Personality

Elais is a very strong willed individual. When she believes she is right, she will go along with her ideas above all others, resisting any assistance that isn't completely necessary to whatever she intends to do, though she may not say it, as she rarely speaks unless directly spoken to, or her opinion is otherwise needed. At the same time, she tends to think for the well-being of all around her, despite her own claims to the contrary. She views life itself in the highest regard, be it the life of an opponent, a small sapling tree, or her own, and will do anything she can to avoid killing unless absolutely necessary. Elais is also very independent, choosing to do things on her own when she can, and not being very fond of being in a larger group, seeing too many opinions interrupting the group's ability to flow together, and to act as a whole.

History

Elais grew up in the midst of the original attack of the Legion on Azeroth, and so her earliest memories are of such. Her upbringing was one of a child who should be ready for their parents to die at any moment, and she was raised to be self-reliant, neither parent coddling her or sheltering her any more than need be. After reaching her own adulthood, she began to put a more focused view on her life, joining in with a small patrol group and settling herself into some form of routine. She would go with the group whenever possible, serving as a scout and, for the most part, enjoying herself immensely, and Elais, in all this time, had several very brief and stormy romantic stints with a druid by the name of Noloso.

Their relationship was almost perfect, a mutual attraction that may have ended quite well. This, of course, was not to be the case. Elais and Noloso's relationship was hindered by a single argument which neither would agree with the other on. The matter of the best thing that could be done for the life of the world. Noloso believed that he was doing the most, in that the Emerald Dream was more effective on the land than Elais, who believed that an active role in keeping the balance of things was more effective. In the end, almost every time Noloso went back to sleep, it was at the end of another heated debate, and the relationship finally ended completely around the time that Elais turned five-thousand.

After this, Elais placed herself more fully into her duties to the patrol than anything else, and became much more reserved, promising herself to never engage with anyone romantically again. She tied herself solely to her duties, and solely to the protection of the forests.

Elais was on patrol with a group of her sisters at the time that the Scourge appeared in Kalimdor, and fought with more fierceness than she ever had in her life during those first battles before Hyjal. However, when one of her sisters died, Elais took it as a personal blow.

During that battle at the World Tree, Elais was separated from the rest of her group, somehow ending up alongside a group of Orcs, aiding them with her bow and growing to have some measure of respect for their people, and their honor.

After the end of the Third War, she was broken, or at least shattered somewhat, and took to flittering around Kalimdor, and eventually the Eastern Kingdoms for the next decade or so, and somehow getting herself involved in the Arathi conflict. She ended up dying in a minor scuffle involving a dwarf, a forsaken, and a human woman, managing to save the life of the human, however. Her death was very, very brutal, and still haunts her thoughts. Her stomach, among other things, was slashed open, and seeing her own organs splintered her thoughts even more, causing her to develop an eating disorder.

When she returned to life, Elais had a new goal, to avenge her own death, and to kill the one who had killed her, though it was a moot point, as he had already died.

And so, with no purpose, she began wandering anew, without any real cause or purpose beyond the protection of the lives of others.
