Appearance

Kelian is almost always seen wearing some worn, crimson dress with various runes, sewn in with golden, thread running down either side of her person. The runes emit a faint light in the dark, and flash from time to time at seemingly random intervals. The thing is obviously a hand-me-down from all of the wear on the clothing. While not particularly short or thin or tall or fat, the lady is curvaceous to a certain extent, her bust quite full for her size.

Other: The magi often uses the Arcane to do simple tasks such as placing a book on the right shelf from a distance, or snuffing out candles and the like. Vary rarely is she seen actually opening doors manually or carrying books in either arm.

Personality

Kelian attempts to be social as much as possible, although she is rather shy at heart and would rather bury her nose in a book than go out to drink at the local pub. She plays with her hair nervously, or bites her lower lip and even talks to herself when unsure as of what should be said or done. She prefers the use of diplomacy and reason rather than displays of physical prowess, and tries her hardest to be as direct as possible when conversing with another.

History

Born in the city of Strathlome into a simple family of three, Kelian had a relativity 'normal' childhood. Her parents, while not incredibly wealthy, could afford some amount of basic schooling to the extent that she could read basic passages, write short phrases here and there in addition to doing simple calculations. Rather than go outside on a sunny day with her brother and the rest of the children to play battle in the streets outside of her home, she would stay locked up in her and her sibling's room, reading and writing, trying to do all she could to further herself in the pursuit of knowledge. This went on, her self teaching, for nearly nine years. Nothing note worthy really happened during her time in Strathlome, save the purging that Arthas preformed.

The woman barely escaped the paladin's massacre of the city's people; Lady luck was on her side.

Kelian had the pleasure of running out to the local market every few days with her brother to gather the day's needed provisions. It was just one of those relatively normal, warm days in the city with children running about and playing in the streets, merchants peddling their wares to the various travelers and townsfolk. It wasn't until a loud shriek disrupted the commoner's going-ons that anything seemed 'off'. At the scream, nearly every man and woman in the square whirled about to see the prince beating a peasant to a pulp with his war hammer. There was a short silence as the crowd stared speechless, the split-second that realization was hitting every person in the area but before it truly settled in.

And then there was the panic.

Nearly every person in the town's center rushed around, screaming out and wailing as they proceed to trample other commoners who just happened to fall underfoot, knocking over food stalls and crashing through signs in the street. Amidst the chaos that was the fleeing from Arthas, Kelian and her brother were separated, either person lost in the crowd. The woman was shoved around harshly and was nearly knocked prone by the panicking peasants, but she managed to keep up and going, running through narrow corridors and alleyways here, ducking into alcoves to avoid swarms of men there. While dashing through some street or another, the miss caught sight of something that nearly made her drop dead on the spot. She saw ghouls forming about a group of downed humans, hungrily gnawing at the corpses.

Kelian shrieked out, face turned pale as snow. The undead creations quickly turned to face the noise and soon spotted the lady. At first they hesitated to make any advancements, but it didn't take long before they hurled themselves at Kelian, coming towards her at an alarming rate. Liquid fire seemed to run through her veins, adrenal glands kicking in at the sight of the advancing horde. The lady pushed off and ran down the street from the deaders, jumping clean over benches and crates in her path. As she was to round the next corner, a hand shot out from some shop's door way or another to seize her by the back of her dress and yank her inside. Kelian was about to yelp once again but a padded glove came about her mouth to stifle the noise. From her position in the doorway, she could see only stone before her, and the ghouls still running down the street from the corner of her eye, chasing after some new prey, presumably.

The native of Strathlome rolled her eyes back in her head, breathing a sigh of relief, but her moment of rest soon fades as the figure that just saved her yanks her forcibly into the shoppe. What she could see while being pushed and dragged around the building was all manner of odd things stored in jars of sickly, green liquid. Dismembered hands and eyes floated freely in the containers. After a minute of travel through the structure, Kelian was tossed to the floor. She grunted as she hit the floor and skidded along. Her savior, from what she could see, was another woman who was garbed in a neat crimson and gold robe with a matching cloak that covered her eyes.

Before the protagonist of the story could make heads or tails of what was going on, she was blinded by a great light, and before she knew it, she was prone in the grasses of Elwynn Forest. The next few weeks were a blur, as her savior dragged her through the southern lands. The pair hardly talked to each other in the month that they traveled to Stormwind. Kelian dared not break the silence that the two shared while they walked on to the newly rebuilt city; She worked on assumptions. If her savior was to stop and search about for tinder and firewood, then she assumed that the camp was to be set up. When the woman tossed her cloak to Kelian, she assumed that it was to be used as a blanket for the night.

The day that the two were just outside of Stormwind was the day that Kelian decided to speak up. "Uh, miss?" she questioned.

The robed woman remained silent as they traveled down the worn path to the city's gates for a good minute or two before she responded. "Yes? What is it?"

"I was just wondering-"

The magi rolled her eyes as she interrupted the young girl. "No, I'm not going to sell you off to some brothel. Yes, I'll house and clothe you. We always need more able-bodied people, and you look like you'd be just a grand little thing to have up in the Tower, now, hush."

Kelian blinked for a moment in thought as the pair continued to wander through Stormwind. They hung a left and a right and a left, a left, a right, and continued to make some strange path through the city before the robed woman stopped dead in her tracks, Kelian running right into her back. She takes a step backwards to gaze upon what was the cause of the sudden halt, and her jaw drops, eyes widening. It was a marvelous sight, the Mage Tower of Stormwind. It seemed to pierce the heavens to the girl and she stood and gawked for a great while, the robed woman already heading off to the building.

For four years Kelian scanned over the tomes in the structure, learning all she could from her savior and now mentor; A lady by the name of Miria of Hillsbrad. There is little to be said about Kelian's learnings in Stormwind, other than make note of her mentor's passing. As Miria came under some terrible sickness around year 32, Kelian was to always be at her side, learning what she could from her instructor's long, rambling speeches while she lay in bed at the infirmary. Only recently did she pass and donate what little possessions she owned to Kelian; Custom-tailored robes and cloak, a very fine wand with etching along the side, and a grand total of nearly one hundred gold coins, and every other worldly possesion the woman had. The two had grown quite fond of one another in their time together at the Tower, and it was known to all of Miria's students and underlings that Kelian was her favorite, and was treated as such.

Currently, she is out on her own and searching for any way to further her education. Every chance that she gets to learn something new about the Arcane, or any thing for that matter, she'll jump at it. And if there is something be gained in addition to knowledge? All the better! This said, Kelian is slowly becoming more of a Jack of All Trades, working on everything she can, from First Aid to Alchemy to Botany and the like.

What is next in store for the magi? Time will only tell.
