A man of science, Hastings prefers to assess situations before acting, and often keeps a cool head when confronted with a dangerous opponent. Like many forsaken Hastings can become cruel and malicious when mocked or confronted.

History

Phineas Hastings was a Lordaeron born man, living within the ill fated city of Andorhal during the early years of the undead plague. As unfortunate as his dwelling, Doctor Hastings attended to many early plague victims, before shortly becoming a victim himself. During his illness, running the average span of three days, Phineas tried in vain to find a cure to the plague, often using many of his own blood samples to do so. When he was found dead in his home people believed that his research had instead been aligned with the plague, and in response promptly burned his belongings. His body was born to a separate grave site, due to pleas from patients and local relatives of the kindly doctor.

Years later, Doctor Hastings awoke from a drowsy, dark dream with a wretched headache, and a heavy tombstone thrown atop him to seal his previously mindless body from escaping to threaten villagers. Able to carefully dig out a release for himself, he came to the horrifying [though by now not unexpected] conclusion that he was numbered amongst the undead when the sunlight first fell on his bony claw like fingers, caked with dirt from his frenzied escape.

While at first reacting to his unlife in despair and outrage, it took him a short day in the secluded glen which served as his burial sight to come upon a stunning realization; He did not care. The undead plague was a terrible thing, but unlife itself was something wretched only in the past life he had lived in. His mind moved away from his state, and more towards the possibilities of an eternal unlife; experiments, creations, and discovery surely unmatched by any living man! Phineas rose up, did his best to dust off his degraded lab coat, and marched off towards a new unlife.

At present Phineas is working within many of the horde cities and territories, usually performing experiments of his own while in his solitude.
