Personality

Alignment: Lawful Evil

More than anything else Duraza is proud. He has a deep connection to his people and Silvermoon itself, a patriot if any. Despite his dislike of many of the races in the Horde, Duraza refuses to show them disrespect. Slandering his allies is shaming his leaders and his 'country.' He would often times rather die than do anything that would hurt the reputation he has built in his mind for the Sin'dorei.

Years of using fel to sate his addiction and wielding fel energy to defeat foes has worn on Duraza's once very logical mind. Often times the desire for fel makes him willing to do things he finds corrupt. The lust for power makes him cruel at times when trying to achieve a goal. And with each success only comes a greater sense of dissatisfaction.

Despite the lingering addiction he remains to be a very social person when among other blood elves. He enjoys company and thinks that remaining active in social pursuits helps to build a sense of community in Silvermoon. He also often feels that he can serve as a guide to those younger than himself. Not only does he have the wisdom from seeing so much in his lifetime but the knowledge that only a learned scholar can. When conversing he may make a point through unorthodox means. Generally, he accepts that he sometimes expresses himself in ways out of the usual.

The demonic companion he often has with him is a succubus. Some think that perhaps he has an attraction to these creatures though Duraza seems to be very wary of becoming to close to any demon. Instead, while he'd never admit to it, he usually keeps a succubus around so that she may discourage the interests of any women in him. One of Duraza's greatest sources of sadness still comes from his late wife and so the thoughts of a romantic relationship are usually the last on his mind. To avoid running into a situation he is oblivious of, he simply makes the chances of it unlikely.

History

As a child growing up in Quel'Thalas Duraza was very sickly. Constant weakness and disease kept him indoors and separated from all but family members. With little else to do he started to spend most of his time in solitude, reading and writing. To substitute for interaction with his kin he would read their stories, their history. He would write stories and feel a connection to the Quel'dorei through words.

His parents encouraged him to continue pursuing knowledge, hiring tutors to see him and teach him in different fields. As Duraza aged he started to venture out from his home to be with the people he had learned to love so much. He also continued his pursuits of knowledge, delving into the realm of the arcane. By 105, getting closer to adulthood, Duraza was becoming a promising scholar and a competent mage. He continued to study the arcane and even though he did not realize it at the time, he had two great loves. His people, and his power. Time would pass and Duraza would marry, take part in the Second War and help bring victory to the Alliance, and begin to raise a family.

When his children were still young Duraza departed to Dalaran to feed his hunger for knowledge. He wanted to continue serving his people and his family, believing that through the mastery of magic he would be able to do so till the end of his days. During those days he learned much more than how to fling spells. He learned of the culture that came from a city that was filled with academics. Art, politics, and philosophy became involved in his every day life. It was a splendid dream that Dalaran, almost too good to leave.

Disaster hit Duraza's life when all of Quel'Thalas was ransacked by the Scourge. He came home too late, wife and all but one of his children, his son Anandar, slain. He took Anandar with him, dedicating himself to Kael'Thas and the preservation of what was left. With all left in ruin Duraza felt no greater pride than to take the name of Sin'dorei. Along with the others who devoted themselves to becoming Blood Elves he began work to rebuild a world, not just for his people but for his son.

But it would never be enough. Arcane hunger dragged him down as did it drag down others. Duraza saw their suffering, saw it too much to stand idly. He saw the need in his boy and could not turn a blind eye. Fel was the path they needed to take to continue surviving. Duraza gave away the last shreds of his relation to the Quel'dorei by becoming a warlock and studying fel to help his new people. To him it was not a sacrifice, it was saving his child and kin from extinction.

Duraza forgot his loyalty to Kael with the rest of the Sin'dorei, focussing on the protection of Silvermoon. He joined the magistrates, hoping that they could lead Silvermoon to a better future. All the while, fel started to eat away at his mind but he ignored its slow corrupting influence. After the Sunwell's restoration happiness came to him like never before. His addiction to fel however, did not fade away. Whether it was a hunger, a thirst, or a desire he did not know but the pangs would not leave.

The only thing that steels Duraza's heart from the corrupting influence of fel today is his desire for a better future for Anandar. For those reasons he has devoted himself almost entirely to the political sphere. Rebuilding the glory of Silvermoon is Duraza's top priority so that his son can live in a time of wealth and prosperity. This devotion has lead to his advancing in the rankings of the Magisters and gaining a proper clientele among the citizens. The taboo that has become associated with fel in modern times has also made him wary of practicing anything other than fire magic in public, though he still studies and practices demonology in security of his own home.

Skills/Abilities

With his focus on achieving higher political standing he has gained a few assets.

Land: He has a small estate in Eversong, serving as his home.

Wealth: The majority of his estate serves as farmland, with its agricultural products sold to vendors in Silvermoon and Tranquillen. He is also a patron of the arts, making numerous dealings with others in Silvermoon on pieces he acquires through outside connections.

Power: Many of his workers and clients compose a small militia. They are cannon-fodder warriors who really only know how to point a gun and shoot. They cannot act on their own but really just serve as support. (They are only to be used for events).
