She always wears robes, gowns dresses or other cloth alike with a rare exception every now and then. Mostly seen in blue or purple dyed robes with the exception of the occasional combat situations (when in combat or when she has the time to change she will always wear something red).

Other: She is often seen with her spell book attached to her belt with a special holster for it. Her belt also has a few small pouches attached to it containing mixtures of crushed stone, herb or a combination of both which hold magic (amplifying) properties.

Personality

She is very cold towards individuals, even those of her kin. During her time as an apprentice magi she broken many hearts due to this. However, this was but a mere test of character of the individual approaching her, nonetheless many have failed to see trough this and thus trough that aspect of her character combined with her preference for frost spells earned her the name "lady Ice". In reality she is a caring person regarding her kin, especially to it as a whole rather then individuals. Pride, restraint and morality are the three things she holds very dear and upholds them with vigor. She is well known for sarcasm and the cold attitude; words dripping with cold acid. Her attitude towards their undead allies is neutral; as she does not enjoy being around them she refrains from offending them. Nonetheless she holds much love for Sylvannas as she was and still is one of the heroes she grew up with, and even in death she is still her kin. According to her, even the Felsworn are her kin and she does not enjoy fighting them. As far as the Horde is concerned; she finds them no more then savage beasts. There are exceptions of course, but she rather not search for those rare individuals.

A few things that she enjoys are: - Listening to tales - A (n) (occasional) good bottle of wine - Tea - Books

History

Pre-warcraft III history

Illyth had quite the average youth; a small and cheerful child playing around every day, oblivious to what happened beyond the walls of Silvermoon. In time she grew older and around her 90th year she started show signs of having the gift of magic. Soon after she entered the Sunspire Academy of Magic as an apprentice. She proved to be quite apt in the studies of the Arcane and indulged herself in it.

Like every High Elves at the time, she had to learn all the basic knowledge of magic, and after succeeding in mastering this she (as did many of her fellow apprentices) moved on to advanced fire bound magic. She studied the arts of arcane fire, only to find out that her interest lay with other forms of magic. She experimented with arcane for a few short years as well but decided this was not a school of magic she wished to practice. Instead, she picked up a school of magic that was rarely touched by her kin; ice bound magic. However, it was not as easy as one might think; there where no (willing) mages to teach her the arts of frost, thus, turning to self-study was the only remaining option. This proved to be difficult as well, the books that where open for public use where often nothing more then mere theories or rendered useless due to the passing of time playing it's toll on the pages which became faded, and thus unreadable. Save for a handful of books that described the process of shaping arcane energies into solid ice.

With study material almost being non-existent, she turned towards traveling merchants and foreign material, as she knew frost was a well-practiced school among the human lands. Every now and then she'd batter her eyelashes a few times and show off her...'assets' to one of the male traders which all of the sudden was more then willing to provide her with study material or any sort of information that might prove useful upon their next return from the human lands. She would give them a simple ‘thank you' and pay them for their services. Those that where persistent in a ‘greater' reward--or simply where being pushy--ended up being polymorphed into any random critter or pest depending on Illyth's mood. But even still, these small opportunities proved rare as foreign traders rarely ever visited Silvermoon, and most of the traders of her kin would rather not trade with humans. And even if the opportunity did arise, it would take months for one of them to return. To pass time, she indulged herself in the base construction of spells and magic, which is not unheard off but rather unnecessary as the blood elves natural affinity for magic allows them to skip certain steps, which other races have to learn in order to be able to master the arts of arcane. She studied different subjects within the formatting of magic she gained a basic understanding of spell circles, instead of learning how draw a spell circle from an example and materials set out before you, she gained a basic understanding why those materials where used and what certain symbols and combinations of lines did within the circle, as well as beginning to understand what exactly happens when molding a spell into its shape.

This continued for years and years, and when she turned 127, she became confident in her own abilities and drew a spell circle of her own, trying to create a spell of her own. It needs not be said that she failed miserably, teaching her a lesson in restraint and never to overestimate her own capabilities. The spell was unstable and tore itself apart before her very eyes, exposing Illyth to an immense folly of arcane energies; the strain on her body was immense and her usually blond hair turned white due to the stress the arcane force put on her body. She was tied to the bed for a few months, over thinking what she did wrong, not willing to give up on months of preparation and research in order to create the spell. After the first two weeks of her confinement to the bed, she decided to give it a rest and pick up on the matter again when she became skilled enough to look back on the matter and make it work. She continued her studies as usual and had gotten out of apprentice hood much later as the other apprentices, at the age of 157 she finished up and became an assistant of Lady Skysong, who was a magi that taught arcane at the Sunstrider Academy of Magic. She was one of the few of apprentices that decade that finished her apprentice hood with knowledge concerning the fundamentals of magic. Which was quite a rare treat. Personally, she had no love at all for arcane magic, but she wasn't satisfied yet with her own results and this way she could use the Academy's library for a bit longer as well as free meals and shelter. This lasted for a few years until she turned 167.

History during and after warcraft III

Exactly a decade later, the traitor prince was at their doorstep; ever so slowly but surely he moved in on Silvermoon. Illyth did not notice much of the first and second war. Of course she had read about it as well as heard about it every now and then on the streets of Silvermoon, but to her this war was as the first two ‘a Storm in a glass of water' and expected it to blow over anytime, as did many of her kin. She was soon to be proven wrong. The High elves put up a tremendous fight against Arthas under guidance of ranger general Sylvannas Windrunner, which blocked him in every way she could. She managed to maintain this for a few weeks, but in the end the scourge broke trough. By the time, Illyth noticed their impending defeat nearing, it was already too late, Arthas tore trough Silvermoon using some sort of dark magic, and with the absence of Sylvannas, there was no real leader of the High elf forces. The Scourge poured into the city like water trough a small hole in a dam, and butchered the population Including Illyth' s father, mother and little brother, of which the latter was only few years away from joining the Farstriders.

Illyth was trapped beneath the rubble as Arthas his spell had reduced many buildings to crumble and even more to rubble. She was at the academy when the walls had collapsed and the ceiling came crushing down on them. She managed to shield herself from the falling stone just in time to see a panicking apprentice getting crushed while she was pressed to the floor. Her legs where stuck underneath pieces of the ceiling. She was able to prevent any lethal injuries by putting up a shield, but she could not fully resist the impact of the stone and was thrown to the ground. She remained stuck for almost two weeks, feeding on morning dew mixed with the fluids of the dead giving it a disgusting taste of decay. She would conjure up some solid food every now and then or if need be something to drink, but only if she really needed either of the previously mentioned items since conjuring them up would fatigue her.

After almost two weeks, she was freed from her stone imprisonment with the stench of urine and death and other clinging to her like a desperate maiden clinging to her lover. She changed into new cloth after soaking in scalding hot water for a few hours and was imprisoned again, not in a stone prison but a slightly more comfortable environment. She was not able to leave her bed for yet again a few months until she was fully recovered. Even though she protested against this, she was ordered by one of the surviving Farstrider captains not to leave her chambers. Seeing as everything had suffered considerable damage, save the bed, she had nothing else to do then sleep and grief for her kin and loved ones.

She was taught yet another lesson by the cruel parts fate play, "one must never lose sight of his or her own arrogance" It might not have mattered much but if the High elves had not underestimated this new threat, they could at least have send the youth woman and the elderly and all other non-combat personnel off to a safer area. Yet their arrogance blinded them to take the proper safety precautions.

When she fully regained her strength, their prince Keal'thas had rallied their people to Silvermoon and had left with a person only known in ancient songs, towards the fabled Outland. They received minor aid from the Naga as the rest of the alliance lay in ruins or not capable of offering assistance. Few months later, they left the Alliance after centuries ago. The pact was made with Stromgarde and the Arothian Empire. But that was not even worth mentioning now. The elves where desperate for a new source of power, as the sunwell had been severely tainted with corrupt and foul energies, originating from the remains of Kel'Thuzad. The elves named themselves Blood elves in honor to the fallen ones and their dwindling numbers became lesser by the day. The elven magi reached out for a new source, fel energy while those who could not restrain their hunger for magic descended to the ranks of the wretched.

Illyth was tempted to tap from the corrupted fel energies, however, she had not forgotten the cruel lessons fate and her own wrongdoing had taught her. Instead, she disciplined herself and rationed the mana crystals that where given to her. She saw her kin suffer as she did, however she was not foolish enough to experiment with arcane forces far beyond her own capabilities. Rommath, a mysterious arch mage that came to their aid, raised the city magically restoring great parts of it; surely he would be capable enough to find our kin a new source. She thought as she figured she only needed to last long enough until that time. She gathered bloodthistle, which was known for boosting magic when consumed for a short period of time as well as the stone Fluorite, which is a clear gem which is green, blue, teal, yellow or pink colored. It is renown for boosting power from any other stone, including mana crystals and also helps with reducing anger desperation. She kept one around an arcane forged ring and a handful of those in a crate where she stored her mana crystals as well. The effects of these kinds of items where nowhere near sufficient and where not renown for durability as fluorite has to be mined and loses its function over time and Bloodthistle is an herb that only grows within Eversong woods. Not to mention that both recourses are incredibly limited. Nonetheless it kept Illyth busy and improved the situation if only by the slightest.

Days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months as Illyth saw her people suffer; their prince had betrayed them and attempted to summon Kil'Jeaden to Azeroth, only to be stopped by the combined forces of the regent lord Lor'themar Theron, the grand-magister Rommath and the ranger-general Halduron Brightwing, as the remainder forces of the Silvermoon, with the Horde and the Alliance backing them up in order to stop him from completing his devious plan. The Sunwell was restored by the eredar Velen; the prophet of the naaru as the Blood elves as a whole rejoiced for there was hope once more.

History during server lore

Lor'themar Theron was looked at by his kin as a leader, however, opinions where divided on the matter. Some said Rommath should be the one leading them--not some incompetent ranger-captain which ‘happened' to survive the vile onslaught of the Scourge. Tensions grew among the Blood elves while both Rommath and Lor'themar pleaded for peace not internal striven. Not long after the news spread on the streets, Lor'themar was assassinated by the Horde. Rommath, the archmage was just in time to catch the perpetrator but not in time to save Regent Lor'themar. Rommath personally dealt with the orc assassin before bringing the news to their people. After this the Sin'dorei agreed as one being, the orcs could not be trusted, and they left the Horde.

The Forsaken followed the example of the Blood elves as many amongst the Forsaken where once from High elven nature. Upon hearing this Rommath proposed for the Shin'Sholai's creation, or in other words, the bloodpact which was an alliance between the Forsaken and the Blood elves forming an own separate faction.

Illyth supported the Sin'Sholai as well, as it was in the best interest of her people. However, she failed to see the true danger behind all of this.

The Felsworn, which had been living in Tranquillien after Lor'themar had asked them to rejoin Silvermoon, all of the sudden took the offer Lor'themar had made now that Rommath had risen to power. Rommath's reign was ruthless and above all, he was paranoid. Rommath supporters offered their service to Rommath and formed a military detachment named ‘Rommath's Hand' keeping the citizens of Silvermoon in check and removing any target, which was put on the list of possible threats to Rommath's reign. With a tyrannical reign as thus discontent arose, and conflict was inevitable. A rebellion was formed and fought in front of Silvermoon's gates, successfully breaking open the lockdown of Silvermoon City and freeing all those, which they could save, followed by a swift retreat. It is said that Rommath's cry of wrath and anger was heard far beyond the borders of Eversong woods; at least the rebels say so.

Illyth's part in this is almost non-existent, she traveled to the Undercity as there would be plenty of study material concerning advanced Frost Bound spells, The journey to the ruins of Lordearon itself takes a few weeks to complete due to a detour trough the mountains in order to avoid the undead still lingering within the plaguelands and when she planned to return home after a few weeks of studying and coping with the stench of rot and foul grunts made by the Forsaken she received word from home. Silvermoon was in a lockdown and there has been an uprising. She knew Lor'themar had died and that his death was surrounded by a series of shady events and that many who pried their noses to deep into the matter where soon to be locked away or publicly executed. However she never imagined it would come to this. Soon after she received word refugees and rebels came pouring in turning to their Forsaken allies for shelter and aid. After three days Sylvannas agreed to assist them in their rebellion against Rommath, furious with his betrayal and his foul assassination of Lor'themar she pledged no more then all the assistance she could offer as well as all the soldiers and equipment she could spare.

Illyth joined the rebellion as well, she disapproves Rommath's course of actions. Next to that her love for her kin does not allow her to simply face away when such evil is done. When a tyrant rises to power it is up to the people to overthrow him. Briefly after she joined the rebels not even a fortnight later they began their assault on Fairbreeze village in an attempt to liberate it. The battle was fierce but thanks to the element of surprise the rebels successfully defeated Rommath's present forces back, burning the corpses to ashes.

During the attack on Silvermoon she did as she was told, she followed the host that was ordered to find the leaders and form a spearhead force that would charge at Sunfury spire in an attempt to end Rommath's tyrannic reign. When they encountered the first barrier it was her that suggested a focus fire on on particular point at the sun shaped emblem that seemed to maintain the barrier. The mages did so and the barrier was brought down. As they fought their way towards Rommath obstructed by the Felsworn and Rommath loyalists they encountered another barrier which took a bit longer to tear down but eventually they succeeded, together with the magi: Sarnis evenal and the undead Mage Edgar they formed a spell matrix channeling mana into a curious necklace in Sarnis his possesion. This necklace played a huge part in overthrowing the armed forces present within the room. The two Fel constructs fell quickly after the power of this necklace was released as the warriors and other melee took care of the remainder of the knights present in the room while Halduron Brightwing delivered Rommath his final blow. After this Halduron Brightwing was crowned king of the Sin'Dorei after which the dark lady Sylvannas Windrunner declared that the Sin'Sholai should rejoin the horde as in their current state they could not resist an attack from the alliance. Illyth was not happy to hear such but as it was for the good of their kin, she accepted it.

Maybe...just maybe, it was time for a period of peace for her kin, after almost a decade of war and bloodshed. Or is it just the silence before the storm?
