Appearance

Dallahan does not vary much when it comes to clothing. His shirts are loose and made of rough fabric and appear to be always new. The pants are as well, which gives him the mobility he needs and the sucesfully hide his weapons.

His left eye is always covered with an eyepatch and a rather old black leather hat seems to be always on his head. Currently, the rim on the back part has been cut.

He bears many marks of his past: small scars and old burns cover what little is exposed of his skin. Large claw marks and a circular scar, coming from a piercing blow marks his neck. In his chest, can be seen a large scar, caused by a scraping object. Although he wears an eyepatch over his left eye, there is no visible scarring around it, suggesting that it was surgically removed.

Always with a slight sly smirk on his lips, he walks with quiet determination, his left hand always on the pommel of the rapier that he proudly bears on his belt, on the right side, opposing his main gauche. A small blackwood bow is strapped on his back, alongside a white leather quiver with a few arrows of troll make. Two small silver ornate pistols are also carefully kept on holsters, one on each of his hips. A careful observer might notice the bulge caused by the grips of the daggers he keeps in his boots under his loose pants. There is also yet another dagger stashed between his quiver and his back, hidden from all but the most careful observers.

Despite the age, his disdain for the way he looks and the scars, Dallahan still manages to look rather fresh faced, due his elven nature.

There is both a leather canteen and a opaque steel flask, both hanging from his belt, one on each side. Also, there is a clip and a chain on one of his vest's pocklets, that leads to an ornate silver pocket watch.

Personality

  • Alignment: Chaotic neutral.

Dallahan has changed much after his journey to bring revenge upon Wind and his coming back from the grave. More importantly, his long suppressed feelings have a more important in his decisions. However, he is still slightly psychopathic in nature and cares little for strangers, often treating them as objects - only means to his ends - thus making it hard for him to create friends. But he does not care, for he considers his limited number of close acquaintances enough. Despite his antipathy towards strangers, he actually cares for the well being of the few close to him. That, however, is limited to some extent. He would not willingly commit great sacrifices in their favor.

Socially, he is calm. Perhaps coldly so. The slight smirk he keeps on his face tends to be nigh-eternal, despite the odds. It takes much to make him lose his smirk or widen it to a grin. And such happenings are signs that he was deeply affected by something, as much as he would hate to admit. In combat, however, his smirk tends to grow after every blow, becoming a rather wide grin, if given enough time – something that does not brings him shame.

Sadistic by his very nature, he delights on the pain of others. After he killed his first enemy he experienced what it is, according to his worlds “what it is to live” and since then the path that he would follow was 'branded' on him. Killing comes as a instinct for him, even though he handles it with his normal calmness. However, he does not plays with his prey and is quick to land the killing blow.

Though once reckless, he now holds his life into much higher value now. Previously seeking a thrilling, dangerous life, now he just wishes to maintain what he has. Any heads rolling and blood flowing are merely bonus features, though he thinks that those elements will be commonplace on his new life.

Due to the recent events in his life, his supressed past was even more deeply buried. He considers that he has learned from his mistakes and that is enough, though it would hardly be by his own merit. Any events that happened before the day he killed Wind are to him 'past' and not worthy of any special attention.

Althrough he may look from the outside as a fortress of emotional stability, he is still affected by the fortunes and misfortunes that have fallen or will fall upon him and those he cares for. He views that as a weakness and as so, will rarely admit that, even to those he cares for - which normally causes others to consider him as a cold person.

History

Dallahan was born in Boralus, on the Kingdom of Kul'Tiras, son of adventurous elves who decided to leave Que'lThalas and live elsewhere, eager to explore the world. The sea claimed his parents while he was home, so he was sent to a orphanage. He was initially refused, but the Church eventually pressured the orphanage enough to allow it.

At the orphanage, for being elven, he was bullied constantly. Unable to find a suitable family, he was released to the church when he was 80. Unhappy with his duties, he fled and started doing small jobs at the docks, such as fish gutting, ship cleaning and weight carriage. Eventually, he managed to befriend a mage and created a mutual benefit relationship: stealing some smaller pieces of cargo for him in exchange of training in the areas of alchemy and enchanting.

To fund his new learning, he moved at higher prey. Picking pockets and seducing wealthy women, drugging them and proceeding to loot their houses out of smaller valuables. His new methods caused him several run-ins with the guard, most of which he narrowly escaped by reaching the rooftops and running until reaching the docks or ended up with a simple beating,

That was until a particularly unsuccessful day, after failing to pick a pocket, getting beat by the guards, failing miserably at seducing a noble lady, getting beat by the guards yet again, being mugged at the docks and being beat, he used his last troll's blood potion and went to a tavern, spend his money on ale.

There, while attempting to make some money at cards, he caught his opponent cheating. He accused the drunk sailor he was playing with him of cheating and he drew his sword and attacked Dallahan. Due to his soberness and agility, he managed to best the sailor and gut him, like a fish.

But when Dallahan turned to escape, he found himself cornered. One man, appearing to be in his eighteens, but covered in scars, stood forth and took the dead sailor's hat and put on his head, proclaiming himself captain. Then offered Dallahan the choice of leaving his life of suffering behind, and begin it anew, amidst the waves. A offer that Dallahan promptly accepted.

He was quick to embrace his new pirate life. He quickly learned Thalassian from a elf serving the crew. His agility gained by climbing rooftops served him well doing menial duties. And his skill with the knife soon came to a use, during the many boardings. The only thing he could not withstand, were the rapes. But the ale after the successful raids quickly made him forget the screams of the women.

Eventually, a woman joined the crew. A prostitute named Kahtlyn Mirrel. As he did not took pleasure from prisoners, he would often spend his share of the raids with her. Eventually, the two became friends. His knowledge of enchanting, alchemy and navigation advanced greatly under her tutelage, allowing him to reach the rank of Second Mate, becoming the ship's navigator.

His promotion more than tripled his share of the raids, allowing him to spend more time with Kathlyn. Their friendship became passion. Or love, as Dallahan thought. She was quick to use his feelings towards her goals. During one of the ship's stops in Booty Bay, she told him that if he agreed to run away with her, she would steal some of the captain's treasure and buy them a new life somewhere. He promptly agreed.

Kathlyn stole not only a valuable golden statuette, but also attempted to steal the spellbook of Captain Wind. He decided to throw Kathlyn overboard, as punishment. Dallahan intervened and challenged Wind to a duel, to submission, for the rank of Captain and Kahtlyn's life.

The two dueled. Dallahan was quick to get the upper hand and wound the captain, but lost the duel, Wind's rapier piercing his shoulder. Despite the wound, he stood up and continued to fight, but the duel ended with the captain's rapier slashing his flank open and making him pass out due the loss of blood. When awake, Dallahan found himself tied to the mast, and was forced to watch Wind rape and throw Kathlyn overboard. After another week, traumatized by the loss of Kathlyn and his defeat, he left the ship's crew.

He spent four months in Boralus, working at the docks, as he did before. Money soon became short. Until Wind's ship docked again and offered him a opportunity to join back. A offer that he again, accepted it.

Little did he knew about what Wind had done. He had successfully raided a ship holding the marriage of heirs from two families of lesser nobility, killing all the men, raping the women and ransoming them, but going back on his word, boarding the ship with the ransom. That caused a large bounty to be put on his head.

About two days after Dallahan's return, two mercenary ships attacked the ship, sinking it and taking some sailors prisoner, delivering to the noble family who put the bounty. Wind, instead of sinking with the ship, fled, using his magic.

Dallahan was taken as a prisoner to a private dungeon held by one of the nobles. There, for fifty years, he was tortured by the nobleman. When he learned that the guards had express orders to not harm him, he quickly took advantage of that, using his wit to hurt them mentally. Most of the other prisoners perished due the complications brought by the precarious conditions of the prison and old age.

Fourty-three years after his imprisonment, the nobleman died. One of the guards got drunk and attempted to slay Dallahan, that managed to overpower the guard and flee from the dungeon, as most of the guards and servants were busy mourning.

In the woods, he came across a mountain lion stuck on a trap. He freed it and allowed it escape. As he struggled to survive in the woods, eventually, he would find 'gifts' such as dead rats and birds, that he first refused, but promply ate raw as hunger began to build.

One day, the mountain lion woke him and led him to the beaches. A cargo ship had just shipwrecked, leading many supplies and bodies to be washed ashore. He took clothings and weapons from a dead sailor and other things from the shipment, before heading to the nearest town. Forever being curious about his homeland and with the rumor of the fall of the elven kingdom, he headed there and learned the new ways.

Eventually, he would regret embracing his path, when the Blood Elves joined the Horde. But it was too late for him, as he was now a blood elf and a enemy of the Alliance. Despising the other blood elves, he sought solace among the other races of the world and eventually managed to tame the mountain lion and named him "Teeth."

Now, he attempts to fulfill his wishes for revenge against Captain Wind, as he struggles to learn what has transpired during his fifty years of imprisonment.
