Personality

Cynder has little respect for life. Actually, she has no respect for it at all. She can pull the trigger on anybody whether it be man, woman or even child without even a second thought about it. She is extremely manipulative and can use seduction, acting or just plain money to make people do what she wants. She has absolutely no sense of honor and can turn on her allies at any given time without warning, which has happened a fair number of times. She's a criminal organizer, but rarely sticks with one crew. She usually kill them, betray them or sell them out and then find a new crew. She has no real purpose with her plans, she's just doing them. Cynder's time as a harlequin and overall actor is still deep in her blood. She has a strong sense of the theatrical, usually not doing anything the easy way. According to her, everything can always be more impressive. Why rob a bank without blowing it up after? It's boring. She also randomly breaks into dance or random flips.

History

Cynder was born and raised in a pretty tiny village in present day Ghostlands. The village was nothing of note except a fairly known theater where Cynder was working as harlequin, story writer, pyrotechnic, composer and at times conductor. Needless to say, she was practically running the place. In her later years, she was more or less a local celebrity. She was known for her shocking realism in her plays and she also did a fair number of horror plays. She gave herself the last name “Frightmist” to reflect it, or as her “stage name.”

After a few years, her plays had finally attracted a reviewer from Silvermoon that was coming to watch one of her plays. Cynder did her best, but the reviewer was not impressed. He complained about story, effects and even realism. This destroyed Cynder and her reputation and she was forgotten. Her plays barely had an audience anymore and it didn't take long for Cynder to stop completely. She fell into deep depression for months and was left to her own thoughts. She gradually fell into insanity and one day decided “Very well. . .I'll give them the most shocking play they have -ever- seen. . .And I'll make them all watch it.”

Weeks of preparation followed. She emptied the theater's funds to hire a band of bandits and used her pyrotechnical skills to create bombs that were rigged across the town. Cynder spent days laying out the plan for the perfect play and at last, the night came.

Cynder was ecstatic as she watched the first explosion from the theater entrance. After that first bomb, the bandits entered the town and started to slaughter people, starting with the local law enforcement. The fleeing citizens were then herded by a series a flawlessly timed bombs into the Town Hall, where they had no escape.

Cynder joined her hired men outside the townhouse and joined their slaughter of the survivors inside the Town Hall personally. Afterwards, she performed the crescendo, which was blowing the theater up in one giant explosion. After that, they left town for a hideout Cynder had prepared.

By the time guard reinforcements arrived from Silvermoon. All that remained was charred remains. However, an anonymous letter to the guard a few days later revealed the bandits location. Cynder was not among them.

Cynder had indeed left them and the anonymous tip was of course from her. She had betrayed the bandits she hired for a “happy ending.” She had also grabbed anything of value on her way out. Not that she cared about wealth, but plays need funding and she had no plans about stopping now. Her last play had been such a success!

Cynder wasn't in Quel'thalas when the scourge attacked, but of course she heard about it and she cursed about not being there. The things that occurred there could have given her inspiration for a lifetime. Of course, she had to make due with what she had.

After some time, she started to feel the magic addiction kick in, but she really didn't have any trouble sucking mana out of everything she could get her hands on. She didn't care.

Cynder kept doing her “plays” even up until now, but nothing has been as grand as her first “extreme realism” play and she considers it her masterpiece. She is currently traveling from location to location, hiring random bandits along the way to perform plays such as killing random passer-by people, taking down a caravan or the occasional bank heist. Cynder rarely takes part herself, though. She usually watch the whole thing and in the end, before vanishing, reveal herself, thank any survivors for their participation and bows.
