History

Phil was raised in a peasant family, with no brothers or sisters, which was extraordinary, since at that time families, especially peasant families, were to get a lot of children, because of the lack of workers. But since Phil had none, and hes mother and father were working in the Fields for utmost all the time, rest of the time sleeping, Phil grew up playing by himself, and also helping in the fieldworking and cooking, and such normal household chores. Phil never really learned how to interact with other humans, since he spent all the time in the farm. But he did hear stories about great magicians, who lived in big cities, and got the urge to become a great trickster himself.

He was 26 years old when his father died of a sickness they never knew, and about her mother, Phil found her hanged body in the basement one day.

And so, Phil was sunken into the darkness of his mind, only working for many hours a day to survive, and as he decided that he would never even try to fill his own wishes, Because he had no one to prove himself to anymore, he started calling himself by the name:"Grinbak". That name just came up in his mind the first, and it might've been related to the recent sadness, which he couldn't confess to anyone. He was too shy. It didn't take long until he stopped speaking to anyone, or anything.

During this season, he kind off became more evil, as his moral and sense of ethics was practically ruined during that faithful day. Everything he believed in had horrifyingly been tore to pieces. But he did still try to separate from the farm he lived in, but everytime he did, he got rejected by mankind.

But one thing that never get's rejected, is money. So he took a bit of the savings of the poor family, and went to the bookstore. He bought a few books, and a teacher to teach him. And so he learned to read, although the teacher spoke only a little, and left as soon as he was ready to read on hes own, he now knew how to read. And he thought that was hes point to save himself of this misery of being rejected all the time.

But he'd been marked. No matter how hard he tried, the people of Lordaeron had already rumored things about him. Things that weren't too good. So he never got in to the society, not even close. After that he went back to the farm.

And five years passed, as he only survived alone with hard work.

At the time he was 32, he read a book called "The World of Pets". From that single book, he had gained an idea. He could get a pet to pet. Aside from the fact that the book didn't really talk about taming, he was doing well. He had finally got a goal in life. Now he'd only have to think about what kind of a pet he would get.

After a thinking session of weeks, he had decided. He was going to tame a cow, since they seemed calm and wise. And the fact that he lived in a farm, and he had alot of animals, made it easier to just pick one and keep it in a more special position.

So he picked one of hes cows, and named it:"Matsy". For a long time, he was a bit happier than usual, cleaning the cows urine from the floor.

But off course, cows don't live forever. After 3 years, the well fed cow died. And again, Grinbak was sad. He wouldn't take a new pet, but he did still try to feed hes dead, non-moving pet. It didn't work too well, but he tried.

At the age of 35, he ran out of the funds hes parents had saved. And as the winter was about to arrive, he needed money. He had to go to Stormwind, but moneyless, he only got spit on. He decided, that society had spit on him, he'd spit on it. He sold the last of hes farm animals, now having none, to buy a scimitar. He had no idea how to use it, but he'd seen guards something like that, whilst playfully dueling on the streets.

Well he had a scimitar. He thought he'd use it to steal money, so he went to the forests near Lordaeron in autumn, and hid behind a tree, waiting for someone to pass by. Someone did pass by, and that someone happened to be a sturdy dwarf fighter.

So, Grinbak came behind the tree, holding hes scimitar in one, shaky hand, pointing it at the Dwarf. "Give me money!" he said. The dwarf looked at Grinbak, and laughed:"What? Give you money?" Grinbak was surprised by hes amused reaction, but he kept hes steady face, and repeated:"Give me your money!".

The dwarf took a horrific battlehammer off hes back, and turned to Grinbak: "You want to do this the hard way, or the easy way?" "The har-" Grinbak got to say, before he noticed the dwarf charging at him. He didn't get any time to react, and the dwarf hit him in the chest.

After that, Grinbak woke up in a jail. He had been convicted for 7 years, for assaulting a highborne. Atleast he was out of the cold winter.

As he was released from jail after seven years, he was given hes scimitar back, and told to go home. Well, he didn't give up that easily. He knew that he'd never survive at the farm, without animals. So he went looking for a job in the Lordaeron city.

And after a few months of begging and living on the streets, he found one. He started cleaning a shop of a gnome engineer in the same city. The gnome, called Erbag, also let him sleep on the floor of the shop. At the same time guarding the shop. He barely got any pay, since the shop wasn't that popular, but he got to live there.

After two years, when he was 44, he decided that this didn't fit him. He'd want to be a conjurer of arcane powers. A powerful mage. And here he was, cleaning a shop of a gnome. So, at night, he took all of the money from the gnomes hidden stash he knew about because of hes two years of cleaning, and left the city. This time he didn't get caught, but he realized that the guards would be looking for him, so he thought he'd try and return to the farm, to stay alive for a few months, to escape the strongest heat. Afterall, he didn't steal much money.

And so he did, and he turned 45. Again, standing on the brick of winter, he had forgotten about hes dream of becoming a mage, and went back to Elwynn forest, to buy farm animals to herd back to the farm. Since he had now done that many times, he knew the route there well.

And he succeeded, again because money doesn't get rejected. On the way home, he again remembered hes dream. But he'd already run out of money, so he decided to wait another year. And so he did, again and again.

And then one day, when he was 49, he thought he'd had enough, again, and decided to get money. But he certainly didn't know how. He knew now, that selling the animals was not a good idea, so he had to think of something else. But he was out of ideas. He simply had nothing. So he abandoned the idea, and begun living on the farm again. And a few years passed, until he had an idea. He could sell the books he had for money. Then he might have enough for training, and as a mighty wizard, he could off course gain alot of money.

Even though he didn't know that you couldn't just become a wizard, he waited for Spring, so he could once again travel to Elwynn to sell the books. So he took a big, dusty bag from the basement of the Farm, and forgot about hes animals, leaving to Elwynn. He searched for a year, but as he had a gigantic amount of books, no one was interested in buying them all, but a single book at a time. Grinbak wasnt exactly the best bargainer in the country, so he sold them in a fairly cheap price. He couldn't sell even a half of them before the winter was there again, but as he thought he could do the same thing next year, he started the journey back to hes farm.

And as he got there, he remembered something. The animals. They were all dead or gone. So he had to travel back, again, seeing that he had nowhere to go, and he saw fit to go to an Inn, since that seemed a fit idea. But he couldn't stay there for long, since it cost a load of money, which he didn't have, he went looking for somebody with a house, who could rent it to him. And he did find one. Mr. Kriggles, A landlord in hillsbrad. A book collecting one, so they made a deal, that if Grinbak would give him all of his books, he could let him stay there for 15 years. That was a long time.

For that time Grinbak survived with begging, and the house he'd just gotten.

But after that time, he had nowhere to go, and he decided that he'd lived long enough. He'd atleast die honorably. As he was evicted from the farm, he traveled back to the old farm nearby. Practically to die.

And then, one day, when he had just turned 66, The Scourge swept through the area, easily slaying the lonely farmer, who had nothing more than a badly made scimitar to defend himself. So he turned a member of the scourge, advancing with the scourge army as usual, but as he survived until the breaking of the curse of the Lichking, he woke up as a part of the Forsaken, and realized that he had never done anything great in hes life, having never followed hes dreams or wishes.

He realized that he had gotten another chance.

He went searching for training for the arcane arts, and so he found himself a practitioner of Arcane arts, who promised to teach him the secrets, if he would pay the skilled mage. So Phil started searching for a job, and he gathered up enough money for the mage to teach him the basics, the rest he learned from books and scrolls that he read, and by practising for hours a day.

But one day, as he was buying some books he needed from Undercity, a Blood Elf called Lindrin, A little crazy one maybe, came and asked him: "Why do you read books about communicating? Don't you get to meet enough people?" And Grin responded, shyly and wondering what the Blood Elf was thinking "What?" The two just stared at eachother for a while, Lindrin smiling widely and annoyingly. Then she said: "Why do you look so sad? You just got new books! Doesn't everybody like new books?". And Grin just turned back, and started walking away, 'cause the elf didn't seem that interesting, he couldnt really use her to anything by the time. But he couldnt get rid of her that easily, she started following him, and asking questions like: "Where are you going? Might I come too?" Having her own reasons to ask those questions, which Grin didn't know, so he answered, after a little pause, "Well sure, why not." Mostly because Grinbak didn't have anything specific to do. Ever. And the elf didn't seem too cunning. She only smiled and started following him. And that was the very start of a strange friendship.
