His brother's death, which was caused by himself, pushed him over the edge, getting him consumed with insanity. It causes him to say or do weird things, basically acting like a nutter sometimes. He's usually more shy around women than around men, sometimes even too shy. His hobbies are playing with his magic and fishing. He can act the way you least expect, also caused by his insanity. He's pretty lazy but always tries to win every argue and fight that he has with others, sometimes not giving up even when he sees he's wrong. As most Blood Elves, he's selfish and egoist, thinking he's the best in everything, even though he doesn't say it out loud. He's pretty sadistic, enjoying the screams and pain of others. He can be arrogant, but it all depends on his mood. Mostly he loves being a smart-ass.

History

He grew up in a peaceful village that was untouched by the scourge and lived a rather simple life. Both of his parents were peasants who were working for a local merchant. When Kael came to the age of 15 he started his first accidental fire with magic. It was at this time that his parents had begged a local mage to teach their son how to control and use his magic. They knew that he deserved a better life then they could give him and this was the chance. Kael spent from age 15 to 110 learning magic from his master, devoting all of his time to learn the art of being a mage. Even though his parents sent him away for his own good he longed to return to them and improve their lives with his skills. His master told him such dreams were unwise and it was best to simply focus upon his studies.

When Kael had become an adult his teacher willingly let Kael leave, confident that he would do well in the world. In less then a week after leaving his master's care, Kael got into trouble. He had been walking along a road, talking to himself, when out of nowhere he was hit from behind with a fireball. The fireball wasn't powerful, but hurt nonetheless. Kael rose to his feet and confronted his attacker. It was a boy about 20 or so years older than himself. This boy was clearly not a mage, if looking at his clothing, but was clearly intent on causing him as much harm as possible, or so Kael'themar atleast thought. When the boy launched another fireball, Kael'themar cast his own. He was unaware at how powerful he truly was and the fireball enveloped the younger boy's fireball and the caster as well. The boy threw himself upon the ground, trying franticly to put the fire out while Kael stood there in shock at what he had done to the boy. The boy was able to put the fire out but was badly burned and clearly in severe pain. He ran towards Kael'themar with his fist clenched and Kael'themar did all he could think of. He hit him back as hard as he could. When he did this, it snapped the boy's neck, killing him instantly. Kael'themar was mortified at what he had done. Avoiding this was the reason he was sent to a magery master in the first place. Killing an innocent person, the feeling was worse then anything he had ever experienced. It tore him inside as if there was a small creature tearing his flesh to escape. He continued on to his parents' house, on the verge on breaking the entire way.

When he arrived to his parents' house, it appeared as if they were crying. He had assumed these were tears of joy at seeing him again, but as he got closer he saw they were not. "Whats wrong?" he asked his mother when he was close enough, "Your brother is gone, they found his body a few villages over. We got the news of it in a letter, the guards say it looks like a mage killed him". Kael'themar slumped to the ground when the realization hit him, he had killed his own brother. His brother was probably just joking with the first fireball, but seeing as Kael'themar attacked back, he must've thought that it wasn't his brother, but just a random person. He attacked Kael'themar, because he got so hurt by the fireball that he lost all reason into the pain and converted it into anger. He felt the pain in him re-surge and hurt several times worse then before, he prayed for the pain to end but it wouldn't. That part pushed him over the edge.

He ran from his parents and from the village, he had no idea where he was going but one thing was for sure: He would never want to feel such pain again. He promised himself not to get too close with anyone, since the pain of losing those dear to you is too much. Even though he finally got over it, he would always remember his actions carry the pain with him wherever he went.

Like many of the High Elves, Kael'themar learned how to absorb Fel. He did so five to six years ago while Kael'thas and his army were teaching this ability in a village. He tried to absorb as little of Fel as possible, but he couldn't keep himself back all the time. Over the time his eyes turned green, just like the other elves, which were now called the Blood Elves.

Soon after the purification of Sunwell, Kael'themar felt that the hunger for magic got smaller, but it wasn't gone entirely. Realizing that absorbing too much Fel may cause some unrepairable damages, he decided to try to keep away from it as much as possible.
