Head of House: Edwin Thelwind

How did the family rise to nobility? Douglas Thelwind, who was a respected and well known marksman and battlefield strategist, was granted a minor noble title for his success during the Second War after completing a mission that was considered a suicide mission. The mission involved clearing a mountain side of Orc combatants and to safeguard various supplies for the war-effort. The mountain was more or less just a open graveyard of the Alliance soldiers. It wasn't until Douglas Thelwind and his division of troops were able to push through and reclaim the mountain and it's valueable resources. The title was given as a reward to Douglas for ending a battle that made the Alliance loose too many lives. It was a minor title, however. Almost seen as token reward, something to give good morale. An example "If you can fight as well as Thelwind, maybe you can become a Noble like him." A morale boost for the troops of Gilneas so to speak, not entirely true mind you.

How does the family sustain its wealth? House Thelwind sells ores and metals to those who would buy. They also manufacture arms and armor and sell to the army through a military contract. Lately their arms and armor has been shipped to Tol'barad.

With the addition of the "Harmonic" family, a minor noble house that serves under them, they are also making income from Jonny Harmonic's shops littered around Stormwind. He also has ties with the ores and metals, his family handling the sales of those as well as owning part of the investment.

What sort of assets does the family have? When House Thelwind finally got its bearings in Stormwind they used the last of their wealth to purchase a few mines, two in Northrend, and two in Westfall. They also purchased a small plot of land to house a manor, a small barracks of thirty (NPC) guards. They have also hired a few workers for the manufacturing of goods such as weapons and armors. They also own one ship that does the majority of shiping from Northrend to Stormwind, supply portals deal with the shipping of arms and armor from Stormwind to the front. They are in the process of building three more ships to deal with a larger range of shipping.

House Harmonic, while not being an asset is a really good ally with the family. Though small they work together and have similar goals.

What is the family known for? What makes the Thelwinds known is that they are an up and rising Gilnean family, that was thought to be beset by the tragedy. They are known as being fiercely loyal to Gilneas, while trying their hardest to integrate with Stormwind. There's a rumor among them as well that the "Lord and Lady" Thelwind while seeing suitors, are unmarried, as is the noble Jonny Harmonic. Whispers say among the house that Lady Alaine and Jonny Harmonic have been seen in public---maybe even holding hands and exchanging pleasantries. Oh the scandal! There is also the matter of the common born enchanter, who has also been seen with Alaine.

How old is the family? Only two generations so far. The Harmonics span three Generations. Jonny Harmonic, Grey Harmonic (Deceased, Rumored to be a death-knight however un-founded), and Bainile Harmonic.

Is the family open for members to join? Yes, the family is open for joining. As to joining the family, fairly simple. Edwin Thelwind is always looking to expand his family's operations. He has placed recruitment posters over the heralds' boards in the major cities. The Harmonics are also looking for people, however expect to work not only for Jonny but Lord and Lady Thelwind as well, under the guild [House Thelwind] -If you feel like joining, drop Cerb57 or cartoonkarl a PM.
