Appearance

Hellius will wear whatever leather armor he collects and makes that will provide the most significant benefits to his well being. He is usually quoted stressing the importance not of looking stylish, but the importance of keeping warm, remaining protected, and staying comfortable.

Personality

Hellius is independent, curious, creative, and very private, needing plenty of time alone to think things through or tinker with the subjects and projects that really interests him. He needs lots of space and only has a very small cluster of close, trusted friends. He displeases crowded or pressured social activities that are too hectic or superficial.

Hellius is very inventive and imaginative, enjoying his ability to come up with original solutions to problems that meet and exceed his own high standards. He is able to make quick and insightful connections, although he often disregards others' feelings or opinions.

He speaks his mind freely, if sometimes rather bluntly. He becomes bored quickly and easily, so he remains casual and unpredictable and highly adaptable and spontaneous. Disliking repetition, he tries something new very often, and struggles to explain his ideas simply and/or clearly to other people.

Superbly logical, he is able to see both sides of issues and he enjoys debating, easily analyzing others' emotions. Hellius is able to remain calm in almost any situation. He is partial against a regular amount of small talk, hates unfair treatment, and is hardly capable of making up his mind.

History

In the years preceding the Scourge of Lordaeron, Hellius' father and mother worked as bishops for the Church of the Holy Light within a town in Silverpine Forest. Hellius was raised believing that he and his family were blessed by the holy light and that he had a duty of upholding the values of the Church.

For the majority of his childhood, Hellius believed intently in what his family and the church taught him, but he rarely ever gave it that much thought. He was vocal about his beliefs, especially so when it was around the children in his age group. Not many of Hellius' friends followed the philosophies of the church, which led to them to tease and laugh at Hellius. They called him names, and Hellius' older brother, Jacob (they had a 4 year age difference), went as far to spread rumors amongst the children; saying that he was born from the Fel, which was the reason his family was so religious.

As he grew older, however, it grew evident to Hellius' family that the philosophy of the Holy Light was not going to hold strong within his mind. Time and time again, Hellius displayed his own variation of the “Golden Rule”, treating others the way they apparently wanted to be treated. While he lived with respect towards the children in his age group who liked to tease him verbally, as soon as someone seemed to step over a defined line which Hellius drew somewhere in his mind, there was a drastic reaction.

Hellius' parents attempted to control the boy's actions with force feeding him the philosophies of the holy light in addition to restrictions to what he could and could not do, but he didn't show a reaction to his punishments. It seemed like everything his parents threw at him went in one ear and flew out the other. Slowly his parents grew aware of their son's deep, calculated view of the world.

As conflicts became tenser within his household, Hellius looked for any escape to remain outside of the home. Sanctuaries for Hellius to escape to were scarce, as he would be found within hours. However, there was one spot that his parents and his brother seemed to dare not to look: the alcohol cellar within the town's local tavern. For several weeks, Hellius escaped to the cellar and remained there for hours and hours at a time - tinkering with objects and thinking about the topics that most interested him: how he would have loved to leave Silverpine Forest, how he hated that his family refused to respect his beliefs, and how he wished he knew how to protect himself from any danger he could encounter.

One day, about a month after Hellius started to escape to the cellar, a man was present in the tavern that he had not seen before. The man was rugged and scarred - mysterious in his very nature. Upon seeing the boy in the tavern, the drifter invited Hellius to sit with him, have a drink, talk. Hellius was instantly attracted to the man's aura and took him up on his offer.

The drifter ended up being a man named Korgen, who travelled all through Azeroth, living off the land. Korgen shared many stories with Hellius, who listened with the utmost interest. Over the next few weeks, Hellius would go to the tavern to visit with the man, through which time they grew seemingly close. Hellius' parents attempted to forbid him from visiting the man any further, but Hellius rebelled anyway, fleeing to Korgen with his parents at his tail. The teenager expressed his desire to receive training from Korgen, but he rejected the idea outright; claiming that Hellius was too young at the ripe age of 16. Hellius was finally pulled away from Korgen, at which point his parents started keeping an eye on their son at all times. Hellius was somewhat upset, but succumbed to his parents will; seeing no alternative.

In the middle of the night a few weeks later, Korgen came knocking on Hellius' window, informing him that he was leaving the town that night to tour the world again. Hellius was unresponsive at first, unsure what point Korgen was trying to make, but then the drifter put forth a one-time offer: stay in the town, or go with him.

Taking up his offer, Hellius left Silverpine Forest with Korgen. Over the course of 5 years, Hellius learned how fight with a sword, skin animals for their hide and food, and make anything he'd need to survive in the wilderness. In the mean time, Hellius would help Korgen with tasks the drifter would have around Azeroth; killing supposed threats to peace, wanted criminals, or those who practiced illegal acts. Hellius obeyed, not daring to question the trust he had placed so viably in Korgen.

One day, Korgen came to Hellius noticeably upset, telling the now 21 year old about a group of warlocks who had sacrificially killed his wife and children because Korgen neglected to pay the debts he owed them. Korgen gave Hellius the task of going and eliminating the warlocks, explaining that they lived in a secluded farmhouse in the Hillsbrad Foothills and that he couldn't bear facing those that killed his family.

Hellius went to the Hillsbrad Foothills, gathered information from locals, and then tracked down the farmhouse Korgen described which was to the north. Breaking in during the midst of a stormy night, he slit the throats of the occupants one by one, until, finally, Hellius came upon a startling revelation with the last man that was left - his brother.

It turned out that the farmhouse was actually a sanctuary for members of the Church of the Holy Light, and Hellius had gone through and slaughtered unsuspecting and innocent victims. Jacob awoke to Hellius and demanded an explanation, but Hellius' aura and blood stained hands explained more than Hellius could say. Jacob spat insults at Hellius before starting a fight, during which Hellius entered a primal rage, and utterly massacred Jacob.

After returning to reality, Hellius fled, returning to the area Korgen had promised to meet him after the deed was done. However, Hellius' trainer never arrived. Hellius had killed innocents and brutally massacred his brother, a paladin, who Hellius later found out was tracking Korgen and the bounty on his head for committing crimes against humanity.

Hellius was devastated and now remains changed from the event.
