Personality

Ithillan is a rather calm person and he also tends to remain quiet in certain situations, more likely when he is in a large group and doesn't know all the persons too well. He is very persevering due to the fact that he has been trying to learn how to use the shadow magic since he has been saved from the grasp of the Amani trolls by a Forsaken shadow priest. Before he was saved by that Forsaken, he thought he would never trust the undead, but he saw with his own eyes that they are to be trusted and so he respects them now and would save a Forsaken from death at any time. Now that he is concerned about the plans of the Forsaken, he doesn't care too much for his own kind and actually despises them when he remembers the lack of power the blood elves had when the Scourge invaded their homeland. He wouldn't be considered as a true member of the Horde because he always thinks about his benefits when he does an action, but even so, he would still support the cause of the Forsaken with his life.

History

Ithillan was a normal high-elf that lived in Quel'Thalas with his older brother that was a Farstrider. Life wasn't so complicated for Ithillan because his brother always took care of him and never let Ithillan face any dangers as he protected him all the time. This fact gave Ithillan much satisfaction when he was young, but, when he grew up, it started to make him feel weak because his brother was still treating him like a 'baby'. Ithillan stepped up and explained to his brother that he needed to get used to the real world and to its' dangers. After he saw hiss determinance, his brother felt proud of Ithillan and begun to teach him the arts of melee and ranged combat.

After the first training with his brother, Ithillan was exhausted and wondered how could his brother be such an experienced and strong ranger since the training was so hard. The following day, Ithillan was still feeling tired, but he asked his brother to train him again. Days passed on the same order, with Ithillan feeling tired after every training and with his brother training him carefully. Ithillan's progres was noticeable. He couldn't say whether he advanced or not because his brother never told him anything about his progres and treated him the same way as in his first day of training.

Ithillan's brother was proud of his new 'apprentice' and knew that one day Ithillan would become a strong ranger. That day was near because Ithillan was very focused on the training and determinated to become strong and prove to his older brother that he was not a 'baby' anymore. He wasn't concerned about the days that passed, not even about the fact that the training seemed to be endless, Ithillan just listened to his brother and respected his choices. After a few days, Ithillan's brother was convinced that the training was at its' end and finally told his younger brother that he was finally able to 'get used to the real world and to its' dangers'. They both laughed after because they remembered that those were Ithillan's words before the training.

Now Ithillan was satisfied with himself because he could finally use a bow properly, thanks to his older brother that took care of him because their parents died when Ithillan was a child. Ithillan's brother advised him to join the Farstriders because he became a good hunter and could become even stronger within that organisation. This seemed to be an extraordinary idea for Ithillan, but he always had the passion to visit different places, matter that could only be done with his brother around before Ithillan was trained. Considering that Ithillan could hunt and fight in a close-quarter combat aswell, gave him the permission from his brother to go and live his passion.

Even though he loved to travel and study the environment of each land, the wild animals within them, Ithillan was warned that a great war took place and that he should better stay close to his homeland to be safe. He was intrigued by the 'war' and asked his brother about it, but he said that this war was not theirs'. Ithillan chose to remain in Quel'Thalas with his brother until the war ended, a job that frustrated Ithillan because he couldn't travel, so he was impatient almost all the time as he could not do what he wanted. His brother calmed him and said that the war would end soon, leaving him with the opportunity to travel and feel free by doing what he wanted.

After a few years, Ithillan's brother was called among other highly-trained elves to help the Alliance fight back against the Orcs. He told Ithillan to stay in Quel'Thalas until his return. The feeling of impatience was still lingering deep within Ithillan's heart because he had to remain in his homeland in order to be safe. Yet, he waited for his brother to return and when he came back from war, Ithillan was glad to see him alive and also glad to be able to go and travel. His brother allowed him to go because he knew that the Second War was over and that Ithillan was a good hunter.

After many years, while Ithillan was still away, Quel'Thalas was destroyed by the Scourge invasion that got almost all the elves killed. The macabre atack corrupted the elves' source of magic, The Sunwell and their leader, King Anasterian Sunstrider, was also killed. After the invasion was over, Ithillan returned to Quel'Thalas with no expectation of seeing his own homeland ravaged. He was astonished after looking at all the damage made to the land by the Scourge. His brother somehow managed to survive and left with Kael'thas and with other elves to Outland. Ithillan didn't know if his brother was alive after the invasion and went to the remaining elves in Quel'Thalas to ask them about his brother. All the surviving elves that remained in Quel'Thalas were feeling weak and then started to suffer from magic withdrawal because The Sunwell was destroyed. Ithillan also started to feel the same way, but the fear that his brother might have died was also consuming him. A year passed after the invasion and a squad of elves returned to Quel'Thalas to teach the elves that remained there how to absorb the Fel magic. Ithillan's brother was a member of the squad and rushed to find his younger brother of which he knew nothing at all since he left to Outland. When the brothers found eachother, they forgot about all the pain that was caused to their kind, for a few moments and felt happy to see each other. Soon after, Ithillan's brother told him that he must learn to absorb Fel magic, as it was the only magic source that remained for them. Ithillan trusted his brother and absorbed the magic. That caused him to gain fel green eyes. Even though not all the elves took Fel magic willingly, they were affected indirectly and they turned into what is now known as Blood Elves and swore to avenge their brothers and sisters that were killed by the Scourge.

With the aid of the magisters, Silvermoon was rebuilt largely and the Elves were starting their new lives under the blood oath to take their revenge on the Scourge. Ithillan and his brother remained in their homeland together, but started to quarrel because Ithillan wanted to go again into an 'expedition' and his brother didn't want to let him go because he feared the Scourge might still have been out there. Ithillan got angry at his brother for he was too overprotective and decided to leave at night without telling him. His brother was expecting that and caught Ithillan right when he was trying to leave. He then grabbed Ithillan, looked into his eyes and told him to leave and never come back.

Feeling angry and depressed, Ithillan went into the Ghostlands and wandered through the woods. When he met the Amani trolls, the hunter became the hunted! Even though he saw himself hunted by the trolls, Ithillan didn’t surrender and knew that his only chance was to run for his life. He ran as fast as he could to get away from the trolls but couldn’t help being struck by a poisonous arrow in his left leg. He fell on the ground a few moments later, with his eyes open. He was looking at the sky and was thinking about all the wonderful things he experienced in life and then he suddenly fainted. He was going to face certain death if a Forsaken shadow priest that was travelling from Silvermoon to Undercity wouldn’t have seen him. The Forsaken rushed to help Ithillan and made the trolls run in fear after showing them his dark powers. Seeing that the trolls ran away, the undead took Ithillan to Undercity where he took care of him until he fully recovered because he was loyal to the relationship between the Blood Elves and the Forsaken. After Ithillan got up, he saw the undead next to him and tried to hit him with everything he could grab because he thought that the undead might have been one of the mindless bodies that invaded Quel'Thalas. The undead calmed Ithillan down and said that he was not a member of the Scourge, he was a Forsaken. Ithillan was still suspicious about the undead that saved him and decided to be careful with him as he could have atacked at any time because Ithillan was still sick from the poison arrow that the trolls shot in his leg. The Forsaken took care of Ithillan even though he saw that the elf was not too friendly and always suspected him of being a member of the Scourge. After a couple of days in which the undead still took care of Ithillan, the elf begun to trust the undead as he saw that he was taking care of him all the time and never tried to kill him, this leading to the changing of the elf's impression about the Forsaken, now having a very good impression about them and regarding those undead as true allies.

After he recovered and thanked the priest, Ithillan suddenly felt attracted to the lands of Tirisfal Glades and to the magic that was mainly used there, shadow magic. He got to the conclusion that he must stay there and find a way to get to that magic. Ithillan asked the priest to teach him how to use shadow magic, but the priest said that the Blood Elves could have teached him, too. The elf was willing to remain in Tirisfal Glades and never return to Silvermoon because he feared that he might find his homeland ravaged again and also because he was trying to forget about everything that happened there. He chose to remain in Tirisfal Glades and soon found another shadow priest in The Undercity that agreed to teach him how to use the shadow magic. The priest didn't trust Ithillan in the first place, but he trusted him after Ithillan pledged loyalty to the Dark Lady and this way, Ithillan has sworn to support the Forsaken. The undead that was teaching Ithillan how to use shadow magic soon became very confident that his new elf apprentice would help the Forsaken and this made him teach Ithillan almost all he knew about shadow magic. That undead also told Ithillan that he must always use the shadow magic wisely because it might consume him if he is unskilled and abusive. The elf was grateful to the priest that he taught him and began to practice the use of shadow magic carefully, channeling it to enhance his arrows because this was all he could do since he didn't learn everything about it.

Now that Ithillan learned what shadow magic truly means, he uses it to engulf his arrows with it and cause more pain to his enemies, but he is still trying to learn more about it and become more powerful by using the shadow magic. He chose to abandon his homeland because he saw that his kind was not powerful enough to stop the Scourge and now he dwells in the Undercity, loyal to the Forsaken, which he considers to be much more powerful than his kind.

Skills and Abilities

By studying the arts of shadow that the Forsaken introduced him to, Ithillan can shoot arrows engulfed in shadow magic.

Marksmanship- Ithillan's accuracy has greatly improved and missing his target is something almost impossible if he is in a good shape.

Arrow of Terror- By letting loose of an arrow engulfed in shadow towards a target, along with a wicked cry, Ithillan terrorizes the shot foe and forces him to panic and be unable to fight as he/she trembles and runs in fear.

Shadow strafe- The Ranger fires shadow arrows in rapid succession.

Harrowing pain- The suffering brought by Ithillan's shadow arrows to his enemies is huge and leaves them heavily wounded if they get hit.

Elite Ranger- Due to his excellent bow skills and mentality "A good Archer will keep their distance, kiting an enemy in constant barrage, never letting them get dangerously close", Ithillan can definitely be considered as an elite ranger. He carries this title with honor, but never gets too arrogant about it.
