Character Full Name: Grumner Flamebeard

Character In-Game Name: Grumner

Nickname(s): Grum, Beard

Association(s): Ironforge, The Alliance, Alcohol

Race: Dwarf

Class: Runemaster (Warrior)

Skills and Abilities

Grumner specializes in none of the Runemaster's trees, but his defense and striking are significantly stronger than his healing. He can cast just a single restorative rune which he rarely uses. Instead he enjoys bolstering his strength and stamina.

-Mark of the Dragon: Grumner releases a breath of alcohol-influenced flame, doing fire damage to all enemies in a cone in front of himself.

Appearance

Age: 143

Sex: Male

Hair: A fading auburn, long, bushy and tied to a ponytail at the back. Has a colossal beard, thick as a jungle. Who knows what you'll find in there?

Eyes: Piercing aqua blue.

Weight: 223

Height: 5'2

Usual Garments/Armor: He leaves his chest bare and wears simply cloth trousers and sandals. He has a simple leather belt to hold basic supplies. He possesses leather straps to use as gloves but finds them arbitrary and often leaves them in his pack.

Other: His chest and arms are covered in magical runes, which glow distinctively. These contrast greatly with his dark skin, and the perfectly drawn scripture shows the deliberation and care taken over writing them, a stark contrast to his usual attitude. He is incredibly muscled and his skin is thick and leathery.

Personality

Grumner is a selfish, arrogant, boisterous, self-centered and cocky. He enjoys to act first, then boast, then drink, boast some more and then think about his actions. He exaggerates his prowess which, while quite impressive, is nothing like the tales he spins while under the influence.

Grumner enjoys his drink, and it merely accentuates his personality. He is quite the womanizer, and his many alcohol induced maneuvers and party tricks seem to help him with this quest.

Grumner, whilst sober enough to think straight, is quite the trickster and prankster. Considering he has the sneaking capabilities of a Tauren on stilts, he tends to make his trap before his quarry walks in to it. Depending on the company this can often get him in to trouble or good will with the victim.

Grumner's arrogance and eagerness to show off often lead him to sticky situations. He calls himself fearless but he actually has a clinical fear of Kodos after being the only animal to best him in a battle of strength.

Grumner has a distinct moral code which he follows. He may not be a fine figure in personality but he is no criminal and is bound by honour and sympathy. He is not cruel or harsh, and would never kill unless his own or the lives of innocents depend on it. He does not believe in an eye for an eye, as he sees it as barbaric. He holds a great hatred, distrust and disrespect for the Horde, especially the Forsaken and Blood Elves. He finds their general demeanour, personality and even appearance irritating and uptight. He has a somewhat hidden respect for the Tauren, due to the stark contrast of the two cultures (and heights!) He does not regard his height as a weak point, quite the opposite.

Alignment: Lawful Good

History

Grumner was born in the great cliff-city of Ironforge to a Warrior father and a rich Merchant mother. He was an only child and spoilt beyond belief. He was always a large Dwarf and enjoyed rubbing his expensive gifts and muscles in to the other children.

Growing up, Grumer was content. His belly was filled with fine ale and fresh boar, and he began to wrestle with other large Dwarves. Grumner was always one of the strongest and quickly became known in his small community in a tucked away street of Ironforge as the strong one. This, of course, went straight to his head. He would often parade around, flexing and covered in oil. He placed no interest in smithing, leatherworking or spellcrafting. He relied on his sharp wit, cunning mind and large muscle.

By the adolescent years, his parents eventually grew sick of Grumner. They sent him far across the city to learn a craft. Meant to occupy him and humble him, they clearly picked the wrong one. Sent to an aged crone who was a master scribe, Grumner quickly excelled in the art, finding a natural gift for the work. He found the craft incredibly intriguing. He took to the title of runemaster rather quickly, learning the patterns and the necessary fighting ability to fight as a mighty unarmed warrior.

Learning about the ley-lines of the world from the small scribe's shop workers, he found himself wanting to travel outside of the great city.

He fancied himself as a nomad, but really he simply visited taverns that weren't Dwarven and flirted with girls that were just as non-Dwarf. He would often find companions with similar frames of mind, though his arrogance has never left him with a long term travelling-friend as he felt they were all beneath him, either in social status or pure strength and charm.

As the time of the Third War came about, Grumner was asked by his aged father to take his mantle as a warrior, which he quickly accepted. He travelled to the area now known as Plaguelands, fighting with the Argents. He bashed many an undead skull in, emerging as victorious. He promptly celebrated by gorging in a whole barrel of ale.

Grumner found a travelling scribe and requested him to follow Grumner and document his "incredible feats and daring stunts", but the man refused on the terms that he did not have the money to afford ink. Grumner still regrets not offering to purchase it himself.

Now Grumner wonders the two worlds in search of fine wenches, finer ale and finest skull to bash.
