Personality

Kagrune is a lively orc. Like others, he holds honor very dear to himself and holds others to the standards of honor. Kagrune's code of honor's general rule is this; be unique, do not give up, accept help but never ask, offer help to another weaker warrior he is aligned with. He tends to be bright and optimistic about the situation, and has a wide sense of humor. Intelligent jokes don't necessarily always go over his head, but he can enjoy gutter humor as much as everyone else. He tends to be stubborn, especially concerning knowledge of combat and dancing, but will back down when it comes to other areas that he is not as skilled in.

Kagrune was, at one point, a very prideful and impulsive orc who hated the very idea of over-analyzing a situation, preferring to allow his gut to lead him towards victory in any situation. Since his "humbling", however, he has wised up, becoming a bit more patient and obviously humble. He still follows his duty to the Horde, not believing in pacifism or anything like that, but is a bit slower to anger and to rush into combat than he once was. Kagrune is an enlightened orc, dispensing wisdom as needed to the younger generations of the new Horde, and encouraging those he can to slay demons whenever, as he still holds a burning hatred of them, one greater than his fear of the undead.

History

Kagrune was born into the Warsong clan during the Orcish civil war, his father a warrior named Koris Stonespine and his mother a fire-based shaman named Morka Fireheart. Kagrune grew up learning how to fight with his father and how to forge armor from a family friend named Krug Metalsplinter. When not learning with his father or the art of armorsmithing from Krug, Kagrune would bash heads with the other young orcs of the clan, often large-scale brawls breaking out between the children. Thanks to all these fights, either he broke his fists or broke someone else's bones, hence the name "Shatterfist". It made them stronger, and thus wasn't stopped by the mature orcs. The random disputes became more uniform and formal as they began training as soldiers, a long war expected in the conquering of Azeroth. After reaching maturity, Kagrune was hungry for a real battle. Due to the close proximity of the Shattered Hand, he traveled there and requested that he be sent to war, not wishing to spill orc blood but the blood of a true enemy. Accepted, he was shortly thereafter sent to Azeroth in the First War. He was a front line soldier in the sacking of Stormwind, and was one of the surviving grunts who successfully destroyed the city. During the celebration of that victory, he conceived a son, with no intention of actually procreating. Following the end of the First War, Kagrune found himself with the task of hunting down human runners. Feeling it too dishonorable to cut down his opponents with his axe, he pursued them wearing only his armor and brandishing his own two fists. He fought in numerous battles this way, finding combat more enjoyable (and preferable) without the burden of a weapon. Inspired by this style of combat, he returned to Draenor to see his clan again, and followed the path of the blacksmith and began to forge his armor. He spent all of this downtime forging his very own special suit, adorned with spikes and shaped to fit only him.

When the Second War began, Kagrune once again answered the call to arms. After only two short months, however, he was grieviously injured in a skirmish, and was bedridden for a week. A broadsword had come across his midsection, and he'd lost a lot of blood. After being given some time off, it was determined that he was no longer fit for action, and sent back to his clan on Draenor. He eventually recovered, but mentally he was wounded. His personal defeat shook him, and he wanted to grow stronger. After all his years of training, he was still beaten. He returned to the civilian populace of the Warsong Clan to recover and train. It was here that he began to learn the art of dancing, and eventually incorporating his dances into combat. He no longer underestimated the humans, and was eager to fight against them again. So when Grommash Hellscream rounded up a large group of Warsong orcs to enter through the portal, he volunteered, and followed him in the fight to free the orcs from their internment camps. He kept up his hobby of dancing along with his combat training, always intertwining them whenever he could.

Kagrune traveled with Thrall and his own clan to Kalimdor, instantly taking a liking to their new allies. However, when the clans separated, Kagrune followed Thrall, not content to cutting lumber (and being a multi-clan orc, was given a choice). As such, he was not present when the rest of the Warsong clan drank the tainted waters and became fel orcs. He was one of the first grunts to charge against them, spurred on by the hope that his clan could be redeemed. After the victory, and the Warsong Clan redeemed by the new Horde, Kagrune helped construct Orgrimmar (through guarding and scouting parties, he was no peon). The now older orc eventually ended up leaving his people and meeting a new mate, Juna, to found a new clan called the Wildhunt Clan. However, he nearly died during a fight with an infernal in Nagrand, and being thought slain, was left for dead. The Mag'har decided to save him through healing magic, and Juna went missing, never to be seen again. Kagrune saw that he needed to learn humility, and has since been in hiding, being a beggar and learning how to be patient and tolerant all over Azeroth.

Now, after feeling his new training as an elder complete, Kagrune is willing to come out of hiding and interact with his loved ones again. He's rejoined the Warsong Clan, and is now seeking out his family to see how they've fared.
