Personality

Very warm welcoming to anyone who'll sit and drink with him, or generally talk and relax. Hamli isn't prejudiced to anyone in particular, running a deep respect for anyone with intelligence and open mindedness. Although jovial and cheerful for anyone who asks to sit for a minute or two, behind the scenes while he is truly relaxing, Hamli is very solemn and reflective of life, the universe and everything. He takes this time to reflect but doesn't let it eat at him for too long. There's nothing he enjoys more than seeing new lands, especially something other than snow. He appreciates sitting under the sun in a tall grassy field or wandering about in a dusky, heavy forest.

History

"Let me tell you something, my sons and daughters. One day I shall leave you, and you must survive on your own. But let me remind you, there is nothing more important than enjoying your life." - Grodin Beerforge

Hamli Beerforge was born in a freezing night in the city, people standing by the forge and shooting the shit to keep warm, the ice slivered air chilling almost the whole city. Ironforge was amassed with people by the falling lava, holding out their hands and sharing drinks. Nearby in the Beerforge home, a child was brought to the world to Grodin and Heidi Beerforge. Their third child, a pride and joy to them. It was soon after the birth of his closest brother, Olav Beerforge. Grodin, a heavyset blacksmith, cared for all of his children and began to raise Hamli the same way, with instilled values of honor and morals. This had a resounding effect on Olav, but lesser so on Hamli. Olav went to follow the Light in his young age, and Hamli took to training by the Guard.

Expecting a military child, Grodin stood by Hamli as he signed for the Mountaineers when he turned 38. By then, Hamli was one of six children, rather than three. Hamli was quickly assigned Internal Mountain Patrol, to walk the mountainside rather than the borders or town. He and his brigade, the "Snow Runnin' 4th," built a shack out in the mountains to stay out of the bitter wind and chill. There they lived, occasionally beating off the wild bear with a spear, playing lots, and lots of cards and talking. Hamli grew close to his chums in the Brigade, sleeping on the floors and standing in the snow. Hamli grew older, wider and all around more skilled with dealing with animals. No Horde soldier in their right mind would try and cross over the mountains where they were stationed, and as such lived the peaceful life. Hamli returned home years later, being the third child of fifteen. He had returned to his many brothers and sisters, years later from living outdoors, many of whom had not seen him before. His mother had passed away giving birth to the fifteenth child, heart failure. His father stood strong in his old age, remarried and lived in peace, his brothers and sisters raising each other across the city.

Hamli soon returned to his post, to find the wooden and stone shack on fire, collapsed. Two orc scouts were walking off, and in a fury of anger, Hamli and the seven returning Snow Runners of the 4th charged them, quickly ending their lives, but a long gash struck on Hamli's left cheek. As they rebuilt their shack in mourning of the Ol' Wooden Stand, the wound turned into a scar, and they were soon back in their lives. They all took more prone to patroling rather than sitting, now even more of Hamli's time spent in the snow.

On his one-hundredth and fifty third birthday, Hamli took it upon himself to retire, and following suit, his father passed. He bore the coffin to carry, moving to the Beerforge Family Crypt in the side of the mountains. His fourteen other brothers and sisters followed, wearing black and trodding in the light snow. He bore the coffin with Olav, the only two carrying it. He was buried, surrounded by his prized possessions and his family. Hamli left a week after, saying farewell with a lightening heart to his kin and his also retired chums in the Snow Runnin' 4th. He walked off by foot, carrying everything he owned on his back, moving out and beginning to travel throughout the world, experiencing all the world he had never seen. His prejudice of orc's faded as he met more, realizing that the scouts were doing what he would have done to their military when he was a mountaineer, their job.

As of this day, Hamli moves here and there, making friends and sparse enemies across the planet.
