GM Island, also referred to frequently as GMI within the World of CotH, is the designated OOC area. This is the haven for those who are resting from RP, looking for RP, for those who just logged into the game (Providing you logged out at GMI), and for those who simply want to fool around. All server rules naturally apply, but as a OOC zone you do not have to talk in character on GMI.
How to reach GMI
GMI is reachable from every main city, through the portals specially placed at each main city their banks. For horde, it would be Orgrmmar, Undercity, Thunderbluff and Silvermoon. And for the alliance, their main cities consisting of Darnassus, Ironforge, Stormwind and The Exodar.
Upon your first visit
Upon taking the portal at any of the main cities of your race, you will find yourself at the wooden docks of GMI. The path leading up west inward to the island, directs you to the building including many vendors which I shall explain and locate for you in a moment! Directly to your left, is a purple glowing and turning vortex, which is known as the OOC portal. It can send you off instantly to the many places of CotH. A little bit further on the hill, is a portal able to send you towards the gigantic tradeskill ship hovering above.
To the right of the docks, are another five portals going towards Booty Bay, Ratchet, Gadgetzan, Everlook, Argent Tournament (At icecrown), and Azshara's Crater, the never implanted battleground of WoW. On CotH, this is used as another IC zone.
Proposing you take the road west and head towards the building, you'll find yourself greeted by a Earthshaker grunt (Lok'tar!) near the mailbox, and a masked gnome called Katrina.
