Personality

Karzan is more then often a kind person willing to lend a hand and a smile but if someone was to insult or harm one of his friends in any way he would be more then willing to throw a punch for them. Because of such, in battle it is possible for him to have times when he cannot control his rage and go into a natural berserker state which many Trolls are capable of doing. Despite these, he will try to remain calm at all times with meditation and simple relaxing whenever he possibly can. He tends to enjoy talking to the Elemental Spirits and sitting in the wilds to just listen to the sounds around him.

When it comes to racial tension, Karzan isn't one to submit to them very often. Despite this, he is much more trusting of anyone in the Old Horde then he is with the Sin'dorei and in turn he trusts them more then the Alliance. However, because of the fact that the Forsaken and Death Knights go against the nature of the world, he has a distinct dislike for them and trusts the words of the Spirits when it comes to them being abominations.

History

At the time, the Darkspear Islands where a peaceful place, the Darkspear Trolls were living happily in their own society. During this time, there was a festival held on to place the Loa and pray for their safety in the islands. It was here that one of the warriors of the tribe snuck off before everyone else with his woman, his trophy, and it was then that a child was conceived. Within the next nine months, that woman's stomach grew and grew until one day the child was born. He was immediately dubbed, by his father, 'Karzan'.

This Troll was born to the warrior as his first born and that warrior felt that Karzan would be his greatest son and child. The mother, however, never had a say in what happened to Karzan and despite her wishing to speak up, she never did. As of such, that warrior, Karzan's father, taught him his ways from a young age and he showed promise in this profession of his father's. It was only when Karzan was three that he was given a sister, another child, and the father was now happy that he had a daughter, someone he could use as a bargaining chip later in her life.

As the time passed by on the islands, it was shown that Karzan was very protective of his sister and this only grew stronger with time. As a little child, he resorted to shoving children who tried to get too close to her. As an adolescent, this changed to throwing punches at anyone who thought they owned her. Once he was an adult, he wished for any male to prove themselves against him in a fight due to the fact he didn't want someone weak to be having their way with his sibling. His father simply watched on with a grin, happy he didn't have to do the job himself.

Once Karzan himself came of age, he gained himself a woman. This woman was one of his father's close friends and in return for giving him his daughter, their father would build a hut for the man. Of course, his father never wished to do so along and Karzan was forced to help him but neither of them minded at all and simply wished to get the job done. Suffice to say, both Karzan and his father were happy with the trophy they received as she was a very pretty woman with a smile on her face which seemed impossible to erase. She seemed happy.

Both of them were together for quite some time and it was at a festival, much alike the one Karzan's father use to attend, that he chose to do something which would change his life. He followed in his father footsteps and took his woman away from the festival while it was being held and spent a long night with her. As she awoke in the morning, she was baring Karzan's child. Like father like son, it seems. In the days following, Karzan watches as his woman smiled and gently rub her own belly, knowing that something was growing inside of her, she seemed like she couldn't wait to see it's face.

It was around this time that the native murlocs started to get strangely aggressive towards the Darkspear Tribe. This aggression escalated rapidly and before the Trolls knew it, they were defending their towns against raids from the creatures. Kidnappings, pillages, all of these were happening more often every day and they tried their best to stop it. Karzan was one of the ones who was chosen to defend the villages and he did so with valor. Sadly, because he was chosen to protect the villages against raids, he couldn't defend his own home. It or his woman.

The fish monsters attacked the are Karzan lived in while he was out defending another village against a raid. Every house was torn down and none were left alive, not one. Not even his own woman. She died, six months pregnant, while he could do nothing to stop it. But she was just a trophy, just his woman, he shouldn't be too sad about it. That's what he thought, he didn't understand why the tears were forming in his eyes. This was the time he finally understood after all this time, he missed her, he never wanted this to happen, he finally understood, for the first time in his life, that he loved her.

Before long, some time after the murlocs fighting began to intensify even greater, the Horde who arrived some time beforehand were off with the Darkspear Tribe. Upon their arrival to the unknown land of Kalimdor, Karzan met an elderly Orc shaman who thought he could help guide the Troll onto the right path. At first, Karzan thought he was just an annoying bastard but before long he was listening to every word that came out of his mouth with curiosity. It was then he became apprenticed to the shaman and begun to learn what he could about the Elemental Spirits.

Then, the Third War. Karzan took both what he knew about the Elemental Spirits and his swordsmanship to fight against his foes but, he found the Spirits didn't answer him. After he fought a few of the battles, he was angry and returned to his master and asked him in fury why they weren't responding to his calls. The old Orc clearly knew why and told the Troll to spend ten days and ten nights in the wilderness with no contact with anyone and only living off what he can find without harming another living being. Karzan was reluctant at first but agreed to the elder and went off.

For ten days and ten nights Karzan survived in the wilderness with no contact with anyone but the creatures around him. That is, until the last day. A wandering Kaldorei found the Troll camping and, due to it being a time of war, her first instinct was to kill the man. Thus, she attempted to do so, getting off the first barrage of shots at Karzan before he noticed her and despite being wounded by one, he fought back fiercely and, for the first time in battle, the Elemental Spirits answered his call and subdued her. He was going to kill her, she knew that too but he did something which surprised not only her, but himself. He let her go.

She ran after some hesitation, not even whispering a thank you to the Troll and never speaking of the event to her sisters. Karzan, however, grew from the experience and understood that the Elemental Spirits are not called upon to destroy life but to save it from harm. The Kaldorei had no plans to harm the balance of the world and thus Karzan knew that he shall no longer harm them. Luckily for him, by the time this was over, so was the Third War. Archimonde was destroyed and the Horde gained a foothold in Kalimdor, creating a new home for themselves in the barren lands of Durotar.

Karzan continued to remain under the wing of the elderly Orc as he continued to teach him the ways of the Elemental Spirits. Once the Orc told Karzan he had taught him all he could, he sent the Troll off onto a journey to become more connected with the Elemental Spirits. This journey involved collecting representations of the Spirits from various areas of the world. The only hint the Orc gave Karzan was to find the Spirit of Water within the lands of Winterspring. He begun his pilgrimage there and once he reached the area, he followed the flow of the Water and before long, he found a spring in the frozen lands, he could clearly hear the Spirit of Water whispering to him.

He took some of the water within the jar and begun to hear the whispers even clearer then before and, for the first time since he learned the ways of the Shaman, he begun to speak. Karzan began to speak to the Spirit of Water as if it was just another person and the Spirit replied to him gladly. As he traveled his way back to the land of Durotar, he became increasingly friendly with the jar of water he kept tied to his belt before he didn't even notice he was speaking to a Spirit, but a friend. Because of such, his ability to control the element of water only increased.

Now, he begins his journey, searching for the last four elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Wilds.
