Kothos is mostly like other priests, they're calm and patient, trying to solve problems with patience, but Kothos also has another side: When he sees the situation worthy enough, he will raise his voice and he will use force to calm the situation down. He never does something that he thinks is wrong, no matter how much people ask or beg him to do it.

History

It was a late evening, the sky had darkened and the stars were visible. A boy screamed for help in the woods. Fortunately, a fellow priest happened to go by, he ran to the boy and saw that the boy was attacked by a wild lynx. The priest mumbled some prayers quickly and the lynx fell before him. The boy looked frightened and had many wounds from the lynx attack, he was crying.

The priest crouched in front of the boy: "No need to worry, young boy, I won't hurt a fellow Sin'dorei." and he started to mumbling something, reaching his hand to the boy.

The boy stumbled back a little, but the priest still reached the boy's wounds with his hand. As soon as he touched the wounds, the boy felt good in the places priest touched the wounds and he saw that the wounds are growing back together in front of his eyes.

The boy went closer to the priest: "I'm Kothos, what's your name?" he said, his voice still sounding like crying a little.

"I'm Nemet," said the priest calmly while concentrating on Kothos's wounds, "nice to meet you."

Kothos smiled at Nemet and wiped his tears.

"You know, you can't go into woods like this by yourself," Nemet continued, "young Sin'dorei are rare enough, you want to make them ever rarer?" continued Nemet with a little smile on his face.

"I'm sorry," Kothos said, "but you helped me, I'm okay!"

"Yes, I did for now," said Nemet while sighing "but I can't help you every time something happens, I'm not always around you."

"Are you a mage?" Kothos asked while fascinated how quickly Nemet managed to heal the wounds, "I want to be like you!"

Nemet laughed a bit: "No, no, I'm a... priest."

Kothos looked at Nemet: "A light priest?"

Nemet looked at Kothos with a serious face, thinking for a second and then said: "Let's say I'm neither Light nor Shadow priest."

"I want to be like you!" Kothos said with a little louder voice, having a big smile on his face.

"Well, I guess I could take a student, I me-" started Nemet

Kothos jumped to Nemet's neck, hugging him: "Yaaayyy!" he shouted

Kothos learned under Nemet for a little over 100 years, every day training being harser than the previous.

Oned day Kothos saw Nemet use shadow magic against a wild lynx who approached him. Nemet didn't notice Kothos, until he came closer.

After the lynx fell, Kothos went to Nemet: "How...I-.... Ligh.... Sha...." he stumbled

Nemet said harshly: "Out with it, boy!"

Kothos took a deep breath and asked: "How do you use both Light and Shadow magic?"

Nemet looked around quickly, then put a hand on Kothos's mouth and whispered: "Quiet, you fool! We'll talk about at my home."

On the way home Kothos tried to take the topic up many times, but Nemet made made him shut up.

When they got to Nemet's home, Nemet went to the dining room and sat down: "I was hoping I never had to teach you this," he said, "for this is magic is not tolerated in most places."

Kothos shouted: "I have been training for 100 years with you and you didn't even MENTION the fact that it's possible to use both, you made me train in Light magic and I didn't even know that I could start to use Shadow magic! Ofcourse I'm ready to take the risk!"

Nemet sighed: "I'll warn you: If you ever get caught, there's a high risk you'll be killed."

Kothos looked down for a few seconds, then raised his head and told Nemet: "I'm ready for it."

Nemet taught Kothos, that when you want to use them both, you need to use them for only things you think are right, you can't use neither of the power for power, money or fame.

About 50 years passed while being trained under Nemet.

One day Kothos went to Nemet's place with a basket full of all kinds of food to offer Nemet, because Nemet didn't take any money, but he had nothing against taking food when he was offered. When Kothos got to Nemet's house he saw that guards had found out he uses Shadow magic and had surrounded Nemet.

Nemet looked at Kothos: "Leave! You don't need to watch this!"

Kothos grinned: "Didn't you tell me I need to get used to the risks?"

Nemet's eyes went large from the surprise: "What are you saying?"

Kothos continued: "I want to see what happens when I'm reckless," he said, "you said yourself the risk is big, so I think what happens right now is the only good thing."

"Don't you have any respect?!" Nemet shouted, "I'm your master!"

"I sure do have respect," replied Kothos, "but I need to get familiar with the risks. I need to start accepting it, else I may not live long enough to enjoy it."

"I saved your life!" Nemet said out still shouting, but a sad tone in his voice.

Kothos grinned:"I'm not gonna save yours," he said holding back a minor laugh, "you're gonna get what you deserve for hiding power from me for 100 years."

The guards looked at eachother, not really understanding what Kothos and Nemet are talking about.

A guard said: "Beat it, it's going to get messy here, you should get out if you don't want to see your "master" die, or whoever he is to you."

"Oh, I wanna see alright," Kothos grinned, "I may even learn something."

"As you wish, don't blame us later." the guard told him.

As soon as the guard drew his weapon, Nemet's body went dark and he broke free from the guards. He managed to get out of the house and the last thing Kothos saw him doing was attack him, because then Kothos collapsed.

When Kothos woke up 3 days later at his home, he decided to kill his master himself, because he thought that's the right thing to do.
