History

Irhuza grew up as a native Jungle Troll of Stranglethorn Vale. Unfortunately, due to fighting between the local tribes, most of what was his tribe was all but destroyed in his younger years. Around the age of 12, he and the remainder of his family were caught in the middle of a skirmish between angered Jungle Trolls and a group of travelers from the near-by bay. Only surviving due to a slight misstep and consequent rolling down a hill, Irhuza was unaware of the fate that befell his family at the top of the hill. Eventually, he climbed back to the top, only to see the remains of a single Human and 7 Trolls, all of whom were dead. Lost in a whirl-wind of emotion, Irhuza was clueless and much too shocked to think clearly. What would become of him? Would he ask to be brought into another tribe, risking the chance of being eaten? Or would he wait, and hope for a miracle? His answer was not far away. A Goblin merchant, followed by his Ogre companion, was headed to a near by camp of Humans, in hopes of selling off some products he had stolen from Booty Bay. He soon spotted the scene, and rushed to the corpses to search for anything of value. The merchant was in such a hurry, that he didn't even notice the young Troll only a few yards away. Irhuza watched the merchant scramble over the bodies. The greedy Goblin probed the clothing of the Human, then that of Irhuza's family. A sudden rage over took the child, sending him full force at the tiny Goblin. Only inches from his prey, Irhuza was suddenly lifted off the ground by a huge force. Soon after, smack to the side of his head threw him sprawling into a tree. Darkness followed. The next day, he awoke in shackles, on the inside of a ship, completely disoriented. With no sign of his captors, he rose to gather a quick assessment of his surroundings. Just before taking a step forward, he was forced to the ground by his chains and knocked unconscious. It wasn't until the next time he awoke that he learned he was sold into slavery of pirates.

His existence among the pirates was not an easy one, but it had its perks. He quickly caught onto the art of theft, watching his slavers pull items from each others pockets, and on rare occasion, the pockets of the dock masters wherever they moored. It wasn't long until he became a master at stealthy movement either, as he would constantly sneak past the ship's nightly watch to steal bits food from the hold. Irhuza's “master”, better known as Mr. Captain, was an unusual Human. He was border-line insane, and he had this strange attraction for blue-purplish colored things. It was for this reason, and this reason alone, that he had bought Irhuza for such a high amount as 500 gold. Eventually, Irhuza's life wasn't much in the way of servitude as it was a baby sitter for the Mr. Captain. None the less, he learned to live with, and even enjoy, the company of his master. Only after a year did Irhuza finally realize that he had actually been saved when he was bought by Mr. Captain, as someone much worse could have taken him. It was only a short matter of time before he began to pick up on the common language of the Humans, but at the loss of his own, as he slowly began to forget his own tongue.

20 years into his “servitude” for Mr. Captain, a mutiny took place on the ship. A young but influential and manipulative pirate by the name of Little John Joe had convinced the majority of the crew that Mr. Captain had been stolen food from the hold and ate it all with his Troll slave. In reality, Little John Joe was trying to cover for having accidentally knocked about half the ship's food crates off the side of the boat while the ship was moored at a pirate harbor for supplies. The crew, gullible as they were, began to spread rumors amongst themselves, ultimately coming to the conclusion that Little J.J. was correct, and staged a mutiny. They ended up forcing Mr. Captain to walk the plank, having him swim to an island far off the coast of Durotar and left him for dead. Soon, Little John Joe was known as “Captain Sir Little John Joe”, a title he had supposedly always wanted. As captain, Sir Little John Joe was a hard, unforgiving, tyrant of a man. However, the crew liked his ruthless nature and his harsh treatment of the Troll slave that had eaten their food. The next 3 years were followed by some of the worst things that Irhuza had experienced since the tragic death of his family. He would never dare to speak of all that happened, but one might be able to get a story or two, if they were close enough.

3 years after the mutiny, on Irhuza's birthday ((35th)), Captain Sir Little John Joe was sailing the ship to port the in Ratchet. It was the usual process. Lock the Troll up, hide the pirate gear, put on the “Happy Harry's Fishing Tours” Shirts, and get ready to make nice with the dock master. After being locked in the Captain's Quarters (( The only spot the dock master wouldn't search out of respect. )) along with the pirate gear, Irhuza noticed something. The Captain had forgotten to take the key out of the lock to his shackles. He soon turned the key and ripped off the shackles. He looked around for something to break out the stern window with, and discovered large hammer that was used to make repairs on the ship at sea. He quickly got together some equipment, along with Mr. Captain's favorite hat, and made his way to the window. Captain Sir Little John Joe, having just realized his folly, slowed the ship's progress towards the port to make sure he had time to secure Irhuza without raising any suspicion at the dock. As he opened the door to his quarters, he saw Irhuza smash the stern window and jump out. He yelled at the crew to quickly man the stern with the nets, but it was too late, as Irhuza had sunk to the bottom, due to all the equipment he loaded, and couldn't be seen from the surface.

About 2 days later, Irhuza washed up upon the shores of what is known as the Echo Isles just off the eastern coast of Durotar. One of the many Surf Crawlers in the area decided to pinch his foot, effectively jolting Irhuza from his water induced sleep. It was only minutes before it all came back to him. He frantically searched for his gear, and more importantly, Mr. Captain's hat. He looked and looked, but nothing was to be found. He then looked towards the shore, only to take in an odd sight. It would seem the Crawler that had pinched his foot was actually -wearing- Mr. Captain's hat. Irhuza wasn't entirely sure whether to take this as a sign or a coincidence, but as it really didn't matter to him at the time, he snatched the hat from the Crawler's shell and put it on. He then turned around to face what was now his new home, unsure of what the future had in store for him.
