Personality

Korbas is twitchy, angry, cocky, and in many cases, hazardous. He will often put his luck and skill to the test. He is easily a Risk for Reward kind of person. He will often acknowledge people with a swift thumbs-up or a "Yeah-yeah". He has little respect for elders, and much less for elders of another race. He is selfish at his core and has little love for his government, much less anyone else's. Korbas has found out the pleasures of a full pocket and has trouble putting people who jeopardize that very high on his list.

History

Korbas grew up in Westfall, the youngest son of nine. His father, a war veteran from all three wars, had earned the rights and deed to a farmstead out in Westfall. A neglected region, Lord Deftstep was hardly happy. Him and his wife barely squeezed a life out of it and bore nine sons and a daughter. Korbas was the youngest by several years and found that his luck, whether good or bad, was the deciding factor for most of the events of his life.

Him and his brothers drew straws of hay for who would work on certain days. Korbas was usually the one to work as the courier or the runner. He was also the scout for the farmstead, alerting his brothers of any incoming threat so they'd be ready. Korbas had to be fast. Very fast. He sometimes ran whole days to keep sharp, and to make sure he was the first to everything. It was not strange to see Korbas up before everyone else, first to breakfast, first to lunch, first to dinner, and first to get angry in many cases. Korbas had possibly the most explosive temper which often puts him undesirably close to danger.

His brothers, along with himself were like a pack of wolves. If they couldn't bargain or negotiate with it, they beat it senseless. If Defias came by with anything less of a small army, they made sure to run them through awfully quick. If they did come with an army, they had to pay up. Gnolls and independent bandits couldn't stand a chance. Soon enough, the Defias got wise to the Deftstep family. They moved in with large groups to ensure they got a fair tribute. Soon the Deftstep family couldn't handle feeding twelve people and micro-managing a farm.

The man of the house, Sir Waldon Deftstep had grown sick, partly from the stress of such a difficult time in his life. Within a year of paying steady tribute to the Defias, Waldon was unable to keep up on his health. Whilst traveling to visit a Priest, he died on the road and was brought back by Korbas one early morning. The Deftstep family soon fell into dismay.

One day, the brothers met in the nearby stables and decided to draw straws for the fate of their house. One brother would go to Stormwind and petition for help. It was luck that sent Korbas to Stormwind, in vain. Once reaching the city, Korbas soon learned there was no love for his kind. After repeated attempts, and being shunned aside, Korbas learnt to fend for himself. He remained in Stormwind for a month, learning the streets while attempting to get the help his family needed. Korbas decided he stayed to long and returned to his home.

Without their scout, the family had become almost entirely unable to fight off the threats of Westfall. Korbas had approached, and couldn't recognize his home. He couldn't return empty-handed and ran. He ran back to Stormwind and instead of asking for help, he took it. He spent about another month scrounging what he could, stealing what he could, and returned with a wagon full of food, clothes, weapons, and money. When he made it to his home, his family nearly forgot what he looked like, but took him back in nevertheless.

Now, his family has been in decent shape, believing their precious 'Runt' is getting help from Stormwind in the most legal way possible. To this day Korbas makes deals with the devil to secure his family in a way his father never could.

Extended History (RP): Although his time with the Cartel has been brief, it has been fruitful. Korbas has just recently seen the possibilities available to him. He has tricked two men into fighting and pulled bets, and forced one of them into slavery. Korbas also has his eyes set on Drug-running, and possibly forced prostitution. Good old extortion always works too. He has sold a Night-Elves body to his beloved. Korbas has put on a tiny bit more weight, seeing how he can actually afford to eat now, but he has not slacked off one bit.

Korbas has grown somewhat unattached to his family. He figures, 'Why help them if they can't help themselves?' and Korbas takes fewer and fewer trips there and shares less and less with them. Korbas has bulked up something since joining Steamwheedle. He has been fed more and more, and exercises far more. He's become a smarter person, but he's just beginning to appreciate law and order. Korbas has grown up more, and realizes that as much as he hates order, it works for him if he pulls the right strings. Korbas likes to be the spectator nowadays and prefers to never get noticed.

Korbas has taken up more jobs in the Cartel, his influence has grown. He works as a private advertiser and a shipping processor. This has given him the chance to do a lot of traveling and he realizes how dangerous the real world is. Korbas has buffed up a bit from his emaciated old self.
