History

Elara was born as the third child of Yerevaen and Saerael Dawnstalker, after Veritas and Emiel. She grew up after both her older siblings had gone off and found their own path in life. Due to the age gap between her and her siblings, she never shared the bond they had with each other but they always gave Elara enough love for her to feel accepted in her family.

Instead of venturing down the pathway of combat and magic her brother and sister had, Elara was a more studious child and spent most of her time reading and learning new things from books. Due to insistence from her sister, however, she was given training in a weapon of her choice. Instead of choosing a sword like Veritas and Emiel, Elara found the scythe to be an interesting and unique weapon. Without minding the strange comments from others, she learnt how to use a scythe to defend from attackers.

Her life retained its same boring and simple style until the time the Third War hit. While her more combat-capable siblings were out helping in the fight against the Scourge, Elara remained in Silvermoon and was with her parents when they were killed. She was able to use her talent with a scythe to protect herself but felt horrendous guilt at her inability to protect those close to her.

After the war concluded, she stayed with her siblings and cousins, coping with the fallout of losing so many family members together. To cope with the magic addiction she felt nagging at her, she consumed a small amount of Fel magic to tide her over. When the power of the Naaru M’uru was introduced to the Elves, she was captivated by the Naaru and set out to learn about the beings. She began to have a firm faith in the Light, but instead of praising some almighty force like so many humans did, she put her faith in the Naaru themselves. In doing so, she started practicing divine magic and found she had talent in healing magic more than offensive. Around this time, Veritas and Emiel went off with a caravan for the Argent Dawn and Elara didn’t see either of her siblings until much later.

She spent her days wandering the Eastern Kingdoms to help as many people as she could with her healing powers. She heard tales of the Dark Portal opening again and tried her best to stay away from the Blasted Lands. News of the Lich King's death in Northrend found its way to her and she felt grateful that the master of the Scourge was defeated.

After the Cataclysm, Elara bumped into Veritas and learned of her brother’s fate, which shook the young girl until by coincidence, she bumped into Emiel, the Death Knight. Instead of fear at his new form, she was overjoyed at the return of her brother.

Her wandering priesthood resumed its course until she went on a job with a friend in the Ghostlands to get rid of a dangerous Abomination. During the fight, her friend was critically injured before they could kill the monster. Elara used her magic to heal her friend and bring him back from what would have been a fatal wound. Again, she saw that she was unable to protect the people she cared about and this time, knew she had to learn how. To this end, Elara signed up with the Blood Knights so she could learn how to use her powers as well as her physical skill to protect those around her from harm.

Now she served the Knights as a healer and a footsoldier for a time, using her divine magic alongside her skill with a scythe to fight the Scourge infesting Quel’Thalas. After a botched mission, she was turned into a glorified errand girl, doing the jobs no one else wanted. This drove her into a depression and lack of self-worth for a while until a friend named Lyriel Fairstar reappaered, her kindness and companionship lifting Elara out of her sorry state and gave her work as her personal bodyguard.

Over time, the Paladin and the Death Knight began to see each other as more than just friends, igniting a romantic relationship that the pair hold strong and faithfully.
