Personality

The lack of social contact Kraun has had leaves him a gruff and very awkward person to socialize with. He stays quiet during most conversations and almost seems to prefer whispering to his kodo. Kraun is definitely not comfortable in cities as much as he is out in the wild. He is the type of person to ignore subtle remarks, idioms and metaphors. Not because he deliberately wants to, but because he takes everything literally. His humor is blunt, if any.

He prefers large animals; The bigger, the better. If he comes across someone with a pet, he'll talk to the creature more than the master. Even though he wants to be friendly around people he comes off as a gruff, brute that doesn't want anything to do with anyone. Even fellow Tauren might find it hard to communicate with him.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

History

Kraun was raised in the barrens long before Mulgore was retaken by the mighty Tauren. He had found his bond with animals to be much stronger than with others of his herd. Kraun was a gifted beastmaster, almost able to speak in the tongue of beasts. His first real beast taming was a great black lion of the plains. He instantly fell in love with the beast. He spent days watching it. Observing patiently and studying carefully, he eventually sprung a brilliant trap. It was a masterpiece he was very proud of and had already begun bragging in his head how he would tell of the amazing story of how he had managed to capture such a fine feline... However as he romanticized the thought Kraun had realized where he was standing a bit too late. The large Tauren was actually quite proud of his ability to trap such a massive creature, even if it was himself.

After two days of hanging upside down in a barrens tree, a band of centaur managed to stumble across the tauren and cut him down only to drag him off to their camp. He was locked in a wooden cage next to a rather rude quillboar. Kraun ignored his fellow captive for about an hour before he managed to rock his cage from side to side forcefully enough until it tipped over. The good news was he managed to knock out the quillboar, but the bad news was the crash was loud enough for the centaur to hear him. He grabbed a stick from the broken cage and hid behind the tent flap ready to pounce on anything that came charging in... However... nothing ever did. After several minutes of standing with a stick raised threateningly above his head he finally peeked out.

To his surprise the centaur were all dead. Blood, hair, disemboweled hooves... That was all that remained from them. In the middle of the camp sat the great black lion he had been stalking. Or rather he had figured out "he" was the one being followed... The two became close very quickly. Kraun bestowed his new companion the name, "Blackfang", from the day he peeked out from the tent... The majestic lion was grooming Himself. His teeth stained black from the blood of the wretched centaur.

He was a strong bull by the time Thrall and his Horde landed in Kalimdor. Kraun was very intrigued and found it an excellent excuse to practice his beast handling. He trained Kodo and Wyverns for the horde for many years. However, when the Dark Portal started seeing more use Kraun tried his attempt at mastering the beasts of Outland. It was difficult at first considering the talbuks are nowhere near being similar to kodo. After a year he headed back to his homeland and stayed in Thunderbluff for a while...

Kraun today is more interested in the beasts of this world than anything else. He has yet to travel north but soon... He wants to challenge himself again and tame the mightiest beasts of Northrend with the help of his faithful companion Blackfang.
