Lemyyx is a very unusual Draenei and some would probably call her just a bit crazy, probably because she is. Her profession as caretaker of the dead took its toll after hundreds of years and her daily encounters with mortality caused her to see the world a bit differently than others. Things normal people would see as wrong are often, in her eyes, completely acceptable. She doesn't always realize what she does, though, and might actually believe what she's doing just isn't that bad. She has questionable ethics and may do horrible things to get her way but her goal is, ultimately, for the sake of good, although her definition of good may very well differ from a normal person's.

History

Lemyyx grew up as just about any Draenei born after the Draenei left Argus. She was born on Oshu'gun and spent the majority of her life fleeing the Burning Legion. As she grew up and they travelled through space, Lemyyx took to studying the light, as many of her fellow Draenei did.

As the Draenei settled on Draenor, however, things settled down and the Draenei people started to have time to actually restart a civilization on the planet. Of course, there were a lot of duties to be filled and Lemyyx, who was quite old at this time, decided to become an Auchinai priestess and act as caretaker of the dead in Auchindoun. Her daily job was taking care of the dead residing in Auchindoun and preparing the dead for their final rest.

Lemyyx however made the mistake of trying to do her grim job on a more personal level. Whenever somebody would come to the giant necropolis to see a dead relative or friend, she would ask them what kind of person he or she was and how they died. The Draenei were also a close knit community and Lemyyx personally knew many whom she helped put to their final rest and after a long time, it started to get to her. At the beginning, the dead were only bodies, empty shells of person, but now, for the first time, the dead had faces. Faces she knew. It forced her to face the mortality of herself and everybody around her daily and she slowly started to drift into insanity.

The people around her appeared as dead in her eyes and she became secluded, looking herself in her home. There is only a finite amount of time one can just stay in one's home, though, and sooner or later, she had to get out again. The first time she went out to get food, she was scared to death and broke down as soon as she got home. She considered getting help but she was too embarrassed to do it. A caretaker of the dead who was afraid of the dead, how pathetic. So she learned to live with it and returned to work. At the necropolis, she didn't care, they were all dead there. So she continued to live her life as the only living among the dead. This was just the beginning, though, and in the following years, her condition got worse and she had difficulties to sleep and eat.

After a few years, she did nonetheless decide she needed a vacation, so she left Shattrath and spent a couple of months in seclusion in Terokkar forest. While she was gone, the orcs started their slaughter of her people, but her camp site in the forest remained untouched and she waited the genocide out, not even aware it was happening.

When she got back, everything appeared normal to her, although she couldn't for the life of her understand why everybody was just laying on the ground instead of doing what they usually do. She tried to talk to them but they wouldn't respond, obviously, since they were all dead. Poor Lemyyx, though, couldn't tell the difference at this point in her insanity and she became so frustrated that nobody was responding to her when she tried to speak with them. She threw a tantrum and marched to her home.

She left her home several times after this event and they all remained still. She started to ignore it and went with her own business. However, she quickly ran out of food and she began to starve. She ended up resorting to eating whatever was available, most of it was rotten. She very barely got by through eating this rotten food and she became very sick. After some time however, she recovered and started to get used to it.

After a couple more days, however, the miasma became overwhelming and Lemyyx, despite not knowing why it was happening, saw no other choice than to leave her home and escape the stench.

So she took to the forests again and survived by eating whatever she got by. rotten foods left in ransacked villages she encountered, carcasses of animals, no matter how long they had been dead, she became little more than a common crow. Whenever she'd face a threat in the form of a wild animal or similar, she'd defend herself with the light. But as she continued down the path of insanity, her perceptions altered and what she saw as the light was in fact shadow, so she defended herself with shadow magic, believing she was using the holy light.

Through sheer luck, she stumbled upon a few other surviving Draenei, and despite her confusion of them suddenly talking to her again, she followed them to Zangarmarsh where the rest of them were hiding, where she secluded herself from the other Draenei, whom respected her need to be alone after going through what they assumed had been hard times, although in reality, she was mad that they had “ignored” her earlier. She only stayed there for a few days, though, before the Draenei made a push for the Exodar. Even when on the move, though, Lemyyx stayed in seclusion as much as possible but was nonetheless onboard the Exodar as it took off and crashed on Azeroth.

She was injured in the crash and remained in bed while she recovered before, again, going in seclusion not far from the crashed ship. At this point, she had all but forgotten that the dead around her were in truth living and her perception of life and death became blurred and almost non-existant.

Lemyyx realized what she had done to survive on Draenor, but despite that, she didn't think much of it. She was way beyond the point sanity at this time. She's determined to do whatever is necessary to ensure her place as the only living among the dead, no matter what. In fact, it's not unusual to still see Lemyyx eating the carcass of some dead, rotten animal and sometimes even dead people if she comes across them.
