Much of his frailty is because him being ill alot when he was young and even though he has grown older he still is very weak and small for his age

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Hal is a very drawn back person. He is shy and often very naive, especially very trusting towards other Humans. His fear for the undead and all other strange new things in the non-Scarlet world is only beaten by his strong faith in the light.

Hal often feel uncomfortable among other races and can't stand to be in the presence of Forsaken. The reason for his small case of racism is of course the Scarlet Crusade. He still has the mentality, but is trying to get rid of it.

History

Hal was born on a small farm outside Lordaeon. His childhood was a happy one even though his family was very poor. He was often lonely since he had no friends that lived close enough for him to play with, so he resorted to playing with the animals on the farm. He was heartbroken when they had to sell their animals to pay for food, but he did not understand why. The harvest had gone foul for many years now, and they where running out of money. In the end, they did not even have enough money for food and Hal was sent away live with his uncle in Lordaeon who served the holy light as a Paladin.

His uncle literally forced him to study the ways of the light, perhaps he did not want Hal to turn out like his 'good for nothing father'. So Hal studied the light, and he partially learnt to control it. And when the scourge came, Hal defended Lordaeon together with his uncle. They where able to escape and Hals uncle rallied some of the survivors, mostly paladins, into a small group that would march around the lands of The Alliance for the following years. Hal kept following his uncle, but as time went on, their numbers decreased, and in the end only Hal and his uncle where left.

One day when they where traveling through the Plaguelands they where ambushed, Hal was barely able to get away with his life. Hal was horrified, he was all alone in a land full of undead, but that was soon to change, only some days after the ambush he saw a party of humans hiding inside an abandoned farm house, and he joined them. For some time, he traveled with these people. But then, when they where moments away from their death, they where rescued, rescued by Scarlet Crusaders.

As a member of the Scarlet Crusade Hal was put in a special squad under the command of High Templar Scibryn. Their mission was to collect the Amulet of the Scarlet Crusade from the Scarlet town of Hearthglen and bring it to Tyr's hand. But when they arrived, they only found death. The protectors of the Amulet had gone mad and killed each other. They managed to find the chest containing the amulet, and continued their towards Tyr's hand. Close to Stratholme, they where ambushed yet again, this time because Hal's foolishness. The cunning Forsaken had placed a poor rabbit as a bait and Hal took it. They managed to escape and eventually made it to Tyr's hand.

But once again, they found nothing. Not even bodies this time. The town was in ruins and there was not a living thing to be seen. Soon they would find a strange ship docked close to the town. To their dismay, the ship was filled with undead, and soon they where ambushed by even more of the mindless ghouls. They killed the remaining undead on the ship and used it to escape. On the ship they found a mysterious map, leading the to Northrend, the very land where the Lich King resided.

They where soon attacked by ships from the Horde and once again had to retreat, this time finding themselves stuck on a island where the Scarlet Onslaught had resided before them. This place, as the others, also seemed abandoned. All of it became to much for Hal. he nearly turned mad from all the misery. If it had not been for a fellow Crusader, Eliza, he would have snapped. She killed the rabbit. The rabbit he nearly died for. Hal went into a sudden rage and then a state of realization. He accepted the fact that they would presumably die, although he was proved wrong.

Both Horde and Alliance came to the island. During the battle, Hal surrendered as he understood that the attackers where not undead at all, and that some of them even used the light. He understood that the Scarlet Crusade was built on a lie.

All of those who surrendered where taken to the Argent Tournament, where they where given the choice of either joining the Argent Crusade or just return to the Alliance. Hal was tired of all the fighting, and went to Dalaran. But as he finds his open with opportunities he become more and more confused. "..What will I do now.."
