Personality

Cyllene is a person very devoted to the job at hand; she is one to always put others before herself and is actually very selfless in the majority of her actions. Often, this has found her in tough situations and she sometimes doesn't know exactly how to 'let loose' and decompress after the job at hand is done. The origin of her mentioned traits lies in her upbringing. Cyllene Dawnbreak was raised to be a traveling trader by her parents, and this meant that she would have to learn to defend the family business from anyone doing harm. Her parents and siblings had instilled the idea of putting family before herself in her, and it’s something that Cyllene still follows to this day.

History

Cyllene Dawnbreak was born in Silvermoon City into a family of three other children. Throughout much of her childhood, she remained at home with her siblings and father while her mother worked as a trader abroad in the human nations. As she came of age, Cyllene was soon brought aboard the family business and accompanied her mother to trade with the human nations abroad.

Cyllene was quickly taught how to defend herself using weaponry like swords and even a crossbow when she was thought ready to help her parents. Needless to say, she rarely ever had to defend the caravans from trouble while they travelled about the northern kingdoms. She stayed loyal to the family business until the Second War came about and operations were forced to a halt.

By the time of the Second War, Cyllene had already developed considerable skill with a blade but did not take part in the war. Instead, Cyllene’s devotion lied with the family business of trade. However, Cyllene’s mother had chosen to take part in the war and was killed during one of its battles. By the end of the war, the family’s business was in shambles and was forced into closure upon the fragmenting of the Alliance of Lordaeron later.

Using her accumulated skills, Cyllene began to work as a sell-sword to anyone willing to hire her in Quel’thalas. This continued until the dawn of the Third War. When the undead stormed the kingdom, Cyllene had already been taking refuge from the coming onslaught along with others. She survived along with the majority of her family.

Withdrawal hit Cyllene after the loss of the Sunwell, and she welcomed fel alongside her king and the rest of the elves that became Sin'dorei. She was unable to handle the betrayal of Kael'thas and left the kingdom after the realization. Cyllene left her family behind and sold her services once more as a sell-sword in Goblin towns.

It was long after the restoration of the Sunwell when Cyllene returned to Quel'thalas and her family. She vowed to help her siblings and father repair the family business once more but now doing trading with the Forsaken kingdom. This arrangement went little to nowhere as soon the call to Northrend was made to combat the Lich King. Once more, Cyllene and a lone brother stood behind to secure the family's prosperity. Her other siblings and father were slain in battle with the scourge and did not return.

The news of the deaths had reached Cyllene and her family a short time after, and Cyllene had initially felt guilt for not assisting them. She slipped into a short period of depression and left her trade. After some time, she chose to enlist with the Blood Knights before the eventual fall of the Lich King Arthas as her own form of repentance for not being there to assist her family in both the Second War and in Northrend. By the time of the Cataclysm, Cyllene had become a modestly skilled Blood Knight.
