Personality

Passionate, violent, and boistrous all describe Ferdinand with excellent simplicity. He is simply put a brute of a man, one who quickly and unquestioningly resorts to physical force to resolve problems. He is not well educated, being only barely able to read or write, much less perform higher math or sciences. What he lacks in schooling he makes up for with passion and resolve. Despite his bully-like attitude, Ferdinand is not a bully himself. He finds himself a defender of the abused and mistreated, refusing to let injustice stand unopposed--especially towards the lower Gilnean class citizenry often manipulated and taken advantage of. To that end, he is ready and willing to raise hell and crack skulls to ensure it happens.

History

Born the son of a Tirasian sailor who settled in Gilneas and a Gilnean woman, Ferdinand came into this world just before the Second War erupted across the world. As such he was but a small child when the Greymane wall went up, and never truly knew of life outside his nation. However, the lower class boy grew up always wanting to see what lay beyond the walls, his father telling him stories of the Alliance kingdoms and their peoples.

Growing up poor, his father losing his mercantile livelihood due to the embargo Gilneas set on the world, Ferdinand lived on the very bottom of society's ladder. He had little beyond the clothes on his back and meager food to eat, but he refused to be put down. Survival of the fittest is the rule of the slums, and Ferdinand saw himself king of the jungle. Thusly, he became a bully in his youth, getting everything he wanted through physical force.

Ferdinand's thuggish lifestyle would prove beneficial in the long run. When the Third War broke out and Lord Crowley secretly sent soldiers to assist Jaina Proudmoore's colonization of Kalimdor, Ferdinand's father was among them, leaving the boy alone in the world. Already coming into teenage and rethinking his place in life, Ferdinand had began to redirect his violent attitude from his fellow impoverished citizens to the wealthier upper class nobles whose polices cut Gilneas off from the world and put men like his father out of work.

Things came to a boil when the Northgate Rebellion occured. Ferdinand was more than eager to participate in an attempt to break down the Greymane wall and overthrow the government's isolationist rule, but much to his dismay the leaders were quickly subdued and the movement quashed by the Gilnean military. Ferdinand, like many others, were arrested and thrown into prison, and there he remained until the worgen curse began to plague the country. Like all other prisoners, Ferdinand was given an ultimatum: sit and rot in a cell, or help fight the worgen for pardons. Little did he know, this was a literal throwing to the wolves, and like so many others, Ferdinand became cursed as a worgen himself trying to fight the beasts.

Things are different now, though. The Gilnean worgen have been gifted with control of their forms, Ferdinand among them. With the nation being invaded by the Forsaken, the brute of a man has joined forces with many other Gilneans to wage guerilla warfare on the undead invaders. For a long while, many skirmishes were had, culminating the taking of a Forsaken warship by force. When his brothers in arms were approached by the military to surrender the ship to the authorities they refused, and with nothing left to lose they set their crippled stolen vessel out to sea to strike it as their own. Where would Ferdinand's fate take him in this strange new war-torn world? Only the winds would know.

Skills and Abilities

Thuggish Strength: Ferdinand is a towering muscled hulk of a man, and even moreso in his beastial worgen form. What he lacks in any true martial art finesse he makes up for in brute strength, exceptional stamina, and a resilient hide.

Underhanded: Ferdinand fights to win, and his fighting style reflects that. In tandem with his raw strength, Ferdinand is not afraid to pull any punches to defeat an opponent. Everything in the area is a weapon for him, and nothing is off limits: tables, chairs, the windows and more.

Sabotuer: Ferdinand is not standard military, but a guerilla fighter who strikes unexpectedly to leave a crippling blow to his enemies. To accomplish this, he is well versed in the use of explosives, grenades, and boobytraps to cause as much damage as possible without directly fighting.

Sharpshooter: While not the best shot in the world, and definitely not the most gun-savvy, Ferdinand is an accomplished rifleman who can adequetly make use of a smooth-bore or rifled musket when the need arised.
