Alignment: Leere is Lawful Evil. She has a deep sense of honor and views cowardice as death and disobedience. She is considered "evil" because she was abused verbally by others in her teenage years for her beauty. She lost those who were close to her, leaving deep holes that could not be filled except by the thrill of murder and bloodshed.

Personality

She's pretty much a nasty, evil woman. Despite this, she does have a sense of honor and loyalty; she will never turn her back on a friend. Despite her alignment, she cannot stand it when no one does not help a child, because she was often teased and abused by other children when she was young. She is obedient to her superiors/employers, unless they try to cheat her or back out of a deal. She always seems calm and collected; when faced with a tough circumstance, she seems to be a quick thinker, attempting to solve the problem as fast as possible. She will occasionally tolerate those of a Lawful Good alignment, though she is very distasteful of helping them - especially if it means cooperating to obtain a personal goal. She is normally reserved unless around those who perk her interest, in which she becomes outgoing -- but only to them. Unlike most Forsaken, she doesn't seek to eradicate all life from the face of Azeroth, seeing as once that goal is complete, the Forsaken would not last long.

History

Maria grew up in the town of Brill, before Arthas Menethil killed his father and those near the kingdom of Lordaeron. She was an only child, since her mother grew ill when she was five and died. Her father was a farmer, and he was on minimum pay working in the fields. She loved helping him, taking care of the horses, and doing the chores around the house. She was often teased by the other children for her straight blonde hair because they were jealous; most of the girls had black or brown hair, and the adults would often compliment on how well she kept it clean and cared for, despite living on a farm. They would often call her ugly, and now and then she came home with a bleeding forehead from a rock thrown at her. Despite the abuse and torment, she dreamed one day of being able to do much more than farm work and living a life of abuse from those around her -- she dreamed to go out and be a helping hand in battle, sabotage the enemy Horde's camps, and make a fortune big enough to allow her father to not work in the fields.

By the time she was 14, however, her father fell ill with a fever that, in the end, left him completely blind. She was devastated. She had to find a way to take care of the house, and the answer came in the form of a man named Jeremiah Nelson, a well-trained assassin. She approached him, explaining her situation to him, and he agreed to train her as a Rogue. He would send her to hunt down and kill criminals, as well as clear out Gnoll and Murloc settlements that got too close to home, all the while showing her the ropes and going with her to teach her more in the deadly art of assassination. It was not long until Maria had made a name for herself in the community, but all the work she went through to help her father was done in vain; he died from the same illness that claimed Maria's mother a month after she began her training.

When she turned 20, she had become a full-fledged Rogue, taking on jobs to kill those who cheated others out of their pay. And those who cheated her wound up with a dagger to their throat. When she saw that more and more opportunities arose in the main city, she decided to move into Lordaeron. Two days after, Prince Arthas returned -- and when he killed his father and all of Lordaeron, she was one of the many people slaughtered. She was risen thereafter, and once that happened, she continued her work as a deadly rogue, carrying out many missions that involved bloodshed. She eventually grew to like her job, and when the Forsaken formed, she was one of the many to side with them.

She would then begin to take on jobs to kill all those who dared defy the Dark Lady's command, making sure all those who disobeyed were dispatched. She eventually earned a nickname from the other Rogues around her who would watch her heartless slaughtering and careless torture. Because she had solid black eyes from the plague, they nicknamed her Leere, as those soulless eyes were possibly the last thing one would look into if they dared tempt her wrath.
