Other: Other than wearing that annoyingly constant grin, he is always smoking something. Always. Hidden beneath his shirt, tattooed and literally cut into his skin are an absurd amount of black writings in an old, esoteric subscript. Knowledge in the field of demonology grants you the ability to recognise that these writings are not merely decoration, they are a number of magical and demonic wards and sigils. The markings reach from his forearms all the way to his belt line.

Appearance

Suits, vests, anything comfortable or appropriate for where he is. He likes to wear human clothes, they make him feel formal.

Personality

Arrogant, but not the same type of arrogance as the other sin'dorei. His arrogance comes from the fact that he thinks he knows everything. He can be described as an ‘azerothian humanist'. Not in the sense that he loves humans, of course, but that he believes that the way people must act is not judged by spiritual means. Dawnsorrow firmly believes that he value of all beings must be judged through rationalism.

There is a certain part of his personality that he cannot contain. His greatest vice is his addiction to strangeness and magic. His addiction has to do with the rush he gets during times of danger. He can be considered an adrenalin junkie who does not need to jump off buildings or cliffs to get his high, but merely weaving dangerously in and out of trouble is his favorite past-time.

History

Dawnsorrow was born in Lordaeron, to an originally high-class quel'dorei family. His grandfather before him was a noble, but his father was a failure in life. Dawnsorrow's father was an alcoholic, and used the inheritance money to womanize and gamble. His father would come home intoxicated and beat on his mother and sister. Slowly, his family fell into debt, but Dawnsorrow was not interested in joining his family. He decided to run away from home, but stay within Lordaeron.

He retreated to the lower parts of the city, living as a beggar. As a quel'dorei beggar, he was often ridiculed and life was hard, but it toughened him up. He learned how to brawl, how to con, and he practiced his sleight-of-hand techniques, all for the sake of survival. Originally going by the name “Dazael”, he occasionally had to go by the name of “Daniel”, to simplify things for some of the peasants living in the slums. It was not long until he experimented with substance and started smoking casually, though it was no where near his chain-smoking habits.

During his time in the lower-city, he stumbled across a very strange old mystic who educated him on the occult. He was, like most young spellcasters, curious of this forbidden magic, and he sought to learn more. Originally, he casted spells and curses with little or no thought. However, he eventually realized that he could get what he wanted purely through conversation and trickery. After all, the use of fel magic was highly frowned upon in this type of environment, regardless of being in the lower city or not. He needed to hide his identity as a warlock, to keep him safe.

Of course, he managed to group with the collective. Finding a place with other warlocks was not hard, but gaining respect was difficult. He did, however, find a small group of five friends within the circle, most notably, the younger, less experienced warlocks. They would always get some drinks, sneak into an abandoned building or house in the glades and start experimenting and playing recklessly with fel magic, such was the life of a young, rebellious, lower-class warlock. Of course, this did not bode well for the little fellowship. During one alcoholic binge, one of them decided it would be funny to summon a felhound to ride around the building. Suddenly, the group found themselves running and hiding from a an uncontrollable felhunter. Two of them were killed in the initial summoning, and the remaining four, including Dawnsorrow, found themselves barred up in the basement. While the felhunter ravaged at the door, Dawnsorrow saw it fitting to summon another demon to fight fire against fire. However, this time, he believed he could control the demon alone. He summoned the succubi Lakeila, who defeated the felhunter as a ruse to make Dawnsorrow feel safe. During the summoning, Dazael did not have the willpower to control the demon, nulling his control over her, though he did not realize this until it was too late. After destroying the felhound, the succubi turned to the others and proceeded to slowly torture them, forcing Dazael to watch. She insulted him, reminded him how much he failed, how the pain his friends were feeling was because of him. After several hours, near daybreak, she killed them all and said that Dazael was next. She disappeared after that, no doubt to plot something for Dazael in the future. Eventually, his active use of fel magic declined, though he continued learning new spells and understanding the lore tied to it and he found it being more successful. Soon, all of his problems were solved with a small lie, or a gigantic bluff.

Thus, Dawnsorrow stayed in the lower areas of Lordaeron practicing his “craft“ of deception, magic and con-artistry, until rumours of a plague started to spread a little before the beginning of the third war. Figuring he had spent enough time withering in the lower parts of Lordaeron, Dawnsorrow travelled around the Eastern Kingdoms alone during the Third War, using his wit and charm to con his way out of trouble. He practiced his shadow magic in secret, and rarely cast spells with people around him.

Out of curiosity's sake, he decided to travel to Silvermoon. The journey on foot took several months, and he arrived about three weeks too late. By the time he had arived, there were already elven search parties searching under rubble for survivors. He reluctantly followed Kael'thalas, but took the transformation into a sin'dorei gladly, he would not deny extra power, despite his lack of enthusiasm to use it. Regardless, he stayed in Quel'thalas, figuring his people needed his assistance and he should at least ‘represent‘. He spent his time assisting Silvermoon by hunting down criminals and strange incidents that nobody else wanted to do. Of course, he was never required to actively cast a single shadow bolt against anyone, he only had to trick them into taking themselves in. After doing as much as he was bothered to do, he leaves Silvermoon in search for more interesting things.

During the time of the addiction for magic, some blood elves found it appropriate to siphon the magic from their surroundings, feed, or meditate. Dawnsorrow felt that the meditation was his form of way, and he found that it was even better when he was smoking. So his smoking habits increased, and he found himself slowly becoming more and more engrossed with strange occurrences and the esoteric.

After the restoration of the Sunwell, Dazael still suffered from two main addictions. One is his addiction to smoking, and his other one, he did not fully understand. The smoking did not affect him much, he only gets upset and cranky when he does not get his fix. His second addiction was explained to him by a female sin'dorei warlock he had “met” (wink wink) in his travels. She explained to him that he was an “adrenalin junkie”, and that he was using his strange addiction to danger as an excuse to “do good”. She had realized that he was just pretending to be a good person, where in reality, he was just doing it all for kicks. Dusksorrow did not acknowledge nor deny this, he simply left her and continued on his way, ‘saving' people from the shadows.
