Head of House: Liethel K. and Selvaiyn Thurandal.

How did the family rise to nobility? House Thurandal earned nobility no long amount of time after Quel'thalas was founded, thus much of their history coincides with the elven kingdom's. A title of nobility was granted to the first of the Thurandals for being the prime motivator of the Terraforming of Quel'thalas, helping bathe the kingdom in eternal springtime. Though no Thurandal will claim that their ancestors did it all, records show that at least, their founder came up with the spell that would calm the blizzards of winter and warm the area as well as keeping its weather stable, if not put it into practice themselves.

Nowadays, millennia later, the old couple of Astrianis and Vanefiria Thurandal have retired from Rulership to live out the remainder of their lives in peace, without the hassle of constantly worrying about the House, and have allowed Liethel and Selvaiyn to rule in their stead, jointly as is tradition.

There must always be two Thurandal rulers. They rule jointly, dividing responsibilities between themselves and the typical line of succession is enatic-cognatic, likely a holdover of older times.

How does the family sustain its wealth? In short, trade, services and teaching:

Current dealings with House Sunsea(plants, flowers mainly), House Serynzheri(minor plants, shrubs, bushes, garden arrangement and landscaping), the Perfume Cartels(plant extracts used in the fabrication of perfume, as well as essential oils and nut oils), the Beverage Cartels(Juices, mainly), The Farstriders(Naturally-grown and planted flora, non-magical medical assistance, Nature magic training), Silvermoon Assassins(Poisons of natural origin, from black lotus leaves to nightmare seeds), other Noble Houses(typically for the creation of gardens, small forests, and even designer plants on a case-by-case basis).

Training nature-magic wielders, arcane terraformers, surgeons, geologists, botanists and other practitioners of the natural sciences.

What sort of assets does the family have? Assets include the Thurandal estate, based on the outskirts of Silvermoon, containing four buildings: The Grand Terrarium - an enormous enclosed orchard where trees are grown; It also includes servants' quarters. The Main Hall - where the usual dealings of the House are settled and the Thurandals make their home. The Greenhouse - where smaller plants are grown in large numbers for flowers, fruit, or transplanting. The Eldest Oak - A gargantuan golden oak, thought to be the first planted on Quel'thalas, with an interior so wide that it is inhabitable, typically used for scholarly pursuits as it also contains a library.

The Thurandals also own a few plots of land in Quel'thalas where the climate is more varied and favorable to plant-life than on the Estate grounds.

The final assets are the Green Guard, an exceptionally well-trained and well-equipped, but very low-numbered group of warriors, rangers and battle-magi who serve to defend the main estate of the Thurandals, and the three Undead kept active by Liethel in secret, under the guise of stuffed animals in various displays around the estate. Liethel uses these latter creatures to defend her family against assassination attempts - in secret.

What is the family known for? Ecologists, Terraformers, Natural Scientists, Doctors. They are known to be very open to trade and service relations, and produce a vast quantity of plant-related products and are great for landscaping or helping with the education of the few surgeons that still operate in a world filled with healing magic. They're known for their close relation to the Farstriders, and VERY strong opposition to Fel-magic.

How old is the family? Since near the dawn of Quel'thalas.

Is the family open for members to join? The main family, comprised of the parents and two Heads? Nope. Extended family might be more lax. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, deciding on a case-by-case basis. It's more or less of a 'don't call us, we'll call you' sort of thing.

However that stands just for relatives. Servants on the other hand are fun and fine!
