra's history will also be in First Person.

Growing Up

I spun in circles in my room wearing my new purple silk dress my father had bought me. Ever since he had been made a Magister, he had been buying me all sorts of frills. Our small little cottage was decorated with expensive plants like Mageroyal, Purple Lotuses, Roses, and all sorts of others. There were expensive paintings from Humans, Elves, and Dwarves alike.

I stopped my spinning, dizzy now, I skipped over to my window and opened the curtains, morning sunlight setting my room aglow, I smiled happily, today was my birthday and life would be perfect. My best friend Kaihlyn Arcaneflight was coming all the way from Lordaeron for my birthday! I was turning 45 today, and she was 47, only a few years older than I.

A soft knock at my door made me jump and whirl around, "Lithdra, dear, it's mum, we need to find you an outfit to wear for your party. Grandmother is coming, you know, have to look your best." my mother smiled, I was always jealous of her beauty, her crystal, sapphire coloured eyes, her soft and pale skin, shining blonde hair, and her extremely expensive wedding ring father only recently finished paying off.

Today she wore a low cut, sea green, flowing dress that complimented her figure perfectly. She had silver glitter that went under eyes to her cheekbones. She wore glittery pearl coloured slippers and long, white, gloves, "Come, let's look for something.", she said in her silky smooth voice as she opened my dresser, searching through dresses.

I messed with my pale white hair as I watched her murmur to herself about dresses, she was so picky!

"Here!", mother said as she pulled out a long pink, satin dress with sleeves and elaborate designs.

I squealed and put it on quickly, twirling in the dress infront of my mirror.

"Well?"

"It's beautiful, mum! I love it!", I ran over and give her a big hug.

"Wonderous, now go and find something for you to eat, alright, dear? I need to go out and make sure everything for your party is ready."

"Alright, mum. Let's go down stairs. Is dad gone yet?"

"Yes, your father has gone to The Bazaar to make sure nothing goes on while one of his coworkers says her speech.", my mother said as we walked downstairs, "Don't worry though, he'll be back for your party.", she said smiling, which made my face light up happily.

Once we got downstairs, there was a knock at the front door, "Go find something to eat, Lithdra, mum will be back.", she said as she walked to the front door after shooing me into the kitchen.

"Can I help you officers?", she asked as she opened the door to two Silvermoon City Guards.

"Actually, ma'am, it's what we can help you with, may we come in?"

"O-of course, but what happened?"

"Ma'am, your husband has been murdered."

Mum's face went pale, paler than normal, her hands shook, her voice shaky as well, "W-what? How did this happen? He's a good man, he owes no one anything!"

"Actually, ma'am, we pulled up his records, it seems he owes the Silvermoon City Bank five hundred thousand gold coins times 10% interest, times the loan cost which brings us to 555,000 gold due by last year."

"P-pardon? My husband never took a loan out, and if that's the case, we probably have that much already, so why would he be killed?"

"We do not know that yet ma'am. Though, we do know one thing."

"And that is?"

"It is your time to die, too!" the guards shimmered for a moment and then turned into two Elven thugs and quickly killed my mother.

I suppressed a scream as I quickly ran out the back door to the house.

"I thought they had a daughter! Do they have a back door!?", said an older looking thug.

"Sure they do, it's in the back, see?", said his companion.

"WELL LET'S GET HER!", screamed the older thug.

The two thugs quickly found me and we began the chase. While running I rammed into four patrolling guards, real guards. I had tears strewn down my eyes, I was taken into arms by one of the guards while the other three took care of the thugs.

"Hi there, I'm Captain Duskroam, where are your parents?"

"I-I'm Lithdra Sundancer, those two killed my mum and my da!", I said, sniffling, wiping snot from my nose.

"It's okay, do you have anyone your parents consider as your 'legal guardian'?"

"Uh... my, my best friend, Kaihlyn Arcaneflight and her parents are coming for my birthday, they, they're supposed t-to meet at my house.", I explained between gulps of air.

"Shhh, it's okay, you're going to be fine, you hear? Let's take you to your house."

The Captain escorted me to the house and sent his other guards to go report what happened to a Magister. The way there I exlpained what happened twice and my father's occupation, along with my mother's occupation, which was nothing. When we got there, he cleaned up my mother's blood and sent his Hawkstrider off to the Guard Headquarters with my mother's body.

When Kaihlyn, her mother, and her father arrived, the Captain explained what happened, and then left.

"Merciful Light! Lithy, are you okay, dear? Would you like anything?", Mrs. Arcaneflight asked, holding me lovingly.

"My parents back.", I said bitterly, though I was grateful she was there for me to lean on for support.

"Well, Lithdra, you can live with us, or you can go live with your grandmother, either way, the house will need to be sold and all of your family's belongings would need to be sent to the nearest family member, and your belongings to your caretaker. Who will it be?" asked Mr. Arcaneflight, looking at me, his eyes full of sympathy.

Kaihlyn ran up and hugged me, her brunette hair tickling my face as she whispered into my ear, "Whoever you choose is perfect with me, I just want you to be safe.", she then continued to sit next to me.

I thought the choices over carefully, three times, before I spoke up, "I want to live with Grandmother Elithiena.", I stated boldly.

"Now, Lithdra, I don't mind your decision, but are you sure this is the choice you want?", asked Mr. Arcaneflight, looking at my with a serious expression.

"Yes." I told him, looking right up into his eyes as I spoke.

"Alright, dear, if that is your chioce, we will help you pack up your house and send your family's things to your grandmother's.", said Mrs. Arcaneflight giving me one last hug. She got up, her soft blue dress soaked with my tears, I felt really guilty and got up off the couch sheepishly, holding Kaihlyn's hand. Something about Mrs. Arcaneflight made her seem more like a mother.

We packed up my house and set off for grandmother's house. The whole move took four trips until we got everything. Grandmother had us put mother and father's things in the basement for when I got older, and she sent me up to the guest room.

Third War

"NYARGH!", shouted a ghoul as it charged at me, I shot the arrow I was preparing for an Abomination at the ghoul instead. With a twang, it shot in it's eye socket. It stopped for a moment, then continued.

Twang!, another arrow into it's other eye. Stopped again, then continued after me, obviously irritated.

Irritated as well, I grabbed my swords, and before I could stab it at, an arrow, the head on fire, shot the Ghoul's neck with such precision, speed, and grace that when it hit, it knocked the undead's head clean off. There was only one Elf I could pin it on to shoot that precise of an arrow. I looked around and only caught a bit of her cloak and blonde hair behind an abomination before I was told to keep shooting.

"Fall back to the inner gate! There are too few of us! We'll rendezvous with the others there! Fall back!", she called out.

There. I saw her. Ranger General Sylvanas Windrunner. I admired her so much, she was an amazing shot, had grace, beauty, agility. Everything i aspired for, but what would a ranger general, or even a ranger, want with an archer like me? I sighed quietly and quickly fell back with the others.

We were pushed back farther and farther, I swear I could hear the Scourge laughing at us for being so weak. We were fighting for endless hours, but I was strangely worried, I hadn't seen a glimpse of the Ranger General for a very long time, this is normal for her, being a ranger, she slips in and out of shadows... but it was broad daylight and she was nowhere to be seen. I shook it off and insisted that it was nothing.

Being Addicted

I crouched behind the bush, the fall leaves of Eversong crunching under my leather boots, I cursed silently in Thalassian. There it was, quite the peculiar creature they were... Mana Wyrms. I needed one, just one wyrm and my addiction would be sedated, I was already feeling the hunger gnaw on me like starvation.

It stopped, looked at the bush, then at the lake across from us. I took that chance and tackled it. We rolled down the hill a bit, then I began sapping it's magick hungrily. I felt like such a barbarian, taking mana from such an innocent creature.

Once I was done, the little thing was nothing but a shell. Dead. I started it awhile longer, it always shook me, that we had to do this to control our addiction. I knew the horror stories of Wretched and all the others, but I'd much rather have a Sunwell to sate our hunger. I got up and walked back to Grandmother's old house to meditate again.

The house was insanely quiet now, I could hear creaking floorboards and the wind now that grandmother was dead, there was surprisingly a lot of people who came to her funeral.

Then, there was a knock on the door. Curiously, I got up from my seated position and opened the door. Outside there were three of my new friends: Elivs Quickdawn, Jailina Dawnstalker, and Korriv Mistcaller. I smiled at them, ever since Kaihlyn stayed in Lordaeron and as a damned High Elf, I've had to make new friends. They all shared the green tinted eyes the whole of Silvermoon City shared. Ever since we've been taught how to drain Fel Energy, they slowly developed into what they were now. The day I found out my eyes were that ugly green colour, I swore I wouldn't touch Fel again, hoping it would go away. Sadly, it hadn't and my eyes stayed Fel green. My parents, and my grandparents had both died as High Elves, why had I been the one chosen to be a Blood Elf? I shook out the memory and smiled happily at my friends. We ran outside, grabbed bows and quivers and began to tried to see who could get the most dead center hits. Jailina had five, Elivs had two, Korriv had three, and I had four. Jailina was a much better Archer than I was, I actually met her after the Fall, and that's how we became friends.

For hours we continued our meaningless shooting until dark when we went inside, ate, and my friends went home.
