Personality

Grok is a fiery young brute of an orc eager to prove himself to others. He acts rashly and often without thinking. In battle he loses himself in the Blood Rage of his ancestors, fighting as much with boot, gauntlet, helmet, and shoulderpads as with his axe. Grok is not easily intimidated and takes on any challenge he is confronted with, as foolish as it may be. He does things in the name of honor and experience in battle. He seeks to better himself for the Horde.

History

Grok was born into the Warsong Clan during year six shortly after the Warsong Clan fled into the wilds of Lordaeron following the defeat of the Old Horde and the shattering of the Dark Portal at the end of the Second War. Grok was born into a harsh time and was a product of such. He was a strong and healthy babe.

During his childhood the clan taught him to hunt and to kill. He took his first kill, a deer, when he was five years old. He skinned and gutted it himself, too. At the age of ten Grok and the Warsong Clan all went through hardships. It was getting to be too much to hunt in this land. Food was scarce and their numbers were dwindling. Fortunately the Warsong Clan was reunited with the Frostwolves and plans were being set to free the rest of their orcish brethren from Durnholde Keep.

Grok was eager for battle like the stories that were told around huddled campfires. He trained every day to be a warrior, he helped hunt, gather lumber, he sparred with older orcs and veterans of the Second War without much success. This lasted for six years while the two orcish clans planned their assault.

On the day of the attack the warriors departed from their campsites in the Hillsbrad Foothills. Grok tried to follow but he was denied the right to battle. He was told to stay with the women and children. It was not yet his time to fight. He had yet to prove himself. Grok was greatly angered by this and followed anyhow, at a distance. Grok would prove himself one way or another he swore to himself.

Grok fought valiantly, slaying many humans and freeing many orcs. He retreated into the woods after the battle and ran ahead to the women and the young that could not participate in the battle. He arrived before the main orcish forces, undiscovered, to his dismay, that he participated in the battle at all. His time would come soon, he swore.

The next year, at the age of eighteen, Grok proved himself. The trial was to retrieve some Orcish prisoners of war that were taken during some small skirmishes over the past year. Grok broke into the prison and slew many humans, the warden was the toughest fight for Grok and Grok ended up gaining the edge when he lopped off the warden's right arm. Grok slew him quickly and took the keys, freeing the prisoners and dubbing himself "Limbsplitter". The same year, Orgrim Doomhamer was slain and Thrall was declared Warchief of the Horde.

When Thrall announced the following year that the Horde would be travelling across the sea to the land of Kalmidor, Grok was a little wary. He was reluctant to leave the land of his youth, but he would follow his warchief to hell and back. Along the way, Grok aided in saving the Darkspears and found them to be very interesting and capable warriors. Grok made friends among the Darkspear and considered them a valuable addition to the Horde.

Upon landing on Kalimdor, Grok was disconcerted. There were no forests to hunt in here, not in this veritable wasteland. Grok stayed with his clan when Thrall and Grom split, following Hellscream into the Ashenvale woods, back to a place where he felt at home. Grok found the elves to be disgusting, possibly more than the pinkskins they resembled. Grok relished battle with them, and began collecting ears to wear as a necklace. A trophy. When Cenarius attacked the Warsongs, desperate to drive them from Ashenvale, Grok indulged in the Pools of Mannoroth to better combat the demi-god. The power that he gained from the Blood was intoxicating and it became deeply ingrained into Grok.

Grok cannot remember much about his time as a fel orc, he blacked out during much of it due to bouts of powerful Blood Rage, but he remembers awakening around the bodies of slain orcs, fel and corrupted alike. Grok returned to the Horde and remained in Durotar to aid in the construction of Orgrimmar.

During the invasion of the Burning Legion Grok participated in much of the fighting alongside the Alliance. He fell many demons at the side of humans and much of his prejudice towards them began to disappear. In fact, much of his prejudices towards the Alliance as a whole began to fade as he realized that there is more out there than just Orcs and Humans. Bigger threats await in this world than their petty squabbles and Grok changed.

Grok returned to Orgrimmar, finding work on the city guard for the next few years. During this time Grok reached his twentieth year. The year of his adulthood. He participated in the rite of Om'riggor. He left Orgrimmar with nothing but a few leathers and a great axe. He was tasked with hunting down a notorious raptor that had raided a few pig farms around Orgrimmar, the raptor had even taken a young orcish girl. Grok found the beast by using himself as bait. He waited for a few days and was ready when the raptor struck. Grok was unable to use his axe in the melee and wrestled around with it, earning many gashes and scars all across his chest and torso. After a few minutes, Grok was able to pin it and strangle the raptor to death. He painted his face in the blood of the creature, returning home the shamans of the Warsong. The elder shaman tasted the blood. The Om'riggor ceremony was conducted and Grok was declared a full member of the Warsong Clan.

A year later during Arthas' announced return, Grok joined back up with his clan once more, this time under the command of Garrosh Hellscream. Grok fought valiantly in Northrend and returned home to mounting tensions between the Horde and the Night Elves. Grok is currently stationed at Splintertree Post, awaiting action.
