History

Dolsun was born to two Dwarves, Gorin Orebearer and Thara Plateforge, along with three brothers and one sister just over one and a half centuries ago. Thara's family name came from her profession; a skilled blacksmith, particularly known for fine armors, while Gorin had always worked as a prospector, as had his father before him, and his father's father before him. Gorin was eager to pass on his skills on to his first born son, which he hoped is what Thara was pregnant with. Thara gave birth to Dolsun's sister and Dolsun on the same day, and both were taught the trades of mining and blacksmithing, but both quickly lost most of their interest in working with gems and stones, opting instead for blacksmithing. Thara gave birth to two more sons, Braum who took prospecting as a profession, and Thorgrin, who took mining as a profession. As Dolsun grew, he began to specialize his blacksmithing, and learnt most of his skills from his mother. By the time Dolsun reached adulthood, he had become an extremely skilled armoursmith, and adopted his mother's last name, Plateforge.

During most of the wars, this is how the siblings worked, making armor for the men and Dwarves fighting in the distant lands while ensuring they could defend themselves. Dolsun also took his skills in smithing and used them to make profit, opening a shop in Ironforge for a short time, bringing in profit. Some of his money went into hiring a tutor to teach him how to fight both armoured and with a weapon. During this time of prosperity, Dolsun met Filena, a female dwarf and soldier of Ironforge and over time fell in love with her, eventually marrying her. Dolsun's time of prosperity was to come to a crashing end, however. Filena was slain on duty, word reaching Dolsun a few weeks after her death. Dolsun fell into depression, drinking constantly and wasting a lot of his hard-earned money. Dolsun quickly developed a drinking problem, often getting into fights in taverns and being thrown out. He did not attend to his shop, and went out of business. Dolsun became poor, losing all of his money to drinking. He was on the brink of suicide when he was found by his parents and given help. Under his parent's support, Dolsun stopped drinking altogether, and eventually accepted Filena's death. He began to forge again, and soon rebuilt his life in Ironforge. He now plans to travel to Goldshire, after hearing word from his younger brother Braum.
