A mage student's robes, typically. Occasionally he'll wear a blue hood if he wants to cover his features. Wearing armour is unusual for him, to say the least, and it rarely fits his posture right.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Usually rather relaxed and easygoing due to being brought up by thieves, though he has low tolerance for idiots and rudeness. Joash likes to consider his options before making a decision, but on occasion will throw that out the window, if only for a change of pace. Protective of his friends, but not quite merciless to his enemies, he will frequently give those who have attacked him a chance to surrender, if only to satisfy his curiosity about why they did so. If that chance is refused, however, he'll finish them without a second thought. As you may gather, though he is something of an optimist, if his expectations are disappointed he wont shy from being practical.

Just don't insult magic. There's no quicker way to make him angry, fuelled in part by his addiction. And speaking of that addiction, it's not a subject he'll reveal to anyone save his closest friends, considering how badly he was hit. His frustration at his inability to conquer it fully comes out as abject hatred of the wretched, second only to his hatred of the scourge. Naturally, if he is deprived of his ability to consume magic, it wont be to long before withdrawal sets in again, with all that entails.

History

Born in Silvermoon, Joash's parents were... less than law abiding. Thieves, rogues, scoundrels, you might call them. Growing up with them, Joash's morality was never going to be what you'd call rock solid. Still, perhaps fortunately for him, he had another path to follow that didn't lead to misappropriating other peoples belongings. For Jo had a talent for magic.

I say fortunate because, quite frankly, Jo was a hopeless thief. It was only due to luck he was not caught more often, and his last attempt at the family trade got him caught by a store clerk while attempting to locate a particularly rare magical scroll, who managed to get him to tell her exactly what he was up to. Luckily Amelia Sunsong was an acquaintance of his, and instead of turning him in she asked to be let in on the job. It was the beginning of a long lasting, and often fortunate, friendship.

His training as a magus was a long process, and indeed he doesn't remember a time when he had any other focus. Magic became the centre of his life. But then the scourge invaded.

A lot of tragedies happened that day, for every Sin'dorei. Joash lost his family, and many friends, and narrowly avoided losing his own life far too many times to count. Though he used whatever magics he had at his disposal, nothing could stop the onslaught of the undead. It was the day that magic failed him, and it was capped off with the loss of the sunwell.

The addiction withdrawal took time to manifest, but when it did Jo was all but reduced to a cripple. Every day was agony, a struggle to keep a hold on his sanity. And fight he did, refusing to give in to crushing despair that had it's claws in him. When the fel magic was offered, he seized it eagerly, only to be disgusted that he was now dependant on something far worse than the sunwell.

Now with a clearer mind, Jo swore to overcome this addiction, and began attempting to cleanse himself of it. So far, he's had very little success in ridding himself of it, but has at least managed to establish better control. He is still dependant on regular consumption of magic, though he comforts himself that he hasn't fallen so far as to become a warlock.

These days, he spends his time either improving his skill wielding magic, or looking for a better way to cope to his addiction (the severity of which he wont admit to). He doesn't really expect any results from his quest, for have the Sin'dorei not looked for a cure since the destruction of the well of eternity? Still, maybe he'll have more luck.
