Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good Gabriel is a simple, humble man. While being a farmer doesn't exactly give him much room to do mighty deeds worthy of recognition, if he does manage to be in the spotlight he takes it pretty seriously. He cares deeply about the well-being of others, as his 'homely manners' have reflected to him from his mother and father, and so will take in just about anyone under his house – though for a limited time, as he can't afford to fully support another unless they work for their food. He doesn't bother with politics or huge faction conflicts much, as he's not much of a fighter. He sees the necessity in fighting, and will fight if he has to, but he'd prefer not to have to fight. He's patient with others, but also stubborn. If he's set on doing something, he will do it, and nobody will be able to tell him otherwise easily. If he ever does get riled up, then people would see the full mental might of one of Stormwind's farmers – which isn't much, but a pissed off farmer with a broom can do a lot to some people.

Were he to ever encounter any orcs or Horde people, he would go off of what his father taught him – the Horde is evil, out to kill the good people of the Alliance.

History

Born about a year after the First War to a refugee from Stormwind, Mather, and his wife, Gabriel's very early childhood consisted simply of living in Tirisfal with the other Stormwind refugees. He was raised initially by his mother as his father, though a farmer he was, took up sword and shield for Stormwind's small cause in the Second War. When Stormwind was reclaimed, Mather was granted a plot of potential farmland in honor of his service and some heroic deed involving the saving of a knight of Stormwind during battle. Mather put his sword aside and sold his armor and shield, using the money to purchase the very cheap building materials for a home. Gabriel, barely five at the time, helped with what he could as the only child of the married couple.

It took a decent amount of time, but eventually their household was complete, and just in time for planting season. Using the remainder of his soldier pay, Mather purchased seeds for his farmland and took Gabriel out to plow and sow the fields. It was rough the first year or two, as harvest season came through, but eventually the farm made itself permanent. Gabriel was eight years old when the farm finally started to prosper, gaining the name 'Mather's Veggie Patch'.

For the next fifteen years, Gabriel was raised on the hardy but back-breaking work of an Elwynn farmer. Not much caring to leave home, Gabriel stayed at the Veggie Patch with his father and mother as a farmhand, also occasionally walking over and helping their neighbors with menial tasks like rounding up lost cattle or shearing sheep for wool. His mother took to a bad flu after the next harvest season, and passed away because of it. Gabriel and his father thought they were both lucky not to catch it as well, but his father slowly started showing signs of the same flu.

When his father passed away from the same flu, Gabriel knew he wouldn't be able to run the Veggie Patch all by himself – so, after burying his parents and giving them a personal service, he went to the nearby town looking for a young girl to marry. What he found was the woman of his dreams. A fine lady named Allison who was a city girl herself out for a little adventure. Gabriel invited her, politely, to dinner and their relationship quickly soared from there. When Gabriel proposed to her, she accepted on one condition – Allison's mother, Gertrude, was recently widowed because her father had died fighting Blackrock orcs in Redridge and needed a place to live. Gabriel accepted this, and they were wed.

Barely a year later, Gabriel and Allison were blessed with a son, Kyle. Working on the veggie patch often, Gabriel didn't see much of Stormwind himself, except when time gave him the opportunity to go to market to actually sell his harvest for both spring and autumn. Three years this continued on, and the married couple were blessed with a second child, a daughter, who they named Jessica. Jessica came to the two at just about the same time as the Shattering occurred. The shaking of the world didn't affect the small family much, as Elwynn was safe from the troubles, but it did frenzy up the creatures around Gabriel's farm – notably the gnolls, kobolds, and murlocs.

Gabriel was often able to keep these creatures away from his farm with the wave of a big torch and a pitchfork, as well as his neighbor, Marr, and his ornate rifle. However, lately, they had gotten bolder, and directly stole from Gabriel's house. While he didn't care much for most of the items stolen – dishes, mugs, and a few chairs – one thing above all got to him. The sword that his father had used in the Second War, ever a family heirloom, had been taken by a small band of the gnolls. However, he managed to luck out as two passing paladins, Cristovao di Silvio and Royal Hastings, helped him retrieve the sword from the gnolls' camp in the hills. Grateful for the assistance, he gave them both a night's rest and a good meal in the morning. Since then, the creatures have remained a minor nuisance, but haven't ever dealt much damage to him or his crops other than the occasional stolen broccoli flower. Life has been simple, as always, for this farmer and his family.
