Personality: Philosophical, cynical, mischievous. Having been an agent of order in life, stuffed in the ground for several years, and reborn Forsaken, Dust considers himself to have enough perspective to make an informed opinion on most subjects. He sees Azeroth as a mostly crude and selfish place, and has his own ideas on how to fix it. He assumes most people are in it for themselves, and delusional or lying if they say otherwise.

However, given all this, Dust is not dark and brooding. Rather, he sees his Forsaken rebirth as a second chance, as limited and disgusting as it is. He believes in living his new life to his fullest, experiencing what he can, learning from other cultures, and getting the most out of his Forsaken body. In fact, he has turned his skills as a healer in life and plague chemist in undeath toward 'curing' the Forsaken condition. He concocts potions to aid in bringing feeling and function to the Forsaken bodies. While this gives him a fuller life, it also comes with a price, and Dust is a bit of an addict.

Dust is interested in talking to all races and professions, an is quick with a joke, although often a biting one. He speaks his mind and can be blunt, but is willing to listen to all opinions and try anything once. When not performing a useful assassination, he is always interested in meeting with other intellectuals.

History: In life, Sir Richter was a knight and paladin in service to Lordaeron when Arthas led his campaign against the plague-stricken. What many don't realize was that Lordaeron's army in this campaign was large, and many generals far away from Arthas had no clue as to what was really happening, with orders passed on from afar. He watched it turn from an investigation of the cultists to a misguided slaughter on innocents. Orders were further confused down the chain of command when a maddened Arthas brought his campaign against the elves. Many soldiers, Richter included, fought pointlessly against the elves before realizing the truth of the situation. Eventually he learned the right of it, and died alongside the elves fighting against the Scourge.

Reborn into the Forsaken, Richter threw out his old life and committed to his rebirth. He took a new name, Dust, from an old passage in the Book of Light, reminding us that from dust we came, and to dust we will return. He put his martial training to use as a hitman rather than a front-line fighter, having seen enough of that. He also turned his healing skills to alchemy, having renounced the Light. His training with the apothecaries led him to realize the potency of these concoctions to help Forsaken, restoring feeling and function to their worn bodies. He has since quit formal associations with them and works independently towards potions that will help Forsaken live a fuller second life.

Dust also takes on various wetwork and 'reallocation' jobs for Sylvanas and other factions that run the Undercity, but is picky about his jobs. He wants a strong and unified Forsaken order, and is ready to take down their enemies, but is wary about blind obedience to anyone, even the Dark Lady. He takes contract kill missions from Ravenholdt and the DeathStalkers, but is not a formal member of either order.

When not working as a chemist or hired knife, Dust writes, speaks, and tries to create a society of thinkers from the undead, to come up with and implement the revolutionary ideas that will change Azeroth for the better.
