History

Krest was the first born to Van Fairstar, the current Patron. From the time he was old enough to understand, he was tutored in the ways of managing the house he would one day inherit. The training consisted on constant memorization of current deals and how to properly deal with other houses so that he might have examples of what they looked for. In his early thirties his father gifted him his first blade, a short sword that was barely any longer than his forearm. On top of the house matters, he was schooled in how to use the weapon for the next decade where he would be introduced and trained in even more blades after the first. Krest was also introduced to the art of smithing during the time the swordplay was going on.

Krest had no social life for his early life. He didn't hate it, but he certainly didn't enjoy it. Constantly learning how to run the house and how to use new blades ate up almost all of his time. But a shock came after his 200th birthday. His father kicked him out of the manor and told him to live on his own. Krest had to gulp down his pride and leave, wandering the world. Though his father was not a cruel man. Guards watched Krest wherever he went, being sure to keep him safe from danger.

It didn’t take long for the young elf to find a job. He was well trained in swordplay, and the skill proved invaluable in securing him a job as a deckhand. Not because he had a talent with a blade, but because he knew patiences. In the end that’s how he ended up meeting his future wife Arasinya. She was a wild soul who loved to tease and torture Krest. He never once got angry at her because of it though. The two fell in love, a foolish kind of love. They married weeks after first getting together. Then Krest’s father sent for him.

The thought of seeing his father again mixed with the fact that he had married a commoner terrified the young elf. He had always always assumed that it was forbidden, but much to his surprise it wasn’t. Van was overjoyed and Arasinya was welcomed with open arms. The two lived happily, Krest continuing his training and Arasinya assisting with the sailors.

They had five children together, and each was loved with every ounce of being Krest and Arasinya had. Each was taught how to not only how to use a blade early on, but how to smith as well. They were taught how to be proper amongst other families and in public, but also how to be themselves and not simply puppets.

His life remained the same for many years until Krest joined the military. He felt he needed real military training instead of just swordplay. During this time he met a Ken Mellowfeild, a brash human. Ken was arrogant and racist, upholding a peculiar sense of honor. The two were often put together to patrol, and it was only a couple months after the two had met that bandits attacked them. Ken was badly injured in the fight and it was Krest who dragged him away, bloody himself. Krest saved Ken’s life, and in return Ken pledged that he would repay the debt. But the two never saw each other again. Krest left the military, returning home.

The Fairstars left for vacation every year, always during the same time. It was a tradition from when Krest was a child, and he was sure to keep it going. It was during one of these trips that he and his family collapsed on the boat trip home. His chest felt empty, as if something had been ripped from him. He returned to Silvermoon to see it split in two and broken. The scourge had destroyed the Sunwell.

They joined many of the High Elves in becoming Blood Elves. There was no contempt from any of the Fairstars about this for many wanted to stick with their people and join the Horde. The transition proved to still allow them to keep their trade up, selling to their new allies instead of the Human, Dwarves, and Gnomes. Korvus, Krest’s younger brother, left for Northrend along with one of Krest’s daughters, but this proved to be a terrible choice. His daughter died in Northrend, returning with as a Death Knight with a Fairstar whose hair turned white. The two were accepted back into the family none the less however. They were family, and Krest was just happy they came back at all.

Krest ruled the House as best as he could, but he needed to do something. Take action. He appointed his brother and two others temporary leaders of the house and he left, creating the Dawns Reach. He fought against the Twilight Hammer for years, waging a secret war with the group until Deathwing took flight. His wife was traveling across the sea during the black dragons flgiht, and it resulted in her death. The Dawns Reach dismantled shortly after Krest learned of the news. He returned home heartbroken, but he didn't return home alone. A Blood Elf named Kryox had an obsession with Krest. Kryox was a nutcase that wanted nothing more than to end Krest. Kryox was so desperate to kill him that he took Krest’s daughter and heir, Syleai, hostage. Krest needed to end Kryox then, knowing that the man would never leave his family alone. He had a plan and called in a long time favor from the Mellowfeilds, hoping that they would help set a trap for Kryox. Sangin took up the offer to appease his families honor and was going to heal Krest after the battle, which saddly wasn’t Krest’s plan.

Krest died in that fight. In a matter of moments his arm was removed and his neck was run through. He died choking on his blood with his daughter’s tearful gaze on him. Kryox disappeared after that, but not before taking Krest’s three blades. Sangin came in then, taking his body away before anyone else could, leaving for Dustwallow Marsh. Krest came back to life there in a small hut, broken and weak. But he was still determined.. Krest asked the man for one last favor. A mage to teach Krest.

Krest now trains himself in Dustwallow, trying to learn how to move on his own again and use magic to assist his movements. His ultimate goal is to return home and take control of his family once more.
