Personality

Lannarian is a kind man, willing to help most who come looking for knowledge. His work takes him far across the lands of Azeroth to find and copy ancient texts, "recover" artifacts from graves, temples, and hedge-wizards, and advise teams of Magi on the appropriate use of certain magical devices. His work allows him a great amount of contact with the world, and allows him to continue the work of his forefathers in spreading the knowledge of the Arcane throughout the world.

While he is not an evil man, he believes all unclaimed or "poorly utilized" magical artifacts belong to Dalaran. He won't hesitate to steal something that he thinks would be better off in the hands of a professional such as himself. Due in part to the great number of Elves in Dalaran, Lannarian believes his kind are solely suited for the proper use of magic, but holds a certain hope that lesser races might come close to the understanding of the Elves through proper magical education.

History

Lannarian's history doomed him to a fate of shuffling books from place to place, or so many would say. Of course it was true, but he rather likes his job. The Quel'dorei House of Duril was of no particular importance in politics, but they held a special place in the background of many noble houses. The Durils were librarians, a familial order of catalogers and creators of tomes and magical artifice that had members working throughout the order of the High Elven caste system.

It was only a matter of course that Dalaran would accept such into their numbers, and Lannarian was in such a group. He began his training as a librarian formally in Dalaran, under the tutelage of a senior member of his family. He became an assistant, and then a full librarian, years before the Scourge would arrive, but took on an important role only after the ravaging of the city.

Having not escaped Dalaran, Lannarian spent time cowering in the basements of the city with many of his order. The Archivists of Dalaran did their best to preserve the knowledge of ages from the onslaught of murdering hordes and rampant magical fire. It was during this time that Lannarian learned how to siphon mana to sate his addiction, and became a Blood Elf.

With the war long over, Lannarian's duties have changed. As a survivor of the old order, he was sent out into the world to catalog and return stolen artifacts, find copies of missing tomes, or appropriate any kind of mystical artifact for the rebuilding of Dalaran's archives.
