Personality

Harthor is willing to cooperate with others and is opposed to the harming or mal-treatment of others where possible, but if he sees a good reason to, will carry through with what he says he will.

Harthor generally agrees with the actions of the elders and leaders, feeling them to be older and wiser than himself.. Thrall is a venerable Shaman and Vol'Jin is an honourable leader from afar, keeping the tribe's home safe. However, Harthor acts by rules set down by the spirits of earth, wind, fire, and water and if these are opposite to those given by the leaders, will carry them out anyway. He believes leaders to be put in place by the Gods, but if they act without the God's blessing, they must not be obeyed.

Harthor isn't opposed to the Alliance, but dislikes most but for the Draenei, for they have been touched by Shamanistic power by the Orcs and Broken of Draenor.

Harthor is wary of death, but is not worried by it, safe in the knowledge that he will be able to return to guide the younger of his Tribe in spirit form and this aid them in the decisions they make, so the tribe becomes stronger as the ages pass.

History

Harthor's ancestors were spirit communers and witch doctors, so during his youth he was given hallucinogens to allow him to commune with the spirits. As a result of this, much of his youth was spent in and out of dazed visions. These however, allowed him to 'sign deals' with Shango, the Loa of lightning, giving him his ability to call upon and manipulate this element. Also, he learned to counter this with the element of earth, bringing upon him an almost equal knowledge of the element of earth and how to use it in different circumstances in a versatile manner.

During his childhood the murloc attacks were a constant worry to Harthor, as his friends and family were snatched up for sacrifices to the Naga Sea Witch. As a result of this, he attempted to learn shamanistic abilities in order to protect himself from such Murloc attacks. Harthor's grandmother was taken when he was 13, a worry to him, as she was a great healer, having healed fellow tribe members from injury due to the Murlocs.

As Harthor grew up he was taught the intricacies of the spiritual world by his father and older male relatives. However, his interests grew in the element of lightning, and so his relatives taught him its ways and intricacies, leaving his knowledge in the other elements quite limited.

Upon Thrall's arrival on the Broken Isles, Harthor was sceptical of the Orc and his warband. This wariness was quickly quelled however, by the immense help that the green folk offered to his tribesmen; and the ability to come to Kalimdor and carve out a living in a new land under the Orcish protection. However the protection, he soon found, was not as absolute as he had once thought and felt the lack of help from Zalazane's attack on his fellow tribe members to be horrifying. As if they were being left to die. He raged about the circumstances for a considerable period of time until he simply wondered, why?

Harthor found his heavy use of Shango's gifts had left him hot-headed and reckless; quick to anger. As a result, Harthor all but abandoned the ways of the Lightning Tiger, focusing more on the soothing and stoic abilities found in the Earth. Quickly Harthor became a guide to younger tribe members, instead of shunning them as he had previously done. Understanding of the Orcs stresses of war leaving them spread thin eased his anger and he began to trust the Orcs again, realising that they were in more trouble than the Darkspears were in their relations with the Alliance. As a result of this, Harthor tries to aid the little green men when they seek aid, as retribution for his mistrust earlier.
