History
Duskhoof parents where “Kawota†her dad who was a tauren warrior trying to keep the Skychaser camp site protected and her mother “Laurakhe†who was a trained shaman of the Skychaser tribe. Kawota, died before Duskhoof was born by being ambushed by a group of Kul Taris soldiers and marines.
Duskhoof was born at a hidden campsite near Feralas, at the age of 12 she decided to move away from the campsite and her mother Laurakhe, to focus on the training of a shaman, under the order of “Pale Claw†an expert in the elemental aspect of the shaman ways
Duskhoof struggled with the training but managed to survive the initial trainings of being an apprentice and managed to reach the rites of the elements of “fire, water earth and air.†These where designed to prove as much as a challenge as possible to the tauren taking the path, so to weed out all but the best of Pale Claws students. Unfortunately Duskhoof wasn't one of the very best, and struggled greatly at all of them. Duskhoof managed to survive despite her weakness in the shamanistic art, by finding sly ways of solving the first three.
At 49 she should have been all clear to pass the final rite, the rite of earth however, she could never pass this one; due to simply not having enough strength will or stamina to survive the long journey from the barrens to Silithius, with no food and water rations, no weapons or armour and no form of transport. It was on the third year of attempting the walk of the rite of earth that Duskhoof was attacked by a Silithid wasp which knocked her out and transported her to an underground maze of tunnels directly under Tanaris where she was supposed to be paralyzed until eaten by larvae. Through some fluke of luck, the venom wasn't as effective as it should have been and Duskhoof managed to escape before the larvae attempted to eat her.
Duskhoof quickly was lost in the tunnel and couldn't find a way out, so she did the next best thing and followed the longest tunnel, dodging Silithid as she went through its many hidden side passages and short cuts and more often than not dead ends. After a few days of travelling down the huge tunnel she reached the piercing sunlight of Silithius, she gathered the precious rocks which where needed for her rites, and headed above ground looking for a way back to Pale claws tent, above ground this time not daring to go back to where the Silithid lurked.
On the way back Duskhoof noticed that she was in the familiar site of Feralas she managed to find her way back to the original campsite, when she reached the site, it was an unrecognisable mound of ash, and ruined structures, the camp, “her camp†had been destroyed and the quickly constructed grave markers symbolised the same fate happened to the inhabitants of this camp.
Duskhoof rushed to the grave site and started scanning for names , she sighed as she found a familiar name her mother Laurakhe had been buried here, she headed away from the camp and back towards Pale Claws tent in the barrens, where she planned to get her elemental totems and leave the training for good…
