Dalathar is a man that holds personal honor in very high regard, in some cases even above that of the law. In his eyes those that lie, cheat, or steal their way to the top are lower beings than the Scourge. In his old age Dalathar has become very blunt even when talking to members of his own family. He harbors a deep hatred of the Undead, Scourge, Orcs, and Blood Elves, though the hatred of Blood Elves is more contempt than racism.

History

Dalathar was born into the upper class Blackstone merchant family in the year -30. His father worked hard to climb his way on the ladders of success in the business world at this time and as such was away from home most of the time, leaving Dalathar to be raised by his mother. The boy was educated at home in the northern Arathi Highlands where his days consisted of learning to read, write, fence, and work as a smith. The last was perhaps the most important as the family made the majority of it's money from selling finely crafted weapons. When his father was home Dalathar would spend endless hours in the forge with him and listen to the tales of his travels throughout the northern Eastern Kingdoms. In the year -16 it was time for Dalathar to leave the house and make his own way in the world if he hoped to inherit the home.

At that time he traveled to the great city of Stromgarde and enlisted in the army where he spent the next 13 years in relative comfort, participating in day to day training, drills, as well as a few other..not so noble vices. Nonetheless during this time he rose to the rank of Knight and was fortunate to meet a woman of the same upper class merchant caste named Ladonna. At the outbreak of the First War in the lower kingdoms Dalathar went into semi-retirement from the army and returned to Blackstone manor with a bride. In the year 0 Dalathar was blessed with a son they named Aroes and, as to continue with family tradition, Dalathar's father retired and passed the family trade to him and for the next eight years took of the mantle as head of the household and traveled the Northern Kingdoms selling finely crafted weapons. In the year Eight Dalathar was called upon to pick up his sword once again to defend Khaz Modan from the orcish invasion. When he returned from war a decade later Dalathar was suprised and devastated to find that his father had died and his son had left to travel the world and learn the ways of the arcane. For the first time Dalathar knelt before his home and said a prayer for both of them. When the undead plague started to spread through the north he once again took up arms to defend Stromgarde. At this point though due to his age he was shortly retired and was not able to accompany Jaina's forces to Kalimdor. For the most part, even in recent years, Dalathar rarely leaves Blackstone Manor, only to sell the few wares he still makes.
