Hanu is humble and observant, taking value in wisdom over brute strength, but never neglecting the latter. His mind is set in stone in the belief that the world has a natural order of balance, and that that balance must be maintained to the best of his abilities. He works well with other people so long as they do not work for the disruption of this same balance. He believes all lives are ultimately equal, from the greatest Chieftain to the lowliest of thieves, they both deserve to live, and will die when their time comes. He believes the only creatures that should not be worthy of living are those that are in clear disruption of the balance, the creatures that work specifically to end any lifeform in their way. He respects all races, even the Forsaken and the Blood Elves, who were left with no other choice, and respects the traditions. What he sees as a tabboo, he does not let it get in the way of his actual purpose.

History

Hanu was born far before contact with the Orcs had been made. His kind were being chased over the expanse of the Barrens by the marauding Centaurs. For generations it has been so, a never-ending war that even the Elders are not sure how or why it started. All that was known, was there was no stopping the Centaurs unless it was by killing them. Even so, the Centaurs were always more numerous than the Tauren, and their whole kind was in risk. Hanu's tribe in particular, has barely pulled through. He was born into the tribe of the Wildmane, in a temporary settlement named Mohani, where there was a momentary peace from the Centaurs. Hanu, since a young age, has had to help the tribe, aiding with the collection of water and the very rare fruit. Eventually, he took the Rite of Passage, along with many others, to ascertain their coming of age. From then on, he partook in the frequent Kodo hunts, and was taught further hunting techniques, learning how to skin, tan leather, sew tents, and how to make traditional Tauren decorations, carvings and paintings.

Peace was not endless however, as the Centaur had found them and set an attack during the late of the night. Cries of pain and roars of rage ran rampant in the city. The Centaur struck quick like a blaze, and appropriately, set fire to the tents.

Panic ran through the city as the Tauren set to the defense, the Braves clashing with their enemy with thunderous booms of their totemic weapons against the ground. The majority of the people however were trying to safeguard the females, the children, and the supplies, with only the strongest standing beside the Chief to defend them. Hanu's father was among them, and despite Hanu's uncontrollable rage to help against the Centaur, he was pulled with the rest of the group as they began to run. The Chief and the Braves were never seen from again.

The Wildmane had begun their nomadic life once again, desperately gathering food and water whenever they could to stock up. Hanu had continued to grow, bitter and angry at the loss of his father, even the rest of his family having a difficult time communicating with him. He had his opportunities to settle his rage however, with the tribe's constant moving about, they encountered some bands of Centaurs, which he gladly aided in crushing. It brought him momentary relief, thinking he was avenging his father, when he only grew more and more bitter. The tribe was reaching a critical point, when they encountered the Bloodhoof. They joined under the banner of the great Chieftain, Cairne Bloodhoof, and later on, aiding the Orcs in their many battles.

It brought some relief to Hanu, that his people were not going to be extinguished, and were even starting to renew their numbers with more children. Hanu however, with his bitterness, had grown a bit distant from the rest of his people, being pitied, the Elders thinking he would only live for revenge. Hanu did not participate in many battles alongside the Orcs, but did get his fair share, surviving through battles thanks to the harsh life his people had gone through.

Time continued to pass, and the Wildmane tribe began to make agreements to mix with other tribes, for the benefit of both. This caused much of the Wildmane to become close to the Runetotem, and later, both tribes started to dabble in the long-forgotten rituals of speaking with the Earthmother. Hanu grew interested, and quickly found himself to grow a deep connection with the Earthmother. He'd begun his way down the path of the Druid.

One day, knowledge came to him of a place where he could be aided in following this path deeper. Moonglade. He was driven by some force, an uncontrollable compulsion to go. It was not a matter of wanting to go, he *needed* to go.

In Moonglade, Hanu spent much of his time in meditation and rituals. His rage and bitterness had all but left him, leaving serenity and understanding. He's assimilated much of the Druidic way of being, the respect for all living creatures, and the will to aid the Earthmother. He spent much time in the Emerald Dream, and this caused in him missing many of the events of the world, such as the re-opening of the Dark Portal. After coming back from the Dream, he returned to his tribe, his family in particular overjoyed that he had grown so much. His mother had passed away, but he felt no sadness. It was the cycle of life, and he understood it. His mother had gone to stand beside the Earthmother.

Hanu's mission is far from over however. He'd gone on to help the Cenarion Circle, and sometimes even the Argent Crusade, regrowing life wherever he went and ensuring that the troops would not die against the Scourge. But even after the news of the fall of the Lich King Arthas, he felt something awry. Something was still wrong with the land, with the world.

With his purpose yet to be fulfilled, Hanu now does what he can, helping regrow areas devastated by Demons and the Scourge, and crushing those that would upset the Balance.

Skills and Abilities

  • Life-Mending: By calling upon Druidic powers and rites, and more often than not utilizing natural reagents, the Druid can heal wounds from small to large, given adequate preparation and time. Superficial and deep wounds can be healed and organs restored to function. He can't rebuild a large portion missing from a body(i.e, an amputated arm), but can attach replacements if presented with one.
  • Natural Renewal: In similar manner to the powers of Life-Mending, the Druid can regrow and replant healthy trees and plants, given time and effort. This does not mean he can make a tree pop out of the ground at any point, but can aid and strengthen said tree to grow quicker and stronger.
  • Shapeshifting: Being more heavily trained in the rituals of restoring life, shapeshifting is more difficult for Hanu in specific, but not impossible. It takes a longer time for him to shapeshift. He can only shapeshift into a Bear, Cat or the Tree of Life form.
  • Bear Form: Tougher, heavier and with a thick hide, claws and jaws powerful to rip flesh and crunch bone, this is the safest

form to fight in. Comes with the added benefit of being very angry very easily. And the drawback of potentially losing himself in this form if he stays in it too long(ergo, days).

  • Cat form: Leaner, smaller, and faster, this form is specific for running, getting somewhere quick or simply hiding, blending

shadows and folliage. He can't take much punishment in this form, but he can avoid it more easily with quick movements and snap right back with sharp claws.

  • Tree of Life form: The form of a Treant, enhances his connection with Nature and the Earthmother to better heal his allies

and restore the land. Can also work to hide himself in forested areas, if he does it properly.

  • Staff Proficiency: Not being defenseless in his regular form, his thick staff can be used for self-defense.
  • Nature's Wrath: Calling upon the land, the Druid can request the environment to work with him to defeat a common foe, usually in the form of thorny roots, wildlife coming to help, or even bringing storms. Only works if there is healthy, un-corrupted land or wildlife nearby. Can use seeds and other reagents as replacement, but they're not as efficient.
