Personality

There are two Lhigars. The Lhigar at home and at the forge is quiet, focused and attentive to detail, even a bit salty at times. This led to his daughter believing for a long time that he held some resentment towards her not being born a male, but would later be proved untrue. The Lhigar at the pub, however, is loud, fun-loving and friendly. He drinks hard and can be quite the charmer.

History

Lhigar Axestorm was born and raised in Ironforge. He fell in love with the forge while many of his childhood friends fell in love with combat. So they made a pact. Lhigar was to be their arms supplier. He could be the greatest smithy there ever was, but he could not join the guard or army to fight. The others were to be legendary soldiers, renowned for their battle prowess, but could not lift a hammer to smith.

As time went on, Lhigar did indeed keep his end of the bargain, never going to war, but slowly earning a reputation as a quality craftsman that many sought for his fine axes. Many guards and soldiers of fortune came to him for even small jobs such as sharpening, as Lhigar was prone to giving out advice on proper care for weapons that many wanted to hear. His friends went on to become a reputable band of soldiers, helping to keep travelers safe from attacks by Troggs and other threats.

Lhigar went on to meet the love of his life, Aendria, and the two soon wed. When she became pregnant, Lhigar would often find himself hoping for it to be a boy, so that he may pass down the smithing tradition to him. But alas, his only child would be a daughter, Kerana. Lhigar was disappointed, but nonetheless decided to make the best out of things for the sake of his family. Kerana took interest in his work at a young age, admiring the strength and prestige her father had.

During the Second War, the Orcs attempted to invade Khaz Modan, and Lhigar's friends went off to defend the Dwarven lands. All were killed while valiantly helping to fight off the invasion, which broke Lhigar's heart. He tattooed their names on his arms and became more obsessive in his work, hoping to prevent as many others losing their friends as possible. It was also during this time that Kerana started to seriously attempt to have her father teach her smithing. He was very distracted and was initially against it, but at the urging and nagging of his wife, he relented. The Second War came to a close, and though the Dwarves were successful, Lhigar was not feeling like a winner.

Lhigar was hard as a teacher, pushing Kerana to improve, as he wanted her to produce great wares capable of keeping others safe. During the Third War, the two Axestorms became a reputable duo, with Lhigar providing the axes and Kerana providing the armor. It was during this war that the ice began to melt around Lhigar's heart, and he let Kerana know how proud he was of her. Their relationship became stronger than ever, and when Kerana left home after the war, she kept the family name in tribute to her father. Lhigar is currently semi-retired, spending his time teaching the next generation of blacksmiths in Ironforge.
