Appearance

Duaevihaani isn't picky about what she wears. For practicality's sake, she tends towards chainmail and leathers in the color of whatever environment she is in at the time.

In urban settings, she wears brighter colors. She also tends to mix and match clothes in ways nothing short of horrible.

Other: She has light blue skin, an open, pleasant face, a slight limp in her left leg, and a habit of flicking her tail around when talking. She almost always carries a gun or bow (she has been trying to learn how to use a bow) around with her.

She is also a fan of odd decorations, going so far as to search for feathers to put in her hair and clothes (although she is hygienic enough to take them out when she's cooking). She also wears a bracelet strung with crystal fragments and seashells from Azuremyst on her right hand.

Personality

The first impression Duaevihaani gives off is that of unusual friendliness. She treats most people cordially, and will continue to do so as long as they are not openly hostile or from the wrong race. She particularly likes talking to Gnomes, as they share her enthusiasm for engineering, and she hopes to learn new techniques from them. Night Elves she sees less frequently, but accords them great respect for their familiarity with nature (druids are a subject she finds fascinating). Tauren are also interesting.

There are a few races she genuinely hates; Orcs (the reason is obvious) and Forsaken (to her, they are an abomination against physical laws). She doesn't think much of humans, seeing them as being Jack-of-all-trades without defining characteristics. Her attitude towards Blood Elves is also curious - if they are paladins or magic-users, she would dislike them very much. However, she would be just as likely to befriend a hunter.

In short, she is a 'people person'. She is decent with Common when communicating with other races, but either slurs it or has a heavy accent when she is too stressed to care about pronunciation. Most people she meets don't care about this - or even find it to be a source of amusement.

She enjoys the landscapes of Azeroth very much. Whenever she visits a new location, she always tries to find out as much as she can about the local wildlife, vegetation, climate, and general ecosystem (including whether the wildlife and vegetation taste good or not). She prefers to travel on foot, since she can climb and maneuver better that way. Very much a 'wild woman' once she gets into the forests - she learns better through immersion.

There are a few hobbies she likes. Although her ability with machinery isn't what it used to be, she still practices it faithfully, believing that she will regain her edge one day. She practices leatherworking as well - in her opinion, every piece of an animal is too valuable to waste by throwing it away (she has been known to be very creative with this...).

Money is another interest. She understands the concept of banking and finances, and she is amused by the idea of one common currency for all races. (Beyond that, she does not care for money much. To her, it is relatively useless.)

Cooking is her favorite pursuit now. She is fascinated by the foods of Azeroth, and the ways which they are eaten. She devotes much of her time each week to cooking. Interestingly, this is an area in which she does not care about race. She has stated more than once that she wants to learn about what all races eat so she can experiment with it.

She also seems distinctly scatterbrained and eccentric sometimes. This can probably be traced to the head injury she got from the Exodar's crash. She is always trying to collect small objects, which she either saves or uses for decorations.

She is not magically talented.

History

Duaevihaani was born during a period of time when the Draenei were settled on a lush, almost jungle-like planet. Her father, Aatos, was a paladin and her mother, Vanamo, was one of the engineers for Oshu'gun. The Draenei left the planet within ten years.

Her early life in Oshu'gun was pleasant. She lived in an extended family (several grand and great grandparents, uncles and aunts, and a cousin slightly younger than her), and was never lacking for attention, even when her parents were occupied. She grew accustomed to constant attention, and disliked being left alone for even a few hours.

It was her first glimpse of a Naaru which sobered her somewhat. Aatos brought her along one day to observe from a distance. After that visit, she began peppering her father and mother with questions about their race, and why they had left Argus. Her parents replied judiciously - never telling more than what was appropriate for a child to hear - but slowly, Duaevihaani began to understand the larger picture.

What followed was a deliberate act on her part. She began following and watching Vanamo at her work, trying to understand the engineering that went into the Draenei's beloved technology. She also began working on little experiments of her own, believing that she would someday work alongside her mother as an engineer.

Things continued like this for thousands of years. Each time the Draenei landed on a new planet, Duaevihaani took advantage of the situation to learn more about Oshu'gun itself. She began displaying a good grasp of Draenei technology in addition to a slight understanding of the way the Naaru built the ships.

By the time they landed on Draenor, she was helping with regular maintainence of the ship, and spending most of her spare time doodling small inventions. She was still a very social creature, but by this time, this friendliness had stretched beyond her extended family. She made friends easily and kept them with her happy-go-lucky nature.

Duaevihaani was situated in Zangarmarsh as a technician when the corrupted Orcs began to attack the Draenei. She was with a fairly large party (her cousin Tsaa're, one of her uncles, and her father amongst them), and it remained relatively safe for them. Mobilized by Aatos, they later ventured out into Nagrand to find out what had become of the others.

They encountered a group fleeing to Netherstorm on the way, and joined them. The fight for the Exodar was a new experience for Duaevihaani, whose experience with combat was confined to her father's teachings of melee and her mother's teaching of marksmanship. She was wounded in her left leg by the time the technicians had gotten to all of the control points, and was mostly useless during the escape.

She was unlucky in the crash as well, further twisting her leg and getting a concussion from flying debris. She was found a day or two afterward by one of the search parties, trapped underneath a piece of wreckage. Although she recovered quickly enough from her broken leg and the concussion, she remained slightly 'odd' in the head. More than once, she had to be watched by a willing volunteer to make sure she didn't do anything ridiculous or dangerous.

She regained some measure of common sense by the time a few weeks had passed. Eager to repay the help, and prove herself, she began hunting and gathering (food, ship fragments, and useful items). She discovered that she had a knack for living in the wilderness. After finding many foods unpalatable to Draenei, she also went on cooking ventures, trying to make everything she gathered useful. Once in a while, she would also try to put together some gadget from scraps she found in the forests, but it never worked.

Her areas of expertise kept changing the longer they lived on Azuremyst. She had become a hunter and collector for the others, spending much of her time exploring the alien new land. Over time she also tamed one of the large local birds and taught him to hunt with her. She left him behind when she decided to venture with other Draenei to the Eastern Kingdom, specifically Stormwind.

She discovered with some dismay that there were no niches for hunting and exploring in Stormwind. After a few weeks of difficulty and low funds, she found a job very much to her taste (literally). Cooking.
